He's just not qualified and this is big boy stuff. Trev would be committing career suicide to land on MJ if he is not a home run and there just isn't near enough evidence to support him being a homerun.

No source, it just doesn't make sense at all. He can't even figure out how to handle a difference of opinion on backup QB with his OC. This program is a mess, and it is going to take A LOT of expertise in all of the little things to get it moving again. It literally REQUIRES somebody with a lot of HC experience because of all of the little things, the twists and turns, the CEO like decisions and politics that will need to be handled to get it cleaned up. He doesn't fit the bill at this time at all, and he hasn't wow'd as a coach at all. I understand he got handed a mess, but a couple good speeches doesn't fix things any more than our amazing weekly hype video's do. I like Mickey, but this mess is too big for a noob HC.

If they didn't realize that week 3 of the season, BB isn't near the coach I have been reading about in all of the threads pining for his move to NU. Seriously, they knew they could run on us. My 6 year old son could coach Minnesota against us this weekend and come away covering the spread.

This program needs some sort of big splash hire and show promise within the next 2 to 3 weeks or it’s not gonna make it through this season. We don’t have another year to hope that Mickey works out. There’s actually a very high chance that he will not work out as a head coach, and in that case, we’re living through this season again next year. I certainly hope we didn’t spend $15 million to just do more of the same on field performances for almost 2 full seasons.

That is the question for all of our QB's though. At this point, I'd take my chance on the bullet thrower with a touch of mobility. I'm not joking. Either RPO it up with Smothers and a quick out game plan, or Haarberg for the Whipple effect. Purdy has no business being in the room.

Calling this guy out for not being himself is super hypocritical from a guy who openly admits he has created multiple personas over the years to help generate fame and success. Maybe it was my rose glasses, but I never got the feeling that last years team was "bad". This years team sickens me. It is really, really... Really really really.. Bad. Last years team wins 4 out of 5. Last years team with CT at QB wins 5/5. This years team w/ AM at QB is actually a better team, imo, than what we currently have. It is the most Nebraska conundrum ever.

At the end of the day we can all pine for Urban or Prime or Kiffen or Rhule but, you should all know, it's going to be like Christmas 1990, hoping Santa is bringing you a new Nintendo but, Christmas morning you open up a large box of socks. I'm honestly surprised and impressed by his ability to not let the fact that he just got blind side smoked keep him from standing in the pocket the next 50 plays and continue to make some, all in all, accurate reads and passes. I would have such PTSD out there I'd probably just take a knee every snap they asked me to take behind this line. Kind of like how it took Adrian a half a season to start to look like he trusted snaps were going to come into him in the right zip code. I would have thought it CT would look the same with that pocket, but he has shown a tremendous ability to not play scared out there.

Ya, I actually feel like we owe him an apology for bringing him in. He'd put up Heisman numbers with a decent o-line. He's money and a hell of a baller, never complains, never blames. I'm sure glad he's here and hope he considers another year if we can scheme a way to get him an o-line. I'd love to see him have a chance at the season should be having.

I don't agree with shelving them for the season. Seems overkill. The fans like them, the defense likes them, they are a culture point. Yes, the Blackshirt culture is dead.. But so is Husker football, I don't see anybody taking that away for the season. I think this is a miss by Mickey, but he doesn't have to be perfect I suppose. I would have just not given them back if I didn't want to deal with the whats or the whys, but to state they are gone for the year is.. Killing the dream for no reason., But alas, I'll be here behind my keyboard when he's ready to come ask me about it.
