  1. We should end the socialization of red states like Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, West Virginia and Arkansas immediately. If citizens of those states want Gubmint out of their lives, we should allow it immediately. They can pick themselves up by their bootstraps and figure out out. If, after being given their "freedom", they don't like being poorer, have crumbling infrastructure, or have worse health outcomes they can vote differently. Give Republicans what they want.
  2. Very true, although to be clear, the legislatures and governors know full well the election was not stolen. That delusion is in the minds of MAGA voters. They're simply being used as a tool to subvert Democracy so they can stay in power.
  3. I've said this a few times: raw votes does not get a Democrat elected. Everybody knows they're going to win the popular vote. The issue is the popular vote margin the Democrat candidate needs to win by is growing with each election cycle, since the Electoral College rewards geography more than the popular vote. In 2016, popular vote D candidate needed to win: 2.2%, they won by 2.1% and lost the election. In 2020, popular vote margin D candidate needed to win: 4.3%, they won by 4.4% and won the election. By 2024, this trend is going to continue. A D candidate will need to win the popular vote by ~5.5% or higher, nearly impossible margins, in order to win. Translation: Trump/DeSantis can win with fewer votes than in 2020, even if they lose by a blowout of 8-10 million popular votes. All of this is before SCOTUS legalized whatever nonsense Republicans want to do at the state level.
  4. If voters want him, America deserves him. If all it took was 6 months of high gas prices to gloss over the destruction of Democracy, the obvious white-nationalist undertones on the Right, and the immense distrust manufactured leading to the unnecessary deaths of hundreds of thousands, America deserves the decline its currently undergoing. Voters in our democracy are not equipped to handle the world's problems, as such they deserve what's coming to them.
  5. Scott Frost probably thought the same thing about the two dozen other WRs he's recruited out of high school to come to Nebraska, none of whom have made an impact, with the highest rated ones transferring. Our recruiting is frankly not good enough. Considering the resources put into this program and NIL money spent, it's been flat out embarrassing what they've accomplished recruiting out of high school last year and so far this season. The level of talent acquisition is a joke.
  6. Nearly all the WR talent we recruit out of High School seem to be busts. Why keep taking every mid tier 3* player and hope that this time is different?
  7. I'm not sure what this staff is doing on the recruiting trail. Adding a mid 3* receiver to a WR room with 11 current players seems odd.
  8. This has strong "it's been so long it has to happen eventually, right?" vibes.
  9. I agree, but the B1G revenue is so high that it's difficult to turn down. It's all about money.
  10. It's possible! We have a pretty small senior class. I wonder if they can afford to keep up the extreme roster turnover. Not that this staff is good at player development - they're absolutely terrible at it - but it makes that job even harder.
  11. Considering NIL, this class is extremely lackluster. After setting up collectives, soliciting donations to prop up recruiting and overhauling the staff, our recruiting class is slightly worse than our average over the last decade and consists of mostly low-to-mid 3* local recruits. To salvage the class, which probably tops out at 16 total players, every commit here on out needs to be a consensus 4* player on 247, something that just isn't going to happen.
  12. And also if he believed in the peaceful transition of power. Honestly this is all hilarious, Republicans are going to win elections because of worldwide inflation because voters don't care about Democracy. I say let it die, it had a good run. Hopefully the authoritarian model can improve poverty and tackle the world's problems.
  13. Read any @Archy1221 post and then dramatically lower your expectations for voters and what motivates them. He has an R next to his name. Nothing else matters.
  14. I'm shocked they were concerned about crimes. Have they had more than a 10 second conversation with their voters? Even they underestimated the already low-bar Republican represent. Their hatred of America descends to a new low everyday. They aren't even close to the floor.
  15. This has more than 3 words on it and has therefore been lost on Republican voters.
  16. I'd be shocked if it has a meaningful impact on the midterms. I can see it costing Republicans a House seat or two, but overall they're still going to win 35-40 House seats and 3-5 Seante seats.
  17. I'm sure Republicans would totally vote to end gerrymandering and institute Ranked-Choice voting. This isn't a shot at you, just pointing out the undemocratic nature of one major political party.
  18. The youth most certainly are liberal, but they always have been. They're also the least likely to vote. Furthermore, after graduating college they're moving to cities, increasing the urban rural divide. By 2040, 70% of Senators will be elected by 30% of the population. I'm not sure what this means, but it's not good for America.
  19. Worldwide inflation > Attempted subduing of Democracy.
  20. I've explained this a few times in other posts, but basically getting more votes does not win you the Presidency. Yes, Trump is likely to perform the same or slightly worse relative to 2020. But frankly, he doesn't have to do any better. In fact, he can perform worse nationally by 1% or more and still win. This is because the PVI (Partisan Voting Index) is trending towards Republicans rapidly, because the electoral college rewards geography over raw votes. In 2016, to win Democrats needed to win the popular vote by 2.2%. They won by 2.1% and lost. By 2020, the PVI increased such that a Democrat had to win the popular vote by 4.3% (an increase of 2.1% over 2016). They won by 4.4% and won. By 2024, it's likely this trend continues. The Democratic candidate probably needs to win the popular vote by 5-5.5%, a nearly impossible margin, in order to win. This trend is worse in the Senate - which Democrats are unlikely to win back for two decades - and is something that will get worse in the electoral college until Texas turns blue in the 2032 or 2036 election cycle.
  21. This is probably incorrect: Joe vs Trump - Trump favored (55% chance or so) Joe vs DeSantis - 50/50 race Any other Democrat would perform worse than Joe Biden against all other candidates. Incumbency advantages play a role and people over estimate their personal feelings towards politicians and assume they're shared by everybody. Which is why you and others think Joe would perform worse than another D candidate. Decades of political science research tells us that isn't true.
  22. He's basically saying it should be left to the states. Now, because of aggressive erosion of Democracy (see the State of Wisconsin), it's borderline impossible for the people to effect legislation in states anyway. I hope the bloated Cheeto was worth it. Also, don't forget, blame Biden for inflation effecting the entire world. Vote for Rs in November.
  23. His plan was to decrease Russias border with NATO countries, by taking over all of Ukraine and Moldova, the vulnerability of Russia is greatly reduced since the terrain to invade Russia would be protected by the Carpathian Mountain range. Furthermore, he hoped that Western Democracies would not be able to handle the resulting spike in energy prices, with countries like Germany particularly vulnerable leaving them less likely to intervene with aid. His hope was also that Trump would destabilize NATO enough that he would also be able to take back the Baltic states eventually. Luckily that didn't happen, but it's not out of the question in the future. His plan has mostly been a catastrophic failure. Instead of decreasing his border with NATO, it's likely to more than double once Finland joins the alliance. And because Russia is likely to only take a small amount of territory, their vulnerability on that flank has not changed from where it was pre-war. Putin sought to return Russia to the glorious boundaries of the superpower days of the Soviet Union. Now Russia is going to become a glorified gas station and a puppet state for China.
  24. Hmm, I wonder why he didn't mention Loving v Virginia? I guess it's all fine until the laws would affect him. What a hack.
  25. What should we do, meet them in the middle? Mexicans are only rapists, not murderers too? Democracy is only okay to overthrow part time? Assault Rifles are okay to shoot children with, but maybe you should think really hard before letting them do it? Sorry, we don't need to engage in fantasy just to string along rural people because their feelings get hurt when confronted with reality. Let them form their own country so they can ruin it. Secede from the union already, they won't be missed.
