We left the Big Twelve because Texas bullied us and we didn't like it. We got to the Big Ten and they don't seem scared of us. So this is where we are. The one trophy we care about. that has a cool backstory. That we WON...we can't display. Hell, we don't even need a spot for the "Hero" trophy...we don't even have a clue how big it is. But the broken chair, the trophy that the FANS created...is held hostage. You should stop giving them money and being a fan to show them how upset you are. OK. Maybe I should. But...being a fan to me is way more that that. It is something I was born with. I have lived and breathed being a Husker my entire life. So, I think it is fair to criticize. it's my right as a citizen. We aren't relevant. I can say that because it is true. I can say that because I am a sad fan who is coming to terms with the reality that our glory days may be behind us. That those of us who are old enough to remember aren't likely to see that kind of success again. And I am pissed. I have earned that right.

Wow. I cannot believe what the OP said. We ARE TAKING THE B1G money! We don't bring jack. If you think we do, you need to share... We moved away fro, Texas because we couldn't beat them and they controlled the Big 12...and because there was more money available up north. That's it. We ran away from all the traditional rivalries, the history everything. For money. We though we would dominate a new conference and we aren't. It really is that simple. We aren't who we think we are.

I think many will agree with you on this. Riley has historically proven to be a middle of the pack coach. We can talk about his difficulty recruiting at OSU, but he was also just average in the NFL. To really build and sustain an elite program, you must have an elite coach with a record of being elite, such as Meyer, Harbaugh, Saban, etc.. Those guys have won everywhere they have been. When one of those guys comes along, NU must be willing to outpay all other schools to get that level of talent at the coaching position, or else we will be left arguing on this board 10 years from now how NU cannot compete with the elite programs in the nation. why must we wait 10 years??? We haven't competed with the elite programs in the nation for the last 17 years! And I am pissed off about that!

I agree that the Big 8 was not the best conference, but when you say that all fans remember are the 4 amazing years at the end of Osborne's tenure is completely false. TO did more than just win 9 games a year. If you weren't around during that time, I recommend you go back and look who NU played in non-conference matchups and bowl games. Nope. This is absolutely false. Denied. Come back later.

Did you like...actually watch Nebraska in the 4th quarter for the majority of their games? #askingforafriend I sure did. Every game. Most of them against lesser opponents. When we played good teams we crapped our pants.

There's always next season. The rest of the conference will continue to pencil the game against us as a W until we improve. That's the sad reality.

We watched as Wisconsin faced adversity and overcame. They play with heart and intensity. Thats what we need to do. They were already headed to Indy courtesy of our face plant and they dominated the second half. I wish we were like them. It seems like we crawl home to momma when the going gets tough.
