  1. Dominos has made a total 180 from the death disk days (I remember them as well...well I kinda remember them haha). While it's still chain pizza and needs to be evaluated accordingly, Dominos in a pinch is not too shabby nowadays. I think it's the 'best' of the Papa Johns/Pizza Hut like companies.
  2. In the words of the great CFB writer Bum Chillups whenever the subject of going to school out of state comes up...."CONSIDER. ARIZONA. STATE."
  3. Agreed, Boise is a top tier G5 school and recruits pretty well. He should be able to get the Nebraska stink off him in a couple years and should get another bite of the apple either as a G5 DC or P5 position coach. If he could've just strung together one more solid year (this past year) I think there is a good chance he would've gotten a G5 HC job somewhere.
  4. From what I could tell from this article, someone from Deion's staff did reach out to the kids. The timing was not great for the kids at all, a silver lining I suppose is the February signing period may allow these kids to sign with a higher profile program. https://theathletic.com/4005958/2022/12/19/deion-sanders-colorado-commitments/
  5. As scummy as this sounds I don't really have much of an issue with Deion not reaching out the previous regime of committed kids. Would it have been a nice touch to call them all personally? Yes. I have a far bigger issue with the AD telling all these kids that their commitments would be honored only to tuck tail when Deion came in and said it wasn't going to happen. It sounds like he was leaning on these kids pretty hard to stay committed to CU after the previous coach got fired. That does not sit well with me at all.
  6. Darnay turned out to be a really solid player so the juice was worth the squeeze with him. The other two...not so much.
  7. Ha, that Owa thread was nuts and I'm not sure if it will ever be topped. Other nutso ones: Darnay Holmes--1.5k replies Keyshawn Jr--1.1k replies Jamire Calvin (remember that guy!!)--1.3k replies
  8. I hate Flo. The streams always leave a lot to be desired.
  9. So. Bad. Harkens back to the 2010 NFC West when Seattle won the division at 7-9
  10. Will be starting up The English this week on Amazon Prime. Have heard tremendous things. Looks great.
  11. Bullet Train is delightful trash and I can't wait to watch it 15-20 times in the next couple years as it winds through the streaming services!
  12. This thread is going to have more twists and turns than the Bookie/Owa/Darnay Holmes threads COMBINED. Look I know what we're all thinking and as long as he says he's gonna be cool. What about, maybe just this once we let Matty Ice come back?
  13. I initially read this as a pi$$ test and laughed for like 5 minutes.
  14. Yup, that much talent all on one team with the way college is played today is extremely difficult. The most recent example I can think of is Clemson's team in 2019 that had had 3 DL taken in the first round (Wilkins/Ferrell/Lawrence) plus a 4th guy got taken in the fourth round. Despite all that talent (plus all the offensive studs and other dudes on defense they had), they still got beat by that 2019 LSU team by 17. Lol life is unfair sometimes.
  15. While that's true, a lot of those D-Linemen were also absolute freaks (I'm looking at you Kyle Vanden Bosch) that played on Sundays so while I'm not disagreeing with what your saying at all, I'm also saying we had some pretty special talent at the position as well.
  16. Oh man, thanks for posting this! I spent the past 15 minutes trying to think of the name of this system. It was the first video game system I played and I couldn't remember the name of it for the life of me.
  17. #2 however there is a glaring omission here. Also I don't think I saw a Neo-Geo controller in there. Man, you had to have some super rich parents to have a Neo Geo! I remember there was a TV show in the early 90s called Video Power and the main prize was a Neo Geo. Holy smokes I wanted to get on that show in the worst way.
  18. Hey NM, So, if you are a bit of a DIY'er, I completely and wholeheartedly recommend the Boglehead forum. It's based on John Bogle, who was the founder of Vanguard and pretty much the inventor the low-cost index fund. Here's a link to their forum/Wiki if you wanted to take a look and do some research. https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Getting_started
  19. I have mixed feeling on Sanders getting hired. On one hand, P5 is sorely lacking black head coaches and as much as it pains me to say this, CU has done a nice job in that arena with their past few hires. My biggest questions with the Sanders hire will be...how will he deal with losing? Will he accept responsibility or pass the buck to the players? We all sat through that with HCSF and you can get away with that line in year 1 and maybe year 2 but after that, it's pretty stale (and frankly I think it's a BS line because you're the HC making $5+mm). I don't think he's taking Colorado to 26-2 in his first couple years and if he does, Colorado will build a freaking statue of him. The other thing is and it's difficult for me to articulate this without coming across like I'm being a hater is...Deion has always struck me as a guy that is all about Deion and if other things happen to overlap with that, that's cool. I don't begrudge him for leaving Jackson State to take the CU job but by him using the language of, "God told me it was time to leave" is such a cop out/spin cycle answer that is designed to shut down any questioning. A tip of the cap to CU for pulling off this hire and they have made themselves nationally relevant. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to make myself throw up for typing quasi nice things about CU.
  20. One is actually a good coach, the other caught lightning in a bottle.
