  1. Limits on prop bets like this are pitifully small usually no more than a couple hundred bucks. Vegas is not sweating this action whatsoever. It's just a fun prop for people to throw a couple bucks down. To answer your question, generally, yes Vegas will try to get equal action especially on heavily bet sports like the Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four, etc. However, they 'take stands' all the time where they are comfortable taking 70% percent of the money on one side knowing that statically they have the right side and are willing to take the risk.
  2. It'll be interesting to see what happens should UCF promote one of the coordinators to the HC job. Selfishly, I hope it's the DC because I'm a giant fan boy of Troy Walters. I'll be curious to see what happens if UCF goes outside and brings in an existing HC. Does Frost bring both coordinators with him? I get the impression that the salary pool for assistants is going to be at least as big as it was for Riley which was around $3.8mm (although I'm not sure what happens with Bob Elliott's salary--RIP). I do wonder if Chinander gets the HC job if they'll go with a big name guy since they'll obviously have the money to do it. Steele would be awesome obviously.
  3. I'm still oddly bitter for no good reason about the Joe Burrow thing. Man, he would've been a perfect QB for Frost's system. *shakes fist in Tim Beck's general direction*
  4. I could easily see Davison rolling into some type of admin role and having a Paul Myers-esqe career. I agree with @Sparker and @HANC that Davison would probably prefer to not have to be openly critical of Frost and Davison was walking a very fine line as a university employee towards the end of this year with his comments. It might be best for all parties involved if he shifted to a different role within the university.
  5. In specific regards to Morgan he's probably looking at through the prism of the following. I just came off a record setting season, my HC and position coach are gone as of right now, I've seen who the favorite in the clubhouse is for the next HC and checked out his system. Also, the QB who I've developed great rapport with isn't really a fit for this new system. Lastly, I only have one year left eligibility-wise. What if I stay and it just doesn't click for whatever reason. I do agree with @Enhance that you need to see who Nebraska brings in before making any decisions. I mean heck, if Frost brought Troy Walters with him you're telling me you don't want to learn under that guy? Dude won the Biletnikoff award and had a legit NFL career.
  6. I'm not sure if the guy who just broke the all time record for receiving yards in a season should be identified as a 'slacker' but hey, you do you.
  7. Regime changes and total teardowns take time. Look at it this way, the win total for Nebraska will probably be pretty close to where it was this year which was around 6 or 6.5 before closing at 7. You seem to feel strongly that Nebraska will win at least 7 so bet the overs and make some cash!
  8. I have no expectations in the instance that I think we experience serious growing pains @ QB unless Nebraska absolutely crushes it with a JUCO plus the RB situation is maybe the worst it's ever been in the past 20 years.
  9. Pretty pretty please let the details of this come out. I love me some good ol fashioned gambling/degen stories!!
  10. +1 to you sir. As much as I can't stand PJ Fleck's schtick I really liked his comment on his first year with Minnesota being 'Year Zero' in that this year was more focused on getting his guys in the program, running off the guys who didn't buy in, etc. I really think Frost is looking at almost a complete tear down. He obviously has talented players to work with but I'm completely willing to write off next season as long as we're seeing good signs towards long term success. I have zero expectations for next year in terms of a record. Assuming Nebraska recruits at the same level it has for the past few years (maybe a small bump due to Frost) I feel safe in projecting that Nebraska's win total will be 6 with heavy juice or 6.5.
  11. What you describe is true. With all that said, he'll never be more than the 3rd best coach in that division and as long as the talent is close to equal he has no shot beating Shaw at Stanford and Petersen @ UW.
  12. I could definitely see Taggart going to UF. I think Taggart would be willing to grant some of the ridiculous concessions that UF's boosters/AD would put on him in exchange for getting back to the South. I'm still not sure if Taggart is a good coach in all honesty but there is zero doubt that he isn't an out of this world recruiter.
  13. Todd Graham is a mega d-bag. ASU is taking a page out of Nebraska's playbook w/ Pelini. Plus you've got Sumlin floating out there who from all accounts is a good and decent guy.
  14. Sumlin to ASU would be a great fit. He really only needs to do 2 things. One is not be Todd Graham who makes the people in the Shed's D-Bag HOF look like saints and win 7+ games per year.
  15. Scott Frost obviously only hunts men as man is the most dangerous game.
  16. His personality didn't do him a whole lot of favors I'll grant you that.
  17. If Mangino was a skinnier fellow he would've won a national championship by now. Say what you will about his personality, dude was a flat out incredible coach.
  18. The last out of left field, who the heck is this guy hire I can think of that went really well in CFB is honestly when Pete Carroll got the USC job. Which is obviously saying something. I was a little surprised when Notre Dame hired Charlie Weis too.
  19. I know I'm getting ahead of myself IF (and that's a big 'ol hypothetical if) Frost comes to Nebraska and it doesn't work out while there will be some raw emotion at first but my guess is it will all be ok in the end. The situation that's been floated happened in Green Bay when Bart Starr was the head coach for the Packers. I think we would all agree that Green Bay is pretty similar to Lincoln in a lot of aspects and the Packers have an incredibly loyal fan base similar to what Nebraska enjoys. Starr was the QB when GB won the first 2 Super Bowls and after his career he moved into coaching and was the HC for the Packers. It didn't go well for him (below .500 over several years). Starr is still absolutely beloved in Green Bay and no one really brings up his coaching career. Now, obviously things are different nowadays as fans enjoy much, much greater access through social media and other channels. So I guess where I'm going is will Frost be under a lot of pressure if he takes the Nebraska job? Yes. Will he be run out of town like a carpetbagger if things don't go well? I don't think so.
  20. Fuente is a better candidate than Frost as he is younger and younger is always better.
  21. So just to be clear you're not ok with Fuente who brought a Memphis program back from the dead and has VT running at a level that Beamer hadn't hit in 4 years but you'd be ok with Venables who has never been a HC? Got it.
