  1. The 2017-2018 classes at WR will tell us all we need to know. Also, the 2019 class didn't have anyone rise to the occasion during a down year for our wideouts. However, I think Chase and Houston could be gamers, but time will tell with them. 2017 KJJ- gone Tyjon L- transferred McQuitty- injury prone career, non-contributor Warner- walk-on and main contributor of the class 2018 Miles Jones- transferred Justin McGriff- transferred Andre Hunt- gone Jaron Woodyard- transfer, little contributions Mike Williams- some contributions, graduated Dominick Watt- never made it here 2019 Houston- redshirt Chase- redshirt- saw the field a few games Nance- redshirt So if we can get Kris or a wide receiver in the portal I would welcome it. Not all of the 2020 class will contribute this year either. This staff wants more guys that can spread the field and catch the ball, so adding more guys will only help.
  2. I'm with you. However, I would rather get those losses out of the way now in year one than in year 4 or 5. Obviously, we will probably be upset by lower teams in the future with bad shooting nights. Anyway, Fred is a great offensive mind and draws up some monster plays and gets his guys to execute out of time outs.
  3. Dontae Manning is still available but he isn't coming here. I wish we would lock up or at least try to get the top players in the KC and St. Louis Metro, but we found other players for this cycle. No school has dominated St. Louis outside of Ohio State and we could definitely be that school.
  4. Corcoran Fleming Manning Mauga-Clements Scott Payne Sleeper Brown

  6. Wow, thanks for the update Mav! It is crazy how some guys on the LSU staff have ties to Nebraska. They have Mickey Joseph, Corey Raymond, and Bill Busch.
  7. Many D1 guys fall down to the JuCo ranks after stupid stuff. It happens all the time. I would recommend watching Last Chance U to see how many actually go that route after failing in D1. He could go this route and many would take him but I am not sure if that is an environment he would thrive in.
  8. I could see that. But we really need another nose. A pass rush is nice but if you give up 4 or 5 yards per rush on one play a nose can definitely help with that. Damion is solid but we could do so much better and honestly we need to.
  9. I'm thinking we take: 1 WR 1 NT 1 Other need- if a scholly is available I think we need an immediate nose that can play. Jordan Riley is not going to help us at that spot. Maybe another JuCo pops up but it needs to be an immediate guy. Preferably a grad transfer nose to start right away. He needs to be better than Damion because we are thin there right now. I believe we are trying to get another big bodied wide receiver to help us out as well. Could be a grad transfer or if we land some good prospects for 2020 a sit out transfer. The last spot is up for grabs and we may not even have a spot for it. However, we really need another nose and wide receiver. If we take care of those we have filled our most immediate needs imo.
  10. Yes we are after a grad transfer WR. The room needs another big bodied guy. If Justin Robinson commits we probably won't but I would venture to say we take one. You say WR is plan C for the transfer portal, who would be plan A and B then?
  11. We probably won't get him. But we need big bodied receivers and guys like him can only provide depth and he would definitely play if he came here. I know we were in on a grad transfer WR from Oregon and a grad transfer Northwestern WR was interested as well. He might be down the board some so we would only get him if we miss on other bigger receivers.
  12. A 6'3 receiver who can play at the P5 D1 level? I will take that for sure. He could open up the offense more and give us another big bodied guy. At this rate we need big boy receivers and his numbers aren't that bad. He would have been top 3 on the team in receiving so passing on guys like this are not something we need to do. Will we get him? I don't know but I do know we will have a spot for a grad-transfer WR.
  13. The only thing that worries me is that we potentially may have bridged a relationship with Indy CC. Hopefully, they understand because that place has some talent in it every year. As stated above, there might be more to the story than we know. It just seems strange we take his commitment and then just back off like that. We definitely need 2 ILB's for this class. We maybe wanted to take one JuCo and one HS player and they prefer Mauga over Jamoi.
  14. They will probably have a competition, but you are right in that Adrian would win that. Frost won't pull Martinez in the game. He just won't. He always goes with his starter because against UCF in 97 he got pulled during the game and never forgave Osborne for it. If it is at all possible, he doesn't want to mess with the QB's psyche.
  15. Nothing to confirm this, but the staff was supposedly worried about a certain class he took. They may have feared Jamoi might not qualify. From what I have seen, though is that he should have no academic concerns. So whatever it was, Nebraska did not want to take the risk. His coach apparently says he was able to qualify so who knows whether if it was that or if the coaches found someone better. The Huskers might only want to take a certain number of JuCo's this year, not sure what the number will be, but that has nothing to do with Jamoi. I just wonder how many they would take for this cycle?
  16. I was talking about immediate transfer guys. However, it could be a sit out transfer. And if it were to be Bleich, I would not mind that.
  17. The two immediate eligible guys were both four stars Kellen Diesch is a four star tackle from Texas A&M Ryan Johnson from Tennessee is a guard- also a four star I would assume it would be the tackle we take if we want to move Farniok inside? Either of those guys I would take though and figure it out later.
  18. What is even more interesting is the fact that he can shatter records coming back for another year. I believe he is only 200 or so yards behind Stanley for career receiving yards at Nebraska. He can also be the first 3,000 yard receiver at Nebraska with around 450 yards. So if he wants to be in the record books, which is every athletes dream, he would stick around and get it.
  19. Adrian looked scared to make the wrong play. He hesitates before he takes off or makes a decision. It just feels like he doesn't trust himself, which is a shame because he was a stud his freshman year. He also ran way too much in my opinion. Give him 10 or so carries a game and no more. When he has to take hit after hit it wears on him I believe. He may have been worried about getting injured again. I don't mind if he takes off to scramble for a first but option plays and fewer QB runs would help him I think. A QB run is very crucial but it should be more of a threat rather than a must. Against Iowa he took too many hits that Mills or another RB could easily take. Heck, sub in Luke to do some QB powers in the future. I really liked that package and we should see more of it. My point is when your QB takes hits on running plays and hits getting sacked it wears on them. We need to be more smart with him and our star players or they will continue to wear down. Load management is important and right now we are not good at it.
  20. The year zero comment is more to just preach patience. A bowl game next year would be a huge stride for this team. My expectations next year are flip the record and go 7-5. If you look at the future schedules they just continue to get tough as the years go on. Heck, Stanford who has been a force in the Pac 12 is 4-8 this year. We need to let Frost and crew right the ship. He was extended until until 2026 because they are showing we believe in the process. The process is what will help get us wins down the line. Also, proper development, S&C- still not where it needs to be, as well as better recruiting and familiarity with the system will pay dividends down the line. Lastly, once his talent and team is looking like it should be we will be a force in the West.
  21. He would make a change if they are not cutting it. Sometimes it works out and others it may not for some coaches. The jury is still out on our LBs and special teams. However, Frost is loyal to his staff and that is why it may take longer than in other instances. As of right now they need a few more years with their position coach before a change should be made. I believe that because Frost believes it and I trust him to make the right decisions with his staff.
  22. It is definitely just me making the claim for consistency. You can want x amount of coaches to be fired but Frost will not do it. He won with this staff so he will ride them out until he has to make a change. I will give you the fact DeWitt has whiffed on recruiting but the 2020 cycle is not over just yet. Fleck made a year 0 comment and has a the best season in Minnesota in as long as anyone can remember. I get what you are saying but if it wasn't year 0 why give Frost an extension? It is to preach patience to the fan base. Moos will not force his hand and make Frost make a change. That is when the coach can't do his job and is told what to do.
  23. This was not the first time I have posted something similar to this. I am not making excuses just trying to be realistic here. My perspective may be different than others but this was a long rebuild. I definitely did not expect to have a losing season this year. Next season is huge for Frosty. He could get 9 wins, or 6 wins or 5 wins again. We are playing the long game and if a few things go our way here or there we are 7-5 this season. Now, will he fire coaches is yet to be determined but I don't see him doing that. Most will either leave on their own or step away.
