  1. or what some of us have been saying all along. Colorado had a ton of amp and energy those first few games, but that schtick only works for so long, and now look what has happened. 1-3 since then. Stanford was their last winnable game.
  2. We tried that with Callahan, and he was run out of town on rails.
  3. To me the fumbling thing comes down to are the fumbles because of an interaction between players, or a fumble that happens on their own. Grant's fumbles are on his own. All of the QB fumbles have been interactions between RB and or Center. (A teamwork type of issues) Those are issues that should be a lot easier to fix. Fumbling because you aren't carrying the rock correctly is a bit harder. And in my mind that is what Rhule is trying to express, but not doing a very good job of it.
  4. So. Is this like how everyone just knew Teddy P should be playing and he was just better than Turner C. and then he played…… and all those people went away for some reason. Asking for a friend.
  5. Those types of outlets are being held in for max protect to cover for the OL. Everything is tied together.
  6. At some point there will be a middle backer that can actually pick off a ball against HH. I think in every start there has been a ball thrown across the middle that he completely misses the linebacker dropping back into coverage and he throws right to them. Haarberg needs to learn how to read a defense a bit better. Zone defense confounds him to no end.
  7. And as has been mentioned before. This is year 15+ of their offense, and year one of ours.
  8. Looks like USC is going to have a tough schedule next year. Their ooc games are LSU, San Jose st and then Notre Dame. Then into BIG play. those are two really tough games to start
  9. No, at least not "forced" If someone leaves then of course you'll need to replace them. I just don't see anyone leaving at this point.
  10. Omarion Miller would like a word about freshmen WR starters. (that was in the running to come to NE but went to CU) BUT, to be very clear it took him until the Buffs 5th game and a top 5 QB throwing him the ball for him to finally "breakout" So, there is some truth to the fact that it takes a hot second for an offensive player as a freshmen to gain some footing. We should be comforted in the fact that we have had so many freshmen playing on defense, that playing freshmen for this coaching staff will not be an issue. But we do need them to at least know the playbook first.
  11. And you don't think they haven't tried everything to get him here?
  12. So.....We are a normal BIG10 team then?
  13. We tried that once and Callahan got ran out of town, because not only did he try not to lose by scoring he still also lost by 50 in doing so.
  14. He is talking about the student section, where students either cram down towards the bottom or leave to go drink at half time and don't come back. Mainly because their seats suck. That has been that way for as long as I can remember even back to the glory days.
  15. Agreed, but the comparison was the first 7 years. Which is a ridiculous comparison.
  16. Bo pelini = a$$h@!e personality Tom Osborne = not an a$$h@!e personality that’s it. That’s the difference.
  17. The only thing I can think of on the 4th and 1 for going to Shotgun, is to give HH the ability to pick a spot to run to. The OL was not getting any push, so by giving HH a head start and a little vision, maybe he could hit the one crease that the OL did give him. (except he left his feet, and that is a nono. You lose all your power and momentum when you do that)
  18. This is pretty much where I'm at, and I'm guessing I'm not the only one. That, and everyone knows that this year is not meant to be the year we are "back"
  19. I'm digging it. South Stadium has always sucked, and getting the students a much better "area" will be part of this I'm guessing. Not having access to South Stadium stands for 1-2 seasons is really going to hamper attendance though. Unlike the North stadium, I don't think they'll be able to reuse much of the South, but I could be wrong.
  20. https://huskers.com/news/2023/9/28/regents-will-consider-memorial-stadium-renovation-plans Specific planned renovations include: South Stadium demolition and replacement with chair-back general seating. New chair-back seating in West and East stadiums. 360-degree main-level concourse connection and 270-degree upper-level concourse connection. Concession upgrades, refurbished menu options and added points of sale throughout the stadium. Restroom modernization throughout the stadium. Academic curriculum space, with specific uses guided by UNL’s academic leadership. Enhanced student life amenities. ADA upgrades throughout the stadium. Completion of the entire stadium renovation project is targeted for July 2026, with occupancy to follow in August. Plans for the $450 million renovation will go before the Board at its Oct. 5 meeting.
  21. And yet we still have folks out there and on this site that say our OL is worse this year than previous years. But that doesn't tell the whole story. In one half of their job they are arguably better than they have been for 7 years. Again, I don't have the data on pass blocking, but I would guess it is about the same as it has been over the past 7 years, crap.
  22. Heard a note from Sean Callahan on a podcast that this year's offensive line has graded the best they have since 2016 in Run blocking. Pass blocking however..... I don't get the actual grades, so can't confirm, but I would admit that the run blocking is much better so far this year.
  23. The difference is they are in year 20 something of that offense. We are in year one.
  24. There are ads on this site? Never seen one. Genuinely. <Johnny Carson>I did not know that.
