  1. I think our O-line is looking better as NW is getting tired. Conditioning may show itself in the 4th Qtr.
  2. Our punter has a 49.0 yd average right now. That average would be 5th in the country - looking at 2021 Season. Top two were 51.2 yd average.
  3. Whose brain fart was that call for an onside kick???
  4. A lotta game left, but it sure FEELS like the tide has turned decisively.
  5. Nice to finally hear a “YES!!!” outta Davison
  6. Take a bow & take a seat - get the offense back on the field.
  7. Nebraska leads the first half for 29:30 but loses it in the most important minute. NU FANS are the ones that will be vomiting 15-20 times per game.
  8. This article makes some valid points about how Whipple may not want to put TOO much on Casey's plate in a Week 0 game (for multiple reasons). https://sports.yahoo.com/week-0-best-bet-its-going-to-be-ugly-in-ireland-145639714.html
  9. NICE weather for football. Huskers should be used to the humidity.
  10. Well, it is pretty natural to compare him to what we could have had at QB - had he not decided (or been encouraged) to try his hand elsewhere. But I get your point... It's like Husker Fans have Stockholm Syndrome. The only thing we've seen under Frost is Adrian at QB. And we also haven't seen a ton of quality at QB2. so it's like we've forgotten what that could look like.
  11. I know that there is a whole separate forum for Husker Videos, but this thread is for anyone to link to their favorite Husker video to "set the tone" for the 2022 Season. They may not be new to many/most, but to those who may be seeing them for the first time, you will be doing a real service. I'll start us off with this one: https://youtu.be/IFN4ZIyazsM
  12. This one? http://dlvr.it/SWyKpS Pretty underwhelming until they hit the “HUSKER” / “POWER” part. What are you going to do though, when you don’t want to show departed coaches or departed starting QB (and images of Frost are no longer confidence-inspiring)? The fans and memories is about all you’ve got - before the season begins. Also, how did I never notice before this video that the fireworks form “N”s? (Sheesh!)
  13. I have the feeling this is going to deserve it’s own discussion thread: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10045914-nebraskas-scott-frost-estimates-ol-have-thrown-up-15-to-20-times-a-day-in-camp I feel like this is one of those “sausage-making” moments that it is better not to talk about. Perhaps not the greatest public comment for recruiting, either.
  14. It seems pretty clear to me that Rahmir is going to be used as a Wandale Robinson v2.0
  15. Here's the Opponent Preview from the Iowa perspective. (8/16) Subtitled: "Was it a Scott Frost problem or an Adrian Martinez problem?" (BlackHeartGoldPants.com could use a proofreader.)
  16. I get that a LOT of Husker fans are afraid to get their hopes up this year. I believe that there is Optimism, Pessimism, and Realism. The Reality isn't proven until game day, so before then we just have our "takes" and they will each fall somewhere on the Optimist/Pessimist/Realist spectrum. All along, I've thought that Frost needed to understand that football (especially Big Ten football) starts with the OL and DL. And that Special Teams can make or break a game. I feel like significant things have changed (for the better) going into this season. Coaching Upgrades (NO QUESTION): Mickey Joseph (WR) , Major Applewhite (RB), Mark Whipple (OC and Head Coach Whisperer). Hopefully coaching upgrades: Bill Busch (Special Teams Coordinator), & Donovan Raiola (OL). Significant Transfer Players inbound: 247Sports puts Nebraska at No. 6 in the Top 10 2022 Transfer Classes. If our Defense doesn't take a step back, I think improvements on Offense and Special Teams can't help but put us in Bowl-bound territory this year. I'm pretty confident of 7 wins (realistic) and hopeful for 8 or more (optimistic). This quote is by the Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce, but I think it speaks to any football team that is willing to morph it's personnel and identity. I would like for this to be a quote we are using for the Cornhuskers this season:
  17. It won't be long before a whole new class of lawyers is flocking to NIL-related disputes, like bees to honey. Morally reprehensible "professional" behavior won't be far behind.
  18. What are the odds that both Chip Kelly and Scott Frost still have their gigs when UCLA & Nebraska play their first conference football game against each other?
  19. Welcome to Husker Nation, Riley Van Poppel! https://www.hudl.com/profile/6464353/Riley-Van-Poppel
  20. He would be saying the same thing if he was still the QB at Nebraska. There is “coach speak” and there is “QB speak”. He’s always executed good QB speak.
  21. A lot of people seem to be ignorant of the fact that symbols can change meanings. Symbols can be (mis)appropriated and it is THEY (the misappropriators) that should be blamed/condemned for what they have done. You probably get that, in the case of the swastika which, in the West, was long a Symbol of good luck UNTIL it became the BRAND of the Nazi party (and now the neo-Nazis). Similarly, if a hand gesture has been appropriated to invoke a new & offensive meaning in society then the rage/blame should go to those that sullied the symbol - not those who recognize (& wish to disassociate themselves from) the offensive connotation. Politics should have nothing to do with it, but people are being conditioned to see everything through that binary lens. (It cracks me up to see anti-vaxxers as one exception to that “rule” - now coming from extremes on BOTH conservative & liberal sides of the spectrum.)
  22. This is quite brilliant, but not replace - supplement. And to invoke rural vibes her name should be Haylie. Herbie & Haylie. Down the road they can have a fat baby boy swaddled in a red diaper with a white N on it. His name will be Husky.
  23. Nice catch! If they did not get the photographer's permission (hopefully paying him), that's a pretty blatant copyright violation that COULD cost the athletic department 4 or 5 figures.
