Something like this happened to a teammate of mine in high school with a baseball bat. It basically bent after hitting a ball near the handle, he returned it under warranty but Louisville Slugger shipped him the wrong replacement. They shipped him the correct model and then never asked for the wrong model to be returned.

We had a fridge that made a slight noise due to a loose shelf. they decided to give us a new fridge, part was not replaceable somehow. Now get this, neither the store or the company wanted to take the fridge back. We called them several times and said, look take it back it's just taking up space and they said, no we dont want it. We sold it for 1500. Somehow I dont think they will miss your lap top.

Red five. This is all up to you obviously but IMO, I would make the call and apprise them and if they don't want you to return it, then whoopie, you made out great. Being honest and having moral and ethical values separates the haves from the have nots. IMO
