      There are an infinite number of numbers that fit between .999repeating and 1.

       

      Let's just start with .9 and 1.

       

      .91 is between .9 and 1.

      .901 is between .9 and 1.

      .9001 is between .9 and 1.

      .90001 is between .9 and 1.

       

      We could go on and on, even if we're talking about 0.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999repeating.

      Anyhow, I answered this already when I said 1/3 != 0.333repeating. 0.333repeating is a representation of 1/3.

       

      This might explain it better than I can, since I'm not convincing you.
