  1. Defensive boards and turnovers
  2. Ehhh, I don’t think it’s because Rs are particularly good at it. Rather their audience is extremely gullible, undiscerning and willfully ignorant of the truth. But yeah, what the Rs do works well on certain people.
  3. Yeah I realize we aren’t located near any fertile recruiting grounds. I was simply commenting on the attractiveness of the mentioned locations. I don’t think location has near as much to do with it as winning and program success. Top programs can recruit from anywhere. Winning begets more winning.
  4. As long as he has a drivers license and social security number….we’re good
  5. Employers have to do an I-9 Employment Eligibilty Verification Form by Dept of Homeland Security when hiring. A social security card/number is not required to satisfy it. But it would be extremely hard/rare that a person could produce the needed alternate documents without being legally eligible to work in this country. However I do think falsified documents are fairly easy to get. Certain industries, like meat packing for one, seem to get lots of fake docs. We used to voluntarily participate in the E-Verify program but like most government things it was a s#!tshow so I quit doing it. FYI, I am 99.999% certain we have never hired an illegal alien.
  6. Yeah that’s what I thought when the dot-com bubble burst in the late 90’s. That one hurt.
  7. IDK, I’ve been to Norman Oklahoma and South Bend Indiana and Lincoln is a rose garden comparatively. I know ND has some inherent recruiting advantages but location isn’t one of them. Tuscaloosa is also pretty sketchy but it is near the ‘cruits.
  8. This^^^ The migrant labor that worked at the aforementioned greyhound racing dog food plant would go outside at lunchtime and eat their lunch sitting on dead bloated carcasses. For the life of me I don’t know why. They had perfectly clean lunch tables inside the plant. Guess they wanted some sun
  9. Yeah, I’ve never seen an abcess in meat but I have seen some on the big sack of guts pulled out of a cow. Gross. Actually the worst thing I ever smelled was in a plant where they made greyhound racing dog food from dead carcasses. They would haul in truckloads of dead bloated cows and then skin them and bone them out whole. Anyways…the place had lots of freezer storage and we had to go in, thaw it all out because the ice had literally grown into a solid chunk that resembled an igloo that only forklifts could pass through the tunnels of ice so that we could replace all of the refrigeration units and piping. Little blast freezer rooms about 30’ cubes had about 10’ thick ice everywhere. When we thawed it (took weeks in the summer heat) that frikken smell…OMG, from all the bits and chunks of meat and guts that were in the ice. Made me wretch and I was way used to typical nasty smells.
  10. He must’ve been a noob. I’ve worked around (construction) meat packing and there are all sorts of things that would make a person puke….but you get used to it and over it pretty quick. I’ve been in a pit of coagulating blood up to my neck, arms covered in paunch (cow stomach contents) and many many other gross unmentionables. The only time I ever puked was my first time just walking by rendering in the morning (with a hangover). Just from the smell. Meat packing and processing plants are nasty.
  11. I don’t share in all this Harbaugh love. Only thing I’ll miss about him being in the B1G is the chance to beat him.
  12. It’s very easy for the bubble folk to claim things would’ve been better with their guy/party in charge because there is no evidence available (not that Rs pay much attention to actual evidence anyway). In reality my portfolio has done slightly better during Bidens term but my belief is the President has very little influence over most economic matters. The fed sets interest rates independent of the Pres, oil does what it wants, the stock market does what it wants, etc. The President is a lazy man’s scapegoat.
  13. 13-17, 6 of 8 beyond the arc and 10 boards. Kinda crazy. And speaking of crazy, the announcer after the game said if they played the tourney games in Lincoln, that right there (meaning Nebraska) would be your next national champs.
  14. I’d pay $100 just to see somebody punch her right in the face. PPV event of the year.
  15. Actually it is quite fair to those who have paid their debts. After a person has declared bankruptcy it is up to future lenders if they want to take on that added risk again. People who have managed their finances well get the benefit of better loan rates and terms. TBH I don’t know exactly how bankruptcy works but it seems to be way more fair than giving some people, who agreed to specified repayment terms, big chunks of money while not giving it to others who paid their debt or didn’t enter into it at all.
  16. I’ll have to disagree with you…and agree with Archy on this one. It isn’t a competition issue but one of basic fairness. We also spent a ton on our kids further education. One of them graduated from UNL (out of state tuition) and the other decided going further into debt wasn’t worth it. In both cases, forgiving other’s school debts would be a slap in the face to people who acted with fiscal responsibility. I’m not opposed to making education more affordable. I am vehemently opposed to blanket forgiveness of loans people willingly entered into by choice. And TBF, I would’ve taken that money in heartbeat but alas there is no debt left to be forgiven.
  17. By Jove! We’ve discovered the real source of the curse. B1GRED hasn’t been wearing his cornhead during games and his wife’s der weinerschlinger isn’t cutting it. Solich curse…pfffft.
  18. I have a question. How, if at all, has your life or finances been negatively affected by the Biden Presidency? I ask because you have said you won’t vote for Trump and plan to write in Desantis (which obviously won’t actually elect Ron). You seem to agree that Trump isn’t fit for the office and we don’t even need to consider whether or not he would in fact become a dictator (a point you have been hung up on for going on a few weeks now). Anyway, I’m curious why you won’t vote for Trump and, if that’s actually the case, why a write in vote for Desantis is the best you can do to keep Trump out of the WH. I mean that’s only a one person swing whereas a vote for Trump’s opponent would be…..well how did they phrase it in Dodgeball-
  19. I’ll say one thing for her, she’s really learned how to control her gag reflex.
  20. I have a feeling they don’t poll too well when she is in the public eye.
  21. To be fair, Kamala has probably called everyone a racist at some point.
  22. So Desantis says this about Trump a few days ago but now throws his support to Trump? I guess his convictions are …..nonexistent. Not surprisingly Despineless made a positive impression on somebody hereabouts. I can’t imagine being beholden to the R party and having to pick one of these jokers.

    NFL 2023

A better game than I hoped for. 3 lead changes in the 3rd. I need Niners -2.5, would prefer -6.5.
