  2. I had to go with the top choice in the poll. Yes Riley's first season was a disaster and there were some pretty concerning things with the level of effort towards the end of this past season, but I still feel the trend has been up and that brighter days are ahead for the program. I think there were 3 or 4 main things that contributed to the woes his first 2 seasons and IMO they all have been/are being addressed satisfactorily. 1-Pelini's departure was fairly rocky and I think that carried over with some of the players. Those issues should be pretty well cleared up just through the passage of 2 years time. 2- QB & Offense. We should now start seeing the offense this staff wants to implement. They had no QB for the system they prefer and now it looks like they will. If this pass happy crap is gonna work, it needs to start working this coming season. Nuff said. 3- The defense. I am most excited about the departure of Banker and the arrival of El Diaco. The 3-4 sounds very interesting but, at this point, anything different than what we've had will likely satisfy me. A little more aggressive and a tougher attitude sure can't hurt. I may be setting myself up for severe disappointment but I really expect a huge improvement here this coming year. And finally #4- Recruiting and athletes. Pretty pumped about this class and the job this staff been getting done on the recruiting trail. 20-22 rank, whatever it was, doesn't concern me as much as what this class looks like and I think it looks great. Filled the needs nicely with, IMO, generally better prospects than we have been getting in quite awhile. These guys are more than good enough to get the job done. It now depends on how well they can coach 'em up and if their systems are going to actually work in the B1G. The way I see it, excuses are now a thing of the past. They've got some athletes and they can run the offensive system they want. If I have any concerns it is that our OL may still not be where it needs to be but, that's all on this staff now. I'm very optimistic things are headed in the right direction and glad that any excuses should now be a thing of the past. Git R Done.
  3. Ha, necro recipe. I'd totally forgot about this. If I remember right the sauce was pretty darned good and close to what I remember at Spaghetti Works. I haven't done it again in a long time but this may spur me to do it again. The rest of the family are not fans of anything with beer in it. *losers* Anyway, let me know what ya think.
  4. These are a few my IT guy recommended for free stuff. Malwarebytes for scanning your computer and removing malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/ For anti-virus he said Windows Security Essentials or Defender is pretty good and also said AVG Free works pretty well. http://www.avg.com/ppc/ww-en/protection-ultimate-vs-free?dsc=4wf&d=20&h2=20&subh2=20&ECID=ad:go:se:US-EN-Antivirus-Brand-Search&gclid=CLiOrsuK8tECFRy5wAodsewN-g&gclsrc=aw.ds I have used Malwarebytes in the past and, if I recall correctly, it did the job.
  5. wth did i say? Oh it was nothing direct. It just occured to me when I was responding to you in teach's status. I realized that our position was probably very much the same yet the discussion seemed like we were opposed.
  6. I mean, who the F says these things to an ally and/or treats them like that? And, of course, President Bannon has to be there to curate everything. Gosh, excerpts like these are really disheartening for anyone hoping Trump will learn to be diplomatic. Please tell me this is fake news. Is it possible this is remotely true? No way in hell he had a discussion like that with the PM of Australia. If so, I seriously think he wants to be impeached. No way even the most hardcore supporter of his can think this behavior is acceptable. David Duke is still very happy with Trump Well yeah, but when I said "supporter", to me that implies a human being and that would rule out double D along with any other obviously racist pos's. I discount anybody that is that detestable.
  7. I think commando has finally made me realize why many in here didn't like my opinion of reviewing the vetting procedures. The problem is I have been arguing for something reasonable but that isn't anywhere close to what Trump is doing. My position has been, sure, review the vetting procedures, make sure they're up to snuff and make sure they're being consistently implemented. Period. That's it. That's what I felt was reasonable. But Trumper Tantrum is not limiting it to anything so reasonable. He's implementing bans and proposing ridiculous extreme vetting. I think my problem here has been that people are mistaking what I support as support for what Trump is doing. That couldn't be further from the truth.
  8. I agree both were not great candidates. The reality is that if Hillary had won, you would see maybe 1/10th of the negative comments on here that you are seeing about Trump. It's just the nature of how posters in this forum lean. Why? Hilary was almost as disliked as Trump, possibly more. I've got to agree that the negative comments would be much less but not for the simple reason of the "lean" around here. Yes it leans left here so Hillary's type of policies would generate less commotion. But Trump is generating negative comments in unprecedented and well deserved fashion. It's ten times as bad because he is earning that type of response. It's not because of the very real "lean" in these parts.
  9. I agree both were not great candidates. The reality is that if Hillary had won, you would see maybe 1/10th of the negative comments on here that you are seeing about Trump. It's just the nature of how posters in this forum lean. I agree that the majority lean to the left around here. That isn't really debatable imo. But, you also have to admit that Trump is in a league all his own when it comes to completely unpresidential behavior. And I'm not talking about the anti-establishment, do it different than Obama stuff. I'm talking about being rude to our allies, being inflammatory to a whole religion of people, and making terrible decisions about what people and groups he seems to favor and the type of people he is surrounding himself with. I wanted to give him a chance and I hoped he might get some good things done. He's pretty much used up my goodwill in a matter of less than two weeks. At the rate he's going, I'll be screaming for his impeachment before March. And I'm a pretty darned conservative, lifetime Repub (until about 2 years ago), wouldn't ever vote for Hillary type of person. Sorry but Trump is a complete a$$hat. Only reasonable thing he's done so far (and I'm not convinced he's actually going to do it in any sensible manner) is call for a review of our immigrant and refugee vetting procedures. And notice I didn't say the ban was a good idea- only the procedure review. And that is with the big caveat that the review doesn't focus on what religion or color a person is. I'm quickly becoming convinced he may be worse than most around here feared he would be.
  10. I have the feeling we're all going to want to drink A LOT over the next 4 years. I'll have a few with ya.
  11. I mean, who the F says these things to an ally and/or treats them like that? And, of course, President Bannon has to be there to curate everything. 12. Great job Mav. And also thanks to all you posters who add to the recruiting forum. I don't follow recruiting near as closely as many of you and that is why I don't post much at all about it. But I do read a lot of the threads and they're very informative thanks to Mav and you guys that know what's up.
  13. I'm not sure it's fair to label the over zealous far right tea party faction as representative of the GOP of small of government. They may have hijacked a controlling interest temporarily but they do NOT represent traditional conservatives. I don't consider myself Republican anymore but I'm still fiscally conservative and socially moderate. I like to think (maybe falsely) that I am not an extreme minority in this country. The problem is, there is absolutely nobody representing my views in government anymore. I guess maybe that's what I get for writing in presidential candidate "you've got to be f#cking kidding me?"
  14. The only thing I'd add at this point is, when you have the two terrible candidates we did, this bashing was basically inevitable. Of course people are railing on Trump, he's a frikken joke. If Hillary had won, she be taking a beating too. Although admittedly, probably not near as bad Trump. I mean you have to be pretty blind to not see the ridiculous and unprecedented and extremely unpresidential things he is doing. I am very happy I didn't vote for either one of them. Our whole political system is one big bad joke, evidenced by the scum too many people felt forced to choose from. One bit of advice, don't settle or rationalize a bad choice ever again. There were two wrongs in this election and people were duped into picking one of them. Just say no, polls and chances be damned.
  15. I'd like to hear more of your thoughts on how conservatives are wrong? Did I do it right? /jk
  16. Did Trump just threaten to invade Mexico? WTF is wrong with this guy? I'm seriously thinking he should be forced to undergo psychological evaluation and competency testing. I really thought he might reel the crazy in a little bit once he got in office but it seems to be expanding in every direction.
  17. Huskerboard has been proving this for many years.
  18. Okay, so do I have to hang around this fax machine all day?

  19. If I remember I'll ask my IT guy tomorrow. He always mentions a few I should try but I haven't really paid attention so I don't recall which ones.
  20. But I love arguing.....Heck most of the back and forth I have, with knapp in particular, is mostly just for the exercise of arguing. There is somewhat of an art form to doing it effectively and what better way to get better at it than to engage the master. Some people and possibly even knapp himself may think I really have a problem with him or his views. Nothing could be further from the truth. 99% of the time I either agree with him or at least respect his side of things and how he presents his argument. The people I don't respect are the ones who I usually won't engage in discussion with. Unfortunately, sometimes I do get emotional about it. But, if it's not worth getting a little emotional about, it's probably not worth arguing about in the first place. And while I'm at it, zoogs, dudeguyy, LOMS, NM and you Moiraine are some others who I really enjoy reading your take on things even though we don't always see eye to eye on political matters. You guys (and gals) help open up my mind to some other viewpoints. You can carry on a contentious conversation without resorting to unwarranted attacks or belittling others. There are others of course but you are some of the most active in the P&R forum so I thought it was worth sharing. .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.You and those darned symbol pictures. Do you have a book of those things or are you just way more creative than me? Not sure if you're telling me that's enough of the touch feely stuff or if you felt left out. If it was the latter, don't worry, I didn't mention the people I usually agree with or that I've never had cause to argue with....yet anyway ~《●●》~ see I suck at it.
