  1. So....did we finally make some adjustments with our pass D or did Allen just implode?

Well, it looked like we were out of position a lot the first half. Some of that got corrected. But I think the kid began to struggle and the better athletes took full advantage.

  2. Who is Oregon's quarterback? I want to do some name dropping before he is a Heisman front runner next week.

  4. I don't know about the rest of you but after last night's forum I feel even worse about either one of these yahoos ending up as Commander in Chief. We r f'd.
  5. It must really work. I installed the Twilight app on my phone last night, played with it for about 20 minutes right before bed and slept like a baby. In fact I had trouble waking up all day. Of course I attribute this to 20 minutes less of blue light last night and not at all to being dog tired when I got home from work.
  6. Quick question for you graphics/computer oriented people. Is there a simple program/feature built into Windows that will allow me to take a jpg photo and add arrows and/or text onto it? I've never messed around with pics that much.

Oh, yeah! Haha. That was probably the best solution all along when it comes to adding arrows & text. Good call, JJ :-)

I got yer cookie right here ZRod. ;p

      But seriously, thanks.

  7. Interesting. I had never heard that blue light suppresses melatonin that is needed to help regulate our internal clocks and lets us sleep better. Think I'll try it.
  8. Gotta get lucky once in awhile. If I could go 3-0 every week, I might get back into gambling. BTW, I changed my Nebraska points to -24. Not giving up 2 more than I have to;) Where are you getting your lines teach? I usually look at Vegasinsider and take the average or median. Not many books had many games up yet when I made my picks.
  9. I'd opt for playing them both, all 3 if you want to throw Tre in there too. I thought Newby looked as good or better than he ever has but I think Zig is better. If it's a goal line or an inside run and short yardage is needed, definitely Ozigbo. Guy won't go down without a fight. We're looking very good at RB, only concern will be keeping them all happy. Did Wilbon play? Is he hurt? Or is he just 4th on the depth chart now?
  10. Good review. I've only watched it live but it sure didn't seem to me that TA was struggling to throw the ball well. I was just giddy that Langs was sticking with the run even though it was working. I did think Tommy's arm strength looked very good, epsecially that 23 yard out to Moore in the 2nd (I think that was the one) he threw that on a rope while rolling out. Not sure how anybody can complain about his passing in this game. It's his decision making and getting through his progressions that have been the problem historically. I'm sure we'll see more of those problems but I was more than pleased with his performance against Fresno.
  11. Smoked a couple butts and tried the Amazing Ribs recipe this weekend. Really good stuff. I think I like it a bit better than the recipe I posted. Its a little sweeter and has a more complex flavor profile. Whereas the recipe I posted is more of a straight mustard and vinegar flavor that has a stronger pungent vinegar bite. Both very good but slightly different. I would definitely recommend either one as a staple to serve with your barbeque.
  12. I don't really care how they tackle as long as they get the job done. If the surest and most effective way leads to a couple targeting and ejection calls per game, so be it. Sure they can teach them to try to avoid it but the last thing I want to see is guys overly concerned about how to avoid the penalty. I don't want to see them headhunting or spearing or anything like that but judging off the 2 calls yesterday, I think we're just going to have to accept it as part of the game now. My personal opinion is the game is moving so fast and the players are so athletuc nowadays that all they can really be concerned about is getting the guy on the ground. The ones where they can pull up or alter their trajectory will be fairly obvious to the players. However, the other ones.....well, just tackle the sumbitch and hope it goes our way.

  14. I guess we were watching different games. What I saw was a 43-10 win and a few significant improvements that likely, if they had occurred last season, would've changed the outcome of all but 1 or 2 of our losses. Don't worry, I also saw the things that need work and I am not satisfied with where we are yet. But I do think offensive play calling, a willingness to establish the run, zero turnovers, Tommy not being made to be a pocket passer, a very capable stable of RB's, and O line improvement, to mention the big ones, are worthy of some praise and acknowledgement. Anybody who can't celebrate those things, at least a little bit, is going to struggle ever being satisfied. Good luck with your enjoyment of the rest of the season.
  15. A whole bunch of people and teams showed what is right and good about cfb today. Props to Fresno St, their coach, Gaglianone, Riley and staff and team and so many others for showing us all that there are more important things than the game itself. I'm sure Sam felt the love and appreciates it. Proud to be a Husker fan today.
  16. Yes, they finally showed that they are willing to do what works even if it isn't what their natural tendencies are. I don't think we have to worry a lick about them not throwing the ball more if that's what's needed. My fear will always be that they will abandon the run too soon but maybe they really are learning.
  17. That's the one constant in Husker football. Even if I don't agree with everything said it makes me optimistic that people are always wanting/demanding the best. I don't disagree. I also saw plenty of areas where we need to improve. But, I think if a person wants to avoid being perceived as overly negative, they also should acknowledge the things that improved and were done right. IMO there were plenty of both tonight but it's really nice to see so many good things for a change. I guess I forgot where I was for a moment there, hoping that some others would also acknowledge some of those good things.
  18. Good synopsis Mav, I like it. And NO, I wasn't hoping FSU would score 9 more towards the end of the game. What kind of monster do you guys take me for?
  19. 3 and 0. Pay the man, lol. We should keep track like every game is a $110/$100 bet, 3 "locks" per week. I'm +$300 and teach is -$120. Anybody else want in?
  20. I guess another thing to be learned is that some fans, when presented with numerous areas of vast improvement, will still bitch and moan after only one game. Not sure what it would take to get them to acknowledge the obvious areas of improvement instead of just focusing on the things that also obviously need more work. Enjoy the win and that at least some things improved ffs.
