  1. 1A- Its a wonderful life 1B- a chrismas story 3- jingle all the way 4- christmas vacation 5- scrooged Love Actually? Sounds like a chick flick, a genre I try to avoid at all costs.
  2. If we turned the ball over less, all these guys would conceivably get more touches. I keed, but seriously they would.

We lose to SD and you lose to Miami. I'd say we both better step our games up. As far as GOAT, I'd give the nod to Manning, but it's debatable.

      Well...at least one Manning didn't throw 5 INT's.

  4. Fairly f'd up. I don't think it was the bombers of 8% homebrew so much as the oatmeal cookies. Cookies you ask? Equal parts Goldshlager cinnamon schnapps, butterscotch schnapps, and Baileys Irish Cream- tastes like an oatmeal cookie, but it's a sipper, not a gulper. I gulped a few.....
  5. I can confirm that my kids Santa is white. Fact. But I would not be surprised if results vary.
  6. I'm assuming this is more of a knee-jerk reaction to the last 6 games or so as opposed to looking at the last three years or so. But I think your last statement is relatively accurate. Yeah, I suppose to some degree it was knee jerk and based primarily on this season (not only the last 6 games). On one hand, I realize it could have been even worse with all the injuries we had, so in that aspect, it would appear he earned some of that paycheck. But, on the other hand, I am still left scratching my head at the play calling by Beck at certain points and stretches of games. IMO he has a strong tendency to go away from what is working, I assume in some misguided attempt to be less predictable or more multiple and he has shown a tendency to try to fit square pegs into round holes- i.e. using TM as a pocket passer (Minny). I don't dislike the pass but it seems he has a tendency to panic and go to the air much more than our fairly successful rushing game would dictate.
  7. Oh that is freaking awesome. I was not expecting that AT. ALL. Literally ROFLMAO.
  8. Idk, probably the same reason I talk to my dog. It would be super cool if he ever actually understood me, so I keep trying. Normally I'd respond with a witty insult to this...but instead I'll just give you an e-pat on the head and think of you as a small child. You're right, that wasn't a witty insult. Thanks for going easy on me.
  9. I won't comment on the pay vs performance as it relates to this list, but why is Beck more than twice as much as Paps? From what I've seen on the field, these are basically the same two inexperienced coaches, and if anything, the play calling has been less questionable on the D side. Is it because Bo really runs the D and Paps is more of a figurehead play relayer?

  11. Devnet- Of course my perspective is skewed. Iw ould think anyone's would be if they were old enough to really experience any of the TO years. And, for people that date back to the Devaney era, it is likely even worse.. I spent the first 35 years of my life thinking being a top ten team was a birthright. But I underatand that the CFB landscape is different now. No, it is not as easy to constantly be in the top ten. However, I can still expect my team to show up for every game prepared, with a good game plan, and with reasonable a adjustments and decisions being made during the game. Just because things are different doesn't mean we have to accept playing only half games, getting blown out by any team that can even sniff the top ten, and regularly shatting the bed against what should be lesser opponents. This isn't about winning nine games or losing four games, it's how we play and being relegated to insignificance.. We haven't had anything to hang our hat on for about 13 years and it is wearing on a lot more fans than me. Even when people were complaining about Osborne, the fanbase still travelled to bowl games. Now back to the subject; if (and this is still a big if) our fans travel signifigantly less to this bowl game, it will have only a little bit to do with a rematch against Georgia (it is also a revenge game) and a whole lot to do with people being tired of our teams relative low level of play and being non-relevant in the CFB world.
  12. '87-'93 were tough years Yes they were, but not for nearly the same reasons. There was a belief that we "could" or "might" prevail and we were still in the mix of things, not outside the top 25. I have to believe there is a big impact on fan outlook for travelling to games when there is hope of a reasonable performance. There was a lot of criticism of Osborne, especially from '90-'92. A lot. everyone has selective amnesia...they forget that about 90-92. They also forget that Nebraska fumbled then just as much as we fumble now. Selective amnesia fits well. What's your point? I remeber the criticism of Osborne; couldn't win the big game, couldn't beat the florida teams, OU and Switzer had his number, etc. It doesn't have jack squat to do with my posts in this thread. First, I made the simple point that fan apathy towards our current bowl game has more to do with the current condition of this team than it does with our opponent. If you don't agree, fine, but I wasn't making a case against Pelini or really anything else. Then you want to act like a know-it-all about the Osborne years. I'm 50, I think I am well aware. Our current situation with NU football is nothing NOTHING like the Osborne era before Tom got over the hump with the big one. The only possible similarity is some discontent fans but Tom had a lot more success at that time than Bo has ever had. If Tom had regularly finished out of the top twenty, he probably would've been runoff. That doesn't remotely mean keeping Bo forever will yield anything approaching what TO did in his last eight or so years. He had 25a years of excellence. Bo has so far had zero.

  14. The only reason who we're playing has anything to do with it is because we are not playing very well or involved in any meaningful situation. Don't kid yourself into thinking this isn't a lot more about where this team is currently at than some rematch opponent. The only reason the Washington Holiday bowl rematch was like that was because it was a same season rematch and our team was not playing at a high level then either. I remember people constantly complaining when were playing Florida teams (Florida, FSU, & Miami) year after year after year but, the fans still travelled well. I might be a f'n fairweather fan but I have little desire to go see my Huskers get beat. It will always have more to do with how our team is doing than who the opponent is.
  15. I know many fans are not the Debbie Downer that I can be but there are many factors stacked against this bowl being a big draw for Husker fans. 1- Rematch 2- Not much reason to think our team will perform much differently than it did all season and that wasn't particularly good unless you like a solid 1.5 to 2 quarters max. of football in a 4 quarter game. 3- Our track record the last few seasons against teams with a heartbeat and lack of being competitive with them. I can't imagine too many fans want to spend that amount of money on travel when the rational expectation isn't extremely bright. IMO the rematch would not be an issue if we were playing at a higher level and if this bowl game actually meant something in the overall scheme of things. It's not like we're trying to hang on to a top 10 or 15 ranking or even to break into the top 25 with a victory. It's just kind blah at this point. Having said that, I am glad we're in a good bowl game and have a solid opponent. There are many lower level bowl games that we could have legitimately been stuck with and I've got nothing but respect for the Georgia program. I'll be cheering and hoping like hell that we play a good game, that our defense continues their improvement, and that something positive finally happens in the offense and special teams area. We need something to give us some hope and replenish the Kool-Aid jug. Recruiting has been a bright spot lately but the proof will always be on the field of play.
  16. Fairly reasonable list, surprisingly from ESecPN. Personally, I would think Oklahoma and Florida could drop below NU and that Georgia could have a problem with Auburn and maybe Miami being ahead of them. How in the hell is Florida a top 3 (or even top 10) gig?
  17. Uncle Mo, he's movin kinda slow here at the junction. Big Red Junction.

  19. Thanks Mavric As knapp said, you are a gentleman and a scholar for picking this up. It was a lot of fun 2 years ago.
  20. I like these dawg fans. I wish we played them every y..............oh........nevermind.
  21. I agree. I say the same thing about the negative nellies on message boards bashing Bo incessantly. You agree? How ironic that it was your post #16 that precipitated my comments, especially the "This is ridiculous" portion. I think you have trouble differentiating between legitimate criticism of the job Bo is doing or is likely to do in the future and blind Bo hatred. You seem to attribute any of the former to the latter, always. Do me a favor and don't agree with me until that changes. Thanks.
  22. This is ridiculous. Whoever did this is NOT a Nebraska fan. A fan does not destroy their teams chances with a recruit for ANY reason. On the extreme off chance it was perpetrated by a Bo hater, douchebag crossed the line and can no longer claim to be a fan. This was done by a person wanting to harm our program and in no way, shape, or form can they be considered a fan of Nebraska, so some of you can quit wondering if it was done by an actual fan- It Wasn't.
  23. I don't have a problem with this matchup. Sure, I would've preferred to play Texass. Sure, I might have preferred to have a different bowl opponent than we had last year. But, it could be much worse. We could be playing some nobody in a nowhere bowl for less money or we could be playing somebody that we have absolutely no chance of beating. Georgia is a classy blue blood program from the best conference in CFB and they happened to have very similar injury problems to ours. Also IMO we got a much better bowl than we deserved. It may be a rematch from last year but it does give us an opportunity to begin turning things around so I kind of like it. Just don't ask me how I liked it if we get our doors blown off.
