  1. We learned that we only have 7 days left to fantasize about our beloved Huskers chances for this season. I would love to be proven wrong but unfortunately I have watched every play of the first 4 games.
  2. Our defense is as effective as a crocheted condom.
  3. ya think? We made Price and now Smith look like hall of camera. I'm sticking with my same score prediction for next week. Ecept we get 13 and wiscy gets 55.
  4. Same as previous games- no dline pressure on their qb and our secondary is sucking still.
  5. Lmao at the announcer. strange throwing motion but accurate unlike martinez.
  6. Good thing it's wyoming. If it was a better team like millard south we would b in trouble
  7. hopefully that means we'll play up to our competition next week. what I mean is we need to start playing to our potential. Ugly wins against inferior opponents may get u to 4-0, but probably leads to 4-2 after 2 more games. Wiscy will embarass us.
  8. Simply patheti display no matter what excuses you delude yourself with. Playing down to the competition. BS.
  9. Problem is that we should be able to throw 3straight times without it being ugly
  10. 7-0 fairly pathetic considering what we should be doing to this glorified HS team.
  11. I have heard very similar talk from a usually reliable inside source. Supposedley Cotton did not work with the oline this week. It was Stai, one other name I forget and Milt T advising. Heard Cotton would be moving into fball operations office. Don't know anything about jamrog at this point.
  12. Based on Tenn Chat & Fresno games- Wiscy wins fairly easily. Based on Washington game-Wiscy still probably out scores us. Based on the improvements shown in our offensive unit, Wisconsins schedule thus far, the fact they have not had to deal with team speed like we have, and my eternal optimism that our defense has not yet shown many blitz packages and that they will finally perform up to their potential- NU has every chance in the world of beating Wiscy and playing a complete game at Camp Randall. Not giving the Skers a chance after 3 weeks of non-conf games seems very pessimistic to me. You have to make allowances for the potential that you know exists and weekly improvement trends. There that settles- I guess I'll watch the game after all.
  13. No, I don't, it makes me want to work harder and better myself in hopes that I will be able to replicate that other persons success. But I guess I'm a man and I have thicker skin than that. Call it iowa syndrom, there is no logical reason for all the hate. Well, at least wyoming fans can be pissed that we got the Bobfather from them, but most of them don't even know who he is or that he was their coach. Should we apologize for our past success and totally forget about it just because other teams haven't had that success? Thats just plain stupid. So you assert that Wyoming fans don't even know their own program's history, right after saying there's no logical reason for them to dislike you? Once again, I'm a hate, and let-hate kinda guy, so I love unbridled, illogical football fan animosity. What I don't get is the coy act of 'why do they dislike us?' and people being arrogant enough to write it off as jealousy, stupidity, or insanity. Maybe you "don't get" it because you have lived within 10 miles of Boulder for apparently 20+ years. That's bound to mess anybody up, at least a little bit. Trust me- I understand as I have lived in Northern Colorado for 25 years and am more than aware of the predominate liberal left lean and the typical CU fan mentality down in your neighborhood. If none of it can be attributed to inferiority complex or jealously of non-NU fans, then I guess you feel it is all actual arrogance on the part of Husker fans. Seems to me you might be one of those wussified traitors you mentioned earlier. Just sayin.
  14. Any upper tier program that has had any relatively high level of success in the past 30-40 years is going to be universally hated to some degree. Add in the fact that we share a border with Wyoming and the Devaney story and it will logically be exacerbated. Also, most any mid/lower level team (i.e. Wyoming) that really has not done much historically in their own conference, let alone nationally, is going to have somewhat of an inferiority complex. It stands to reason that they mistake our pride and support for arrogance. They have no idea what it feels like to be in our shoes and we really struggle knowing what it is like in theirs (although the Callahan years did shed some light). There definitely are a handful of insufferable Husker fans, as there are for any team but, it is not representative of the larger fan base. People that fail recognize that fact simply have some inferiority and jealousy issues. When provoked I will retaliate but, for the most part, I simply feel sorry that they have not had the same experiences we have as Husker fans. Or, maybe it is just their proximity to Colorado that skews their sense of how a real fan should act.....
  15. How were you able to sneak that hidden camera into my living room without me noticing?
  16. It won't be all whites. For wiscy they will wear white jersey, new black pants, & one sick matte black helmet. Don't ask for my source on this.
  17. 1,250--- The number of sheep that are nervous each night when the sun goes down in Laramie. Over or Under?
  18. I'll give you SC, FSU, & Oregon (not that I necessarily agree) but what about Boise State, Stanford, Okla State, and Tex A&M? Maybe we should be #8.....
  19. You can't say your first paragraph without taking the second into consideration. Rankings aren't based simply on quality of performance. There has to be a team ranked #7 in the country every week. If we arbitrarily say that being ranked #7 requires a team to have X number of losses and X offensive and X defensive stats, then you'd have a hole at #7 every year when nobody fits that criteria. Let's say a national champion should be a team with no more than one loss and with a SOS in the top 50. That seems more than reasonable, but it also means that there would be no #1 team in 2007. In fact, a strong case could be made that there should have been NO top-ten teams at the end of 2007 if we're just basing it off how teams look on the field and W/L records. It just doesn't work that way. You have to take the teams available, with all their flaws, and rank them in order of best to worst. Someone is going to be ranked in the top ten without having "worthy" stats every week, every year. Good job putting it in the proper perspective knappic. So, the more appropriate questions are; who that is ranked behind us is more deserving of being ranked ahead of us and is there anybody in the top 8 that we should be ahead of? It really is the better way to look at it.
  20. I always thought you had to wave for a fair catch and if you didn't you were fair game. Is this not the rule? Or did he wave for a fair catch? You are fair game if you don't wave for fair catch but they must also always give you the opportunity to catch the ball. If the kicking team touches the ball before it touches the ground or a receiving team player then the ball is dead at that point and it becomes the receiving teams ball. This is why an onside kick must hit the ground or touch a receiving player before it can be recovered by the kicking team. KCI #1- ball hit UW players foot first therefore correct call should've been to mark it dead at that point. Apparently the ref saw something else like a UW player touch our receiver or he mistook our own player hitting him as a UW player. So, KCI is a bad call but it is not the game changer people thought because it should've been dead and our ball not UW's ball. The only thing they have to complain about is the extra yardage for the penalty. KCI#2- Rex did not signal fair catch therefore he is eligible to get creamed however, the ref apparently felt the UW player hit him simultaneous to the catch and thus interfered with his ability to catch the ball. This is a judgement call and at game speed reasonable but arguable when reviewing in slomo. I don't think a judgement call like that can be reviewed on replay. KCI#3- Definitely good call. The onside/pooch kick did not hit the ground or one of our players therefore they could not hit our receiver before giving him an opportunity to catch it.
  21. never said it was good.... just pointing out there was some. and he got hit way more than 2 times..... come on now We both know our pass rush and D Line play was subpar and 180 degrees apart from the accolades and talk it has received. To be honest, I really only remember Price getting hit 2 times by our D line. No way it was "way more" than that. If upon another viewing I find that I'm wrong, I will come back on here and eat my words. well cam and crick had sacks and I know moore hit him twice while throwing because they show relays of them.. on a side note did anyone else get tired of the announcers talking about price? Upon re-watching the whole game and paying particular attention to pass rush pressure, I will say it was a little better than my initial feeling but Price still had way too much time a lot of the time. We actually touched him 6 times with linemen. And yes I am counting the time Crick crushed him as only a "touch". The 6 times I counted resulted in a sack or severe play disruption. There were other times he rolled/scrambled out of the pocket but did not appear the play was really disrupted. I am not counting the times we blitzed which wasn't often enough IMO but possibly the coaches are saving some blitz looks for better opponents. I got tired of most of the announcers commentary including the extra effort to mention Price every possible chance. The constant whining about the kick catch interference...upon replay the only remotely questionable 1 of the 3 was the hit on Rex and at game speed, who is to say it wasn't simultaneous to the catch. I will say that I was impressed with Price though- tough kid and real competitor.
  22. O-Line was much improved but game ball easily goes to Burkhead. He got a whole bunch of his yards after first, second, third contact. Coach ball goes to Beck. I am so glad Watson is gone.
  23. It really appears to me that the ball hit the UW players foot first. If that's the case, the refs blew the call technically but the net result did not hurt UW. When Rex got drilled it might have been a bad call but very subject to interpretation at game speed. The pooch kick call was the right call.
