  1. Have you even looked at the schedule next year? It's not any easier.
  2. Quite literally the worst two year stretch for a coach since Bill Jennings.
  3. Having Mariotta and Milton help. We'd win a few more games with them.
  4. Do we actually do anything well? Trash talk? Give well-worded press conferences? Anything else?
  5. Probably based off the two whole times they were forced to punt...
  6. If only he would've been interested in playing for us... If only Beck would have offered him a scholly to come to NU. Yep. Kind of ironic that Beck didn't want him here but ends up getting him at OSU.
  7. Eek. Yes. Carter had a couple of drops, and Stanley didn't have a very good night either.
  8. If only he would've been interested in playing for us...
  9. We blitzed early tonight but never connected on a tackle. I remember a big whiff by MRI.
  10. considering we had 123 at halftime...Losing your starting quarterback can do that...Let's not act like the game was going much different with our starting qb.Well, it was 24-3 and we were driving. Touchdown and it's a two score game. Still would have lost, but be honest, it'd be different.
  11. Not totally sure why, but this doesn't feel nearly as bad as that. Bad yes, but not as bad.

  13. NO NO NO NO NO. This coaching staff has had all season to see the looks and talent of Ohio St. It's not giving up on the players its me asking what the hell were they training and looking forward to all season...This is bogus...just bogus. We have no fight, no drive... we are showing no talent at all against this great Ohio St team....why? I say it comes down to coaching. We have great players but we need to build them... Questionable calling for sure, but players gotta make plays too. Whiffed tackles, dropped balls. Bad day from everybody
  14. Same here...I think we have the talent. Now the staff though.........at least the coordinatorsI think the opposite. Why do you think we have the talent ? Is that what you think is on display tonight? Two equally talented teams with one just being severely out coached ? I look at Carter, Westy, Reilly, DPE, Gerry, Kalu, Jones, Williams and don't see us that down in talent. On the ol, yes. DE, yes... but play calling blows. Langs is officially in the same boat as Watson and beck. Banker, please.Sorry, but it's not really close. Morgan is pretty much the only player on offense good enough to play on a team like OSU. Gerry would play on defense, and Carter at TE. The guys you listed are Nebraska player good, not start on a top 5 team good. Thats 19 out of 22 positions OSU has an edge. And unfortunately Morgan hasn't had a very good night.

  16. The biggest what if that I think about is what if Taylor Martinez never gets hurt in that Missouri game in 2010. What does the end of the season look like and what do the next years look like? He never looked quite the same throwing or running after that severe high ankle sprain. Beat OU for the conference championship, beat UCONN in the Fiesta Bowl, finish the season 13-1 or 12-2 Man do I wish we could have played UCONN that year. UCONN was still selling some of the Fiesta bowl T-shirts in the university bookstore up until a couple of years ago. I would have loved to been able to buy one and where it around campus.
  17. Oh man. Watching the game last night was almost exactly like watching us... Once Connor Cook would finally make a good pass, the receiver would drop it. Alabama got a good chunk of their points on deep balls when the defender was beat in single coverage. If Cook wouldn't have threw a pick at the end of the half, and they would have scored instead it may have been a different game. It felt like one of our games where we're not completely outmatched, and the game should have been competitive, but then everything snowballed.
  18. Final stats for the year: 434 rushing plays and 439 pass plays. Also, what I don't understand is just because a passing offense failed under BC at Nebraska doesn't mean a pass offense will never work here. That's a pretty small sample size, but everyone loves to extrapolate from it. I'm not saying one way or the other that this will work under Riley, but just because it didn't work under Callahan doesn't mean we can apply that experience here. It's not really a small sample size. It wasn't really successful at OSU I wasn't saying anything about whether any more passing oriented offense would work or not. For a lot of Husker fans, they base not wanting a passing offense purely based off of the results of a single coach here. Now if they mention that the top 4 teams right now have the following splits: Clemson- 527 run; 407 pass; 44% pass plays Alabama- 503 run; 364 pass; 42% pass plays Oklahoma- 541 run; 396 pass; 42% pass plays Iowa- 506 run; 309 pass; 38% pass plays This I find to suggest that Riley and co may want to rethink their game plan. I guess I'm just tired of hearing fans (not just here) use the singular case of- we sucked under BC, so obviously passing equals bad. I guess I'm just being a bit whiny.

  20. https://twitter.com/joshtweeterson/status/671734803805245440 Thought this was interesting and seems applicable here. Take it for what it's worth.
