  1. Would this be the one? http://www.oregonlive.com/collegefootball/index.ssf/2015/11/thursday_morning_news_notes_li_27.html And yes, I have also noticed as much from many Oregon State fans on their forums, even going back months ago. But like I said, I'm trying to remain as impartial as possible in this thread. yep that is the one!
  2. Adidas is bad. Really, really bad. All of their jerseys look awful, even their non-alt uniforms. Their alternative uniforms they create are so bad. I know Nike produces some terrible alt unis, but in a way some of those alts are cool. Adidas is just pathetic. I wish Adidas would drop football sponsorship and just let the market go to UnerArmour and Nike.
  3. from the Oregonians online newspaper. well for whatever reason I cant post the link. Oregonlive.com But basically Oregon sports writer write about the failure of riley at Nebraska. Most Oregon State fans post comments on there saying they saw this coming and Riley has been on a downhill since 2006. Most Beaver fans feel bad for Nebraska and realize he brought a mediocre staff to Nebraska. Also most see him gone after next season.
  4. Your last paragraph there is spot on. And Herman to Texas is a great fit for him because he already has that Texas pipeline. Fuente is impressive, as he built a nothing program into something. However, if Riley is gone after a year (due to firing) I don't think Nebraska can even get a guy like him. Really the only person I could see willing to come into that situation is Frost. But I would be much more patient with a young Frost then an aging Riley in a rebuild mode, since apparently that is what Nebraska is in right now. Now, if Riley is to resign at years end, maybe we are open to obtain bigger named coaches.
  5. 1. I dont think Nebraska's next head coach would also be a candidate for those other openings. USC and Miami will have their choice of coaches, and i dont think they would be the same type of coach Nebraska would be after. 2. Next year, when it will be more "acceptable" to fire Riley there will be another huge batch of openings that we will have to compete with. Texas will probably be open, a few SEC schools will probably be open. Point is, every year there are a lot of schools with openings. You can't decide to retain someone who is not a good fit because other schools are also firing their coaches.
  6. Doesn't the B1G money come into effect in like 2017?
  7. changes NOW: 1. Reduce penalties 2. Run more 3. If the problem is indeed some players not buying in, then sit them down. Don't care if its a team captain. You are the HEAD COACH, its your rules or the highway, if you have some people not buying in, sit them down, and later re-evaluate their contributions to the program later. As a coach, if you continue to let players who dont buy in or listen play and let alone START, you are creating a bad atmosphere within itself, what sort of message is that sending everyone else? 4. For short term, unless being coached or getting a short rest, make a rule stating no player shall sit on the bench, and be engaged in the game at all times. At years end. Get rid of Banker. Seriously, I am willing to give Riley and Langsdorff one more year, as for whatever reason part of me thinks Langs can actually do something given the right tools. Banker is a fraud, and has been for more than a decade. Got to get rid of Banker.
  8. I concur with the #9 MSU 2011 and #7 Missouri 2010...However, I did not feel like Missouri was a "real" top 10 team that year...This Michigan State team could very well win the conference and get into the College Football Playoffs. A Nebraska win, given the turmoil of the program, would be epic proportions. Probably as big as Oklahoma 2001, but in a different sense. A Win vs MSU this weekend and suddenly there is glimpse of hope we may even win out and go bowling...
  9. the unfortunate thing is there is no one to hand Harvey the pink slip, and his pink slip has all the other pink slips attached to it.
  10. AD's coming out to show their coaches support mid-season is known as the "kiss of death" does it have the same meaning for AD's bosses who come out mid season to support them?
  11. You want to know who Frost would bring in? Well, I'll tell you who! Man, do I got a name for you! Just proves Scotty's our man. Frost's epic first hire Well done.
  12. Someone fire Eichorst now before he gets an extension and his contract buyout is even more expensive come June.
  13. We can only hope Riley is such a nice guy he realizes this isnt the place for him and he resigns after this year. He has got to know if he is retained next year is going to be worse as far as hot seat and critical dislike from the fans. Because next year given all the other new positions, you can justify firing him. Next year is going to be even more scrutinzed for Riley. Hope he realizes that and just leaves town come December.
  14. Our recruiting sucks anyways. Not having Riley on for an extra year will do nothing with recruits, and if so, Nebraska can replace those 2* with other 2*'s. Nothing is guaranteed. Eichorst and Riley should be looking for jobs elsewhere if they want to continue to work in this field in the near future.
  15. Here's the thing, Riley must fire Banker to save his job.
  16. Because Vegas knows Riley is poised for a huge upset. He gets one every year. This is that game.
  17. I'm a bit worried, I hope when you say there is not going to be an offseason fire in May means this staff is gone after the MSU game or end of season.
  18. What guys in this system aren't suited for this system? What guys are currently being recruited that will be suited for this system? O'Brien is supposedly the next Peyton Manning.
  19. This staff got their butts handed to them by Oregons system for 7 straight years. Oregon did the same thing over and over for those 7 years, this staff lived only 45 miles away from what was happening in Eugene and they couldn't figure them out. Riley and co. will get severly out coached vs the Ducks. This game is going to be unbearable.
  20. IF Riley stays, thoughts on bringing in Pep Hamilton as OC? He ran the offense at Stanford with Harbuagh. Its power football like Stanford. Sure he didnt make it in the NFL, but how much of that is on Pagano?
  21. This is just not good when everyone and their mother, including the AD is coming out and making statements about just how bad this is. He's 9 games into his tenure LOL
  22. People will say firing Riley may hurt our recruiting class, well its already established our recruiting class is nothing great. But the national laughter and the uncertainty of Riley's future is going to ruin our recruiting as well....Everyone knows Riley wont be here longer than 3 years. There is just no way, we will never have an established recruiting class while Riley is here because other coaches are just going to grill us. The only plus side to hiring Riley was he was a "nice guy" give the program a better image. can only hope he was planned to be a short term solution to a long term problem. Just bring in Frost already.
