If you can’t win with recruiting classes of this caliber then how can you win with recruiting classes that are ranked 74th in the country. I would rather have a coach that can get much with less than less with much. I would still take fickell, Campbell, and DeBoer before Herman.

He defends his coaches and says they are doing everything they can. Do you believe Verduzco and Greg Austin are doing well? How about Dawson and special teams? Frost is loyal to his coaches and to Martinez. He would rather go down with the sinking boat than fix the damn boat.

I am sorry but if Herman couldn’t recruit in Texas for UT, I seriously doubt he can be successful in Nebraska. I would take him out of the mix.

I like early games. This game will be over by half time and we can enjoy the rest of the afternoon with our families.

I honestly do not see Kiffin working out at Nebraska. I believe that Campbell would be even more successful at Nebraska than he has been at Iowa. It is not that hard to dominate the WEST division in the BIG. It does not take much to make the BIG championship game. One can argue that we have more talent than any of the West teams yet we continue to get much less with much more talent. Martinez is talented but the coaches are not developing him and are not preparing him well. They want to make a pocket passer out of Martinez but we all know he is no pocket passer. He is best running the option and using his feet. Instead of developing that talent, they insist on transforming him into a pocket passer. A good coach would be able to turn things around very quickly especially given our easier schedule next year. All it takes is one good season for a coach to build on. Frost has had four horrible seasons and nothing to build on. We witnessed a mass exodus because of his stubbornness. Think about it, if you were a back up QB and the guy in front of you committed 4 INT in one game and the coach is still preferring him over you, wouldn’t you enter the transfer portal? What about Yant? The way Frost calls plays and insists on doing the same crap that gets us nowhere is the reason why good talent decides to move on. That is why our recruiting classes have been horrendous. A good coaching staff will be able to turn things around quickly. At this point, we cannot do worse than what we have. I would even consider giving Chinander a shot.

The problem is that we still have many koolaid drinkers that will jump on the wagon if we keep the Ohio state game close. They are happy with moral victories. I do not mind moral victories if they lead to something tangible. In our cases, our moral victories led to losses to Minnie and Purdue. I look at Mel Tucker, he was able to turn things around quickly at MSU and they beat their instate rival twice. He is competing for the playoffs in his second year. He has less talent on his team than us yet he and his coaches are able to coach these players and get them to compete on the field. Our issue is not our players but the way they are coached. If you recruit your own players and then you claim they are uncoachable then that is still on the coaches. Time for excuses is long gone. Put out or get out.

This thread is redundant…we already know how the team is going to respond. If after two weeks of preparation, they could not beat Purdue at HOME in front of a supportive fan base, we are expecting this team to beat Ohio state, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Sure, dream on. Frost has no answers and he cannot come up with a game plan. His game plan is trial and error and most of the time we end up with error. They always say that the team takes on the character of their coach. Well, based on how these guys are playing, it shows that Frost has no idea what he is doing. His stubbornness to keep Adrian in the game after 4 INT tells you that he will not make any changes to coaching staff because he simply does not believe that anyone is at fault. In his head, it is kids not executing the plays correctly. After 4 years if you do not think you are doing something wrong when you managed to lose more close games than any other football team in the nation then you are delusional and should not be a HC. We all wanted Frost to succeed and we all were patient. Keeping the attendance record alive through four losing seasons is the proof that this team has had our support. Frost failed…no hard feelings…thank you for trying but let us turn the page and move on from this never-ending nightmare that repeats itself week in week out.

I would gain so much respect for him if he did so but I seriously doubt he would do that. With his record, he would be lucky to get a coordinator job. He will collect his $20 mil.

I learned that the “what did we learn?” Threads at this point are just a waste of time. Summary: Frost bad, Martinez worse, chaos is not a game plan, and what we have is not working and will never work. Time to turn a new page and burn the last seven years of our memories of husker football. We suck is a compliment at this point.

FROST is not a good coach. He is clueless and it rubs on his players. No imagination or ability to utilize his weapons. You can give him 100 years, he is not changing. Good coaches show their talent immediately. Today’s game comes after a bye week…a bye week for God’s sake.
