They're kind of where Northwestern was last year or maybe two years ago. Get ready to get real sick of hearing the name Bohannon in the next few years.

@teachercd I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Big Ten is going to be really good this year. The name on the front of the jersey doesn't have any bearing on how good that team's "good" is. Northwestern being a top ten team doesn't somehow make playing them easier than a top 10 Ohio State. Nebraska will be fortunate to avoid playing on the first day of the B1G tournament.

Tell Iowa fan that they aren't your rival. That you value all opponents (and your desire to beat them) equally. You have no "rivals", that it's all about how your 'Clones are doing and what they need to do to get to the playoffs...that should really piss them off. Worked with us and Colorado anyway. We haven't played them for damn near a decade and we're still the ones they talk about (and hate) most.

I've always been astounded myself how this myth perpetrates itself. As if it were an actual thing and Nebraska was the only place that utilized this mythical loophole. I mean you could bet the farm if NU used "county scholarships" that approximately 100% of the rest of Div 1 would as well without hesitation.

I don't think he's available, in fact I believe he actively hates UNL, but I really like Jamie Pollard at ISU. Rick George at Colorado has done some pretty nice things, but CU fans seem to think he's destined to be a league commissioner soon - so probably not interested in a lateral move to any University, especially not Nebraska (whom they still consider a bitter rival). So yeah, that's a couple of guys I don't think have been brought up here yet...

If we hadn't committed pass interference and had a horse collar tackle on that final drive, none of it would have even come up. Maybe there are some NU fans that honestly believe the Huskers got screwed there - I don't personally know any - but any rational Husker fan would readily agree we gave that game away long before the "review" came into play. We were playing on our heads that night anyway and the luck just ran out, IMO. Texas was easily the better team in that game (even though we had the best player) so it was kind of a miracle we were even in the position to win anyway. But he did say he thinks there are NU fans that claims that game was "one of the reasons" for leaving: ...which is what kind of set me off I guess. It's a tired old retread talking point that was never even remotely accurate.

Point taken. It's just conference realignment talk is just so tedious and boring to me. I don't know if you visit other message boards that have active realignment discussions - I lurk on a couple and they are absolute cesspools of ignorance mostly and while this poster has (so far) come in what appears to be good faith, you can see that he's starting to edge on the danger zone of completely false memes in the realignment discussion arena. Namely, "Nebraska left the Big 12 because Texas won the 2009 championship". To even think that's in any way even a remotely decent reason to leave a conference is so terribly feeble-minded I can't even begin to describe. I'd only imagine there's more to come. But, I digress...carry on.

dammit @Ostateman take this s#!t to LandThieves, nobody here gives a flying crap about re-hashing all of this stuff ad infinitum...we've moved on...you all should too. Big 12 is a fine conference for what it is. Revel in it. But don't expect to go trolling for regret on forums of schools that left and get what you want.
