  1. The biggest problem I saw was when the Qb hit the guy at 5 yards when there was another guy at 12 yards wide open. Yes I know I can complete a 12 yard pass. I ran scout team QB twice while in college.
  2. If they are heading into Norman at 3-0 I wouldn't count it as an automatic loss like some people. A little confidence can go a long way. They should know they haven't really played anyone but if they are playing well and have stayed healthy anything can happen. But say you stomp Forham then squeak by Buffalo and Illinois then I would call it an L in Norman.
  3. Shock Doctor makes a thick two sided mouth piece that I would recommend to anyone who has kids playing football
  4. I think Gabe Ervin is gonna be pretty good. Needs to work on his rec but I will take a RB that can bust some runs with stone hands over what we've had.
  5. Kpai was the one I was thinking of. Thought I heard his name as someone who has shown some flashes. They still have 3 guys who have played the position in games so I'm not too worried
  6. I don't know but my response was a play on what Frost said about Joe Burrow
  7. plus wasn't there a freshman in there that was doing pretty well?
  8. is he better than the guys we got? I'm not sure
  9. I figured the Friday ground breaking was a recruiting tactic for anyone who was going to be in town on Friday. They get to go watch it and see the plans and be excited for the future.
  10. I think maybe we should go back to the cheap plastic helmets with webbing in them. My father wore them in the 60s through HS and college. Less concussion cause you aren't leading with your head wearing those things every play
  11. Well If I counted correctly texas had more players on the list as worst. Sucks for Trev to be on the list but Lawrence wasn't a "bust" because his talent.
  12. better throw the ball to Manning 30 times during the scrimmage. "that could be you son"
  13. it's not that hard for the defense to win scrimmages. They see the offense everyday. In college I knew what all the audibles were and was used to play calling tendencies. Yeah the offense can still make plays but I'm pretty sure most of those guys know what is coming and its just go stop it.
  14. to me, Yant and Stepp look like they are the same type of back but I would give the edge to Stepp because he already has the experience. Stepp isn't as heavy tho. Yant is a big boy but he runs to straight up to me. There is a lot of time between now a fall so maybe Yant does improve and make a case for lots of carries.
  15. Just from what i've watched in the practice clips. He may get playing time if the other 3 guys ahead of him can't stay healthy. I could be wrong but its just seems like he will be just another RB that gets high praise in the spring only to never be heard from again.
  16. I'm willing to bet he won't see much playing time sans a blow out
  17. key word "should". As a Nebraska fan I think most of us have that phrase in our head. Nebraska should be a decent football team. Haven't seen it in a while tho. We return most of our team minus 4 contributors. We should be a decent team this year. I agree with a previous post that this is the most important game of the year. Sets the tone.
  18. Is there something in the rule book that says a possession rec has to be slow? I just meant he seems to be the most reliable and would probably be the go to on 3rd and med stuff. Maybe I don't remember but I thought he caught most of his pass underneath or in the 10-15 range last year. Don't know if they are going to start using him to take the top off the defense. If he can do it I'm all for it. I just hope someone has a break out year
  19. Betts looks pretty fast and quick in his movements, Martin just looks like one of those solid possession rec, Manning "looks" like a stud. If they all stay healthy losing Wandale might be addition by subtraction. There won't be one guy they are force feeding the ball too. I hope to god we hit the TE on the seam this year. Always seems to me they do in the first game and then the rest of the season they are running up field waving their hands in the air and the ball goes underneath somewhere.
  20. To me Penn St was not playing good football when we played them. Rutgers did well for Rutgers but I didn't think they were very good.
  21. The two they mentioned, Penn St and Rutgers. Those are were not good teams.
  22. I'm glad Payne could show flashes against two of the worst teams they played.
  23. Westfield isn't too far from where Randy Gregory and Colling Miller are from. Maybe that will help that they did pretty well at Nebraska.
