  1. I would take Tim back with open arms at this point. Fred just isn't working... At all.
  2. I get your point but the stats do mean something. We have done a lot right and truly were very close last year. I think that plays a pretty big part in offseason motivation, some players decisions to stay, Frost getting another year, and recruiting. It also added immensely to the entertainment value of the games. Heartbreaking in the end but most of the games last year were exciting to watch- at least up until Minnesota.
  3. That would be awesome for our family and many other families with kids that hunt. April 9th is opening day of youth turkey season. The kids only get one weekend of youth only so mine will choose turkey hunting but I know they would love to go to the game as well. An evening game would allow them to do both.
  4. The vultures in the media will probably find ways on higher profile players. I do agree, it's a good thing to keep it private for players just wanting to test the waters without dragging their name through the media gutter. Good change that hopefully works. The only negative downside is we may see a lot more kids testing the waters if they feel they can keep it private.
  5. I'm not sure it is wasted but I get where you are coming from. IMO, we are seeing the wild west days of NIL but it will likely become more regulated. I think we will see a salary cap/NIL limit making facilities investments necessary to stay competitive.
  6. I knew I shouldn't count on you to be a deep thinker. Yes, you do have a small part of the responsibility. For the record I like our fan base. That support is what will hopefully lead us out of the mess we are in. That said... Nebraska doesn't have as much of a revolving door at the head coach position if the fans aren't calling for people's heads. How would the team be today if we had a little more patience with Solich or any of the others?
  7. You do remember Frost starting a true freshman on the o line last year, right? Name a position a backup hasn't been tried. You also complain about recruiting to many receivers but seem to forget that we had huge receiver depth issues in 2020. I get it. You want it to be better and you want a smoking gun. My advice is to look in the mirror. I think unrealistic fans are as much to blame as anything over the last 20 years.
  8. Scholarships were limited during the last few years TO coached. Solich was the first coach here who dealt with the limit his entire head coaching career. Not sure how else to say this to you. If you have a good player, capable of contributing, that is 3rd on the depth chart, he will be transferring to start somewhere else. We currently have 10 scholarship D linemen, 19 scholarship linebackers, and 14 scholarship O-Linemen. I included the linebackers because of how Nebraska uses them. Our scholarship numbers line up with the schemes we run.
  9. Scholarship limits changed the game. We can't go back to the way it was, no matter how many times you type it. The "lack of depth" isn't the past coaches faults, it's the NCAAs.
  10. You guys really find it necessary to bash on a kid who doesn't even play here anymore? Seriously guys, give it a rest. Let the people excited about the changes enjoy it. If you want to be mad, go read the Nebraska Hate Thread on the CU forum.
  11. Quoting one of our 22 year old black players... "This is just stupid. The Karen's need to shut the f up...". I think people from many walks of life are tiring of the BS in our society. However, I don't fault the school for making the change. Just wish it hadn't been announced.
  12. On a year where they happen to have their once a decade superstar QB.
  13. The same staff that just went undefeated and beat auburn in the post season. Get real. Easy to criticize after the fact but the reality is nobody could have predicted the last 4 years. BM may have sucked at parts of his job but he brought in staffs that were, on paper, awesome. That's all any AD can do.
  14. So much of a coaches performance really boils down to the athletes he brings in and the energy he can create. I'm also very optimistic about him.
  15. Just a crazy set of circumstances. Guessing there will be a movie about it some day.
  16. I'm not sure it will take an epic meltdown. I personally believe that Frost has to make a bowl game next year to coach in 2023.
  17. That said, I'm with you. Time to get it done or get out.
  18. Actually it's the start of the offseason... It's time to over analyze everything and make unrealistic predictions based on many players and coaches who don't have a single game under their belt at Nebraska.
  19. Deal. You know there is a chance some books are over and some are under making it a draw.
  20. Or NIL money. His name and face are worth something in Nebraska right now.
  21. He is living in the days of no scholarship limits... Even Alabama struggles to keep 3 deep at every position.
  22. Just January through June. I couldn't stand any longer than that lol. To be clear, our wager is on the Vegas over under, not the actual win total.
  23. Excellent! Now we have to figure out the stakes lol.
  24. Last year the over under was 6. Compare the two schedules. This year will be set at a minimum of 6.5. that's reality. Nobody has a clue what the actual win totals will be... It's all a guess obviously. On paper, Nebraska should win 7+ games. I personally believe it happens this year simply because it's extremely rare for a team to continue underperforming for so long. Eventually all teams statistically balance. Why not this year for Nebraska?
  25. Unless Piper drops a set he isn't going to play a significant role. All the physical gifts in the world but kind of a chump at heart....
