  1. BM said he doesn't fire during the season. It would look pretty bad on him if went against his word this early in his tenure here.
  2. Our next coach, whether Frost or someone else, is coaching their own team through the remainder of the season. Firing him now accomplishes absolutely nothing other than costing the university more money because they would have to pay interim pay to someone for two games.
  3. Any bets a member of Frost's family is on here posting just for fun? I would so be that guy lol...
  4. Gebbia seems like he has a lot of the tools and the work ethic to make it. I'm guessing he could be successful in Scott's offense.
  5. The only comments I am aware of have been when questioned specifically about Scott.
  6. Mavric, Wood River is a long ways from York...FYI. Or am I missing someone else you are referencing?
  7. I believe there are a dozen or so coaches out there that could, if given enough time, produce the results our fan base is begging for. I believe Chip is on that list but...I'm afraid the list of coaches we are willing to give the time to is extremely short. I'm not sure anyone not named Frost would be given enough time. Maybe Chip's past record would buy him enough patience?
  8. I wouldn't be upset either way... In Moos I trust. Basically because I don't have a choice lol.
  9. Coaching at TN is a whole lot better spot than Mississippi State... even if just to move to the SEC East and get away from playing Bama every year.
  10. I think the good people of Nebraska would choose the cancer cure... geesh
  11. The reality is Scott knows he has his pick of the available jobs. No reason to play BS games with it.
  12. But Kelly should be on the short list... Les Miles should not imo. I can't stand they guy and I'm guessing a good portion of Nebraska fans feel the same way.
  13. In other news, Scott and Ashley Frost contact the authorities about claims of Nebraska Forum members stalking their family... protection orders to be issued soon.
  14. There is a football game this weekend? I'll be deer hunting in Western Nebraska without a thought or care about Nebraska football. Hope the boys can pull off a win for the sake of the seniors... It may be the last win of their college career.
  15. To put it bluntly, some parents wouldn't want their kids playing for that coach. I don't share that view point but there is no denying the stigma that some people have towards the religion. Google is your friend- your a smart guy do some research and you will find a gob of answers. I am not interested in getting into a debate with you if that is where you are headed.
  16. Or he wants the world to think that so his long term coaches won't hate him after he is fired...
  17. Lame attempt BigRed... but it sure seems to be working lol.
  18. Bill Moos does talk the talk very well... I already like him better than I ever did SE. But that isn't saying much lol.
  19. Husker_Bohunk, IMO hiring an LDS coach is a bad idea. While the university can't discriminate, they can choose who to pursue. I have nothing against anyone from that religion, but I do believe it could negatively impact recruiting.
  20. Maybe I'm alone but I have honestly just lost interest in all of it. Don't really care what Riley, Diaco, Banker etc even have to say. It all doesn't matter any way- what happens on the field isn't going to change. I'll be glad after the Iowa game just so we can turn the page and see what BM has in store for NU. Whatever his decision, at least the speculation will be done and we can mentally move on.
  21. While I do believe your point is valid, I have to point out another obvious thing you aren't mentioning. The media ask stupid questions to every coach in the nation. Some coaches do better than others with those answers. I believe we are paying Diaco enough money to expect him to be able to answer the bird brained silly questions without looking like an idiot.
  22. So many people are just waiting to pounce on the next tidbit of news. The writers are loving you guys. Almost every talented freshman in the country gets considered for multiple positions. The reality is that JD could likely help at just about every skill position a team put him in.
  23. I understand your point... but if we have to pay him millions anyway why not get something out of the pay. He is a well liked guy nationally that could certainly help in some capacity. I'm trying hard to understand why people can't see that some kind of position change would be beneficial to the overall athletic program. What could it hurt?
  24. I won't pretend to be smart enough to know what capacity Riley could be retained to assist the University. I do know that he is a great man of character and could be an asset in some way without detracting from a new coaches position. I think retaining him could make the transition very smooth and also allow a great guy to retire with dignity. While he may have short comings as a head coach, he has a ton of experience running an overall program with integrity and class. These things were missing before he came here... I would hate to see us take a step back.
  25. Only way he "steps down" is if Nebraska agrees to pay his buyout. He is a nice guy but not a fool. He won't just walk away from millions of dollars the university is obligated to paying him. I really hope we can find a way to retain him in some capacity.
