On a somewhat related topic, do you know what event started the over protective parent craze? I went to a conference a few years ago and it was discussed.

Cars, guns, and many other things cause more issues than FB. They aren't being eliminated anytime soon. I don't think it will be eliminated, but maybe changed. Participation will be reduced.

Not to be a smart ass, but military members also are in leaders in CTE. Armed Forces Vets are also on the list. So I guess military is out too, but I don't think I saw police on the list?

I believe it is a mistake to not allow you children to play football because the CTE data. I would have been really ticked not to be allowed to play a sport that I am gifted to play. I played all the way through college. Again, with new protocols, new equipment, and new rules, the game is as safe as it has been. I ask people not to be so short sided with their own kids. If you think football is too dangerous, please don't let them do any sports, it can happen in almost any sport. Even our VB girls have gotten them. Also please don't let them Ice Skate, Roller Skate, skate board, ride a horse or even get in a car. These are also activities I have seen our kids get concussions. Please don't be so short sided. If you don't allow your kid to play football, then please stop watching the game altogether. It makes you a hypocrite.

The worst head injury I ever saw live was a HS girl's soccer game. She was out of sports for 3 months. I thought she was dead. Like I say, girl's soccer is catching up with FB with head injuries.

You are correct, but I am not seeing them as much in HS football either. The game has changed. I have people ask me if I worry about my son playing FB. I said I worry more about the white suburban males who have seen the suicide rate go through the roof. I worry more about the issue of drinking and driving. I think it is a lot of noise by people who are worried about everything. I frankly worry more about youth sports where the coaching is so bad, kids learn bad technique when they come to HS. I would rather see youth FB turn into flag football and teach kids proper techniques when they get to HS or at least 7th grade. The meatheads in youth sports especially football scare me more. You won't have to worry about HS football head injuries and kids are being driven away from the game by over protective parents who have no idea the risky behaviors their teenages and engaged in every day. I heard a month ago he was gone from ESPN, I guess he "resigned." Head trauma stuff is getting a little old. I would like to see data from the new equipment and new protocols that they now use in football. I won't miss him. I thought he was annoying and spent more time grandstanding than actually covering the game.

Most rules like that are governed by the conference. If there is a rule, it may not matter because in is a non-con game.

Did he get recruited by Alabama or Clemson?

I am guessing there are about 13 different guys that play depending on the defensive package called. The others may be in tight battles.

I think Yuengling and Brats for this game. I may make some of my cranberry/sauerkraut topping. It is great stuff, but nobody else in my family likes it. I usually make ti for the first game.

I heard they wanted to RS him, but he has shined so much in practice they can't. Is the best RB in open space. Best RB on swing passes. He could be best RB by years end? Who knows. These are things I just hear.

I am hoping it speaks to the quality of depth!

OWH and LJS write the stuff they do for clicks. Sipple and Lee like to write things to stir up crap, it gets them clicks. It is the way of the newspaper world now. I choose not to look at the articles. They usually lack substance and only generates emotion.

Games today, like CSU vs. OSU were called week 0 games. They said there were special stipulations to get to play these games. Not sure what they were? CSU opened a new stadium?

I heard a couple times today there are special considerations to get a week 0 game. Anyone know what they are?
