  1. It's the most glaring problem with the D, I'm sure they'll do their best to address it - the bad thing is everyone needs elite pass rushers. Lots of competition for those dudes. I don't think the offense has been night and day better then the D. I do think the big difference is, it appears the offense has the pieces to get us where we need to go - QB room is impressive and young, RB recruiting has been very impressive from what I've seen, Wandale has all-conf potential, OL seems to be getting one Army All American type per class. I don't know if we have the guys on the roster or in the recruiting class that are capable of making a big jump in stopping the run/pressuring the QB.
  2. I'm not gonna speak on Chin before his time at Nebraska, I really didn't watch UCF outside a couple of games. I don't think the things Chin's Defenses do well, put us an a place to win games in the B1G. Ive been happy with the pass defense for the most part, our secondary is solid - make any DB cover a guy for 8 seconds and you're gonna have a breakdown - that's not on them. I'm not going to complain about our ability to face turnovers either. I think that has improved since Chin arrived. The two things that have been outright bad - ability to stop the run when it matters and ability to get to the QB. What worries me is in the B1G, not being able to do those two things are going to get you beat 99% of the time by Iowa, Wisconsin, Penn St, Ohio St, Michigan - and its probably gonna get you beat at least half the time by everyone else in the conf. I really hope we can get difference makers at LB and DL, I'm not huge into recruiting so I have no idea if help is on the way on those fronts.
  3. It’s interesting. No matter our age, I think we’re all slowly realizing Nebraska Football will never be what it was when we all latched on. I know I’ve looked at my 5 month old and realized Nebraska Football will never be to us, what it was to me and my dad as I grew up. I can understand that thought being jarring for a lot of people, because it sucks.
  4. You also have to wonder if Frost would have brought in the Riley 4 stars, so while we do have some talent, it’s not talent hand picked to be in Frost’s system. Also 4 of those guys are DBs which is probably are strongest unit! My gut feeling is in 4 years, when we look at the high 3* and 4* guys Frost has brought in, this conversation is going to go very differently.
  5. Great post! Love the info. I like to think there are three categories that will dictate how far a team goes (an oversimplification but it’s how I picture it). Talent, Effort (“want to”) , Scheme. Teams like Wisconsin have maxed out scheme and effort but lack talent. Teams like Bama have maxed out all three. Teams like FSU have talent but lack the other two. I think when Frost took over all three categories were bottom of the barrel. Progress has been made on all 3 fronts, but as your numbers show, there is a long way to go on the talent front, and that’s the hardest one for ANY team to correct. I’m hoping by the end of the year we see strides in effort and scheme - the talent we will have to be patient on.
  6. I agree with you, and I think Frost and his coaches are strong enough to run their locker room this way. I do think at this time, this staff has given Mo ample opportunity to succeed here and wouldn't fault them if they moved on. I think you need to prioritize the 149 other guys in the locker room, that are following the rules, that are showing up, that are putting in the work. It's almost not fair to them if you continue to give someone not invested the same opportunity as the kids that are invested.
  7. If coaching and program management was like NCAA football, I’d have put that bum Saban in his place years ago, probably could have even done it at a school like UAB.
  8. My hope is they sat back and looked at what they were doing at the end of last season, when they were beating less talented teams and competing with more talented teams - and they realized their focus at that time was getting our guys to do the basics well. I think maybe they put a lot of pressure on themselves to make a “year 2 jump”. We don’t need a year 2 jump, we need to look like that team at the end of last year. This year still has the potential to be a lay the foundation type season. No need for a “jump” just continue to hammer home the basics and let the leap happen naturally.
  9. Our issues come down to coaching and talent. Good lord does this post have way too many incorrect assumptions. If you said this tongue in cheek, my bad.
  10. I don't think Frost has to get rid of anyone. But good lord tonight should be a "Come to Jesus" moment for everyone associated with our program. A cartoon character of a coach, who uses more gimmicks then your local used car salesman, whose had worse recruiting classes then you since you've been at your school - just fisted you on live television. I'd start with: -No more we had a great practice BS, tell the guys to practice hard, but it's not worth s#!t if they have a train run on them on Saturday. -Pull guys who consistently get beat, LOAF, or commit dumb penalties. -Make Davis run til he pukes on Monday, takes a real POS to cheap shot everytime you get down 20, make an example of him. Nebraska fans will fill a stadium every freaking week, pay for 150+ Million dollar facilities, allow for you and your staff to ALL be millionaires - We will be critical, we will have high expectations, but we will support you week in and week out. Time to earn it boys, show us why we're paying you at the top of the B1G.
  11. Good news boys, Martinez isn’t the problem. Bad news boys, literally everything else is the problem.
  12. Can we give that 155 mil for Cook to use, maybe leave some for Hoiberg and Bolt.
  13. Take a hike Davis you fake tough guy. What a massive pu&&y.
  14. Pretty sure undisciplined and unmotivated is an identity. It’s just a s#!tty one.
  15. I f#&%ing hated Pelini and I’m 1 half away from sending him an apology letter!
  16. I honestly don’t care if we’re not good, still would like to see guys pulled out of the game and told what they did wrong and why they’re not playing. If you allow undisciplined play of course it’s gonna keep happening. Also the only time I’ve seen emotion out of this team is when we’re getting raw dogged and the game is already over. If you don’t like it, bring some emotion earlier.
  17. Did we hire the one staff that had less accountability then Mike Riley. Nothing is corrected or fixed, no one is pulled - we just have great practices all week and get ice cream after, then get punched in the face every Saturday.
  18. I can live with us with us being bad - but this low effort, low discipline bulls#!t is unacceptable. Hopefully a reporter finds some nuts and asks Frost why his teams are never ready to play.
  19. Holy crap, I didn’t even look that up and relied on my eyes. His fumble numbers make more sense after I look at how many carries he’s had. Honestly, if he would protect the football better, it would be a no brainer for me. Like the game plan last week - let’s protect the football, let’s get Mo/JD/ Wandale the ball in space. Let’s try to eat up yards in QB run game - the QB that can do those 3 things the best will give us the best shot to win.
  20. I know people don’t necessarily want to hear this, but a good outing from Vedral and I think Frost and co has to give it some thought. AM is the more talented QB for sure, but sometimes the more talented guy, isn't the guy that gives you the best shot at winning. Martinez leads the conf in turnovers at this time, his passer rating is average at best and he hasn’t been a game changer in the running game. If Vedral can prove to run the offense efficiency this week, proves to be an asset in the running game, and shows he can protect the football - I hate to say it but that’s the guy who gives you the best chance of winning. Disclaimer: this is all assuming we see the above from Vedral this week, I’m not saying I think Vedral is a better option until I see him lead the offense for a entire game.
  21. If Frost is an elite play-caller, I'm Bill f#&%ing Walsh
  22. I thought it was pretty good. We could keep telling them their heisman candidates, that’s working very well.
  23. Well at some point they need to take the kid gloves off and tell these kids if they want to be OSU or Wisconsin then it’s time to play like it, and sure as s#!t time to work like it.
