It most certainly looks better than it did in the last year under Riley. I would say we hit our year 1 goal in year 4. I'd argue the bar in year 4 shouldn't be "does it look better than it did under Riley", we should be well on our way to the tangible progress portion of judging a coach - Wins against Top 25 teams, Division Titles, B1G titles, Bowl Games, Player Awards, NFL Draft Picks...Comparisons to Riley should be 2 years in the rearview mirror.

If you bring him back, you should make him sign a new contract in which his buyout is massively reduced next season. Say 5 mil instead of 15 mil, but also greatly rewarding him for performance. Say $1,000,000 bonus for 8+ wins, $2,000,000 bonus for a West division title, $2,000,000 for B1G Championship, $2,000,000 for a playoff spot. Make him bet on himself, if he's as close as he preaches every week - he will jump on the opportunity to be the highest paid coach in the country after bonus checks. If he balks at he idea, then he probably isn't buying the stuff he's trying to sell in his pressers each week.

Is what it is. I’ve been trying to get a pulse on where Husker fans stand. Feels like Frost being the coach is most important and hopefully he gets us to a bowl game next year. I had a buddy text me (he’s a season ticket holder) and say he’s done with Nebraska football if they fire Frost. If this is what a majority of Husker nation wants, I’ll stick with it and hope for the best.

You saw how expectations morphed from 7-8 wins to 4 wins being a decent year, this season right? Same will be the case next year. Feels like we are watching our transition from blue blood to regular Joe play out in real time (see Minnesota Football).

Weird is right. We fired a guy for 9 wins less than a decade ago and now we’re keeping a guy in hopes for 6 wins in year 5.

They’d be fantastic hires but their agents will tell them wait to get a 5 year deal as a HC. Don’t blow your shot on making things work over 1-2 years at Nebraska. Could end up costing them millions in the long run.

I don’t think he should be fired, but also hasn’t done enough to be retained. We are really in that annoying sweet spot.
