  1. I think you're almost doing the DC a favor. A DC will say, I need my front 7 to stop the run, if I'm worried about a WR blocking out on the perimeter or the second level, then I'm already in trouble. What will worry a DC is having 3 receivers and a TE, that can all make plays in the short, intermediate, and down field passing game.
  2. I get what Frost is trying to do with the "no block, no rock" philosophy. Build a culture around toughness, team oriented play. It just isn't practical in the situation we're in. We see guys like Wyatt, and Kade Warner get a ton of snaps in his offense, and it isn't because of their play making abilities. Guys like that need to develop as blockers to get to this level, they aren't going to make it to D1 football without perfecting that aspect of their game. I've watched Omar play, he isn't a great blocker, it doesn't appear to be lack of effort. Omar has spent his entire career as a top WR, he was probably told stalk block or run off Corners his entire career. I just think our emphasis is in the wrong place. Even with a guy like Wyatt having played more snaps this season than Omar and Betts, is our run game in a better place? What's the net difference between decent blockers at WR over playmakers at WR? Is having a non-threat in the passing game on the field making it easier for defenses to defend us? I was harsh on AM's turnover issues, but many people (correctly) informed me that the turnovers are a product of AM having the ball in his hands a ton, and a necessary evil due to his playmaking abilities. I hope Frost applies the same logic with the WR room, take the subpar blocking because the increased playmaking ability Betts and Omar bring, is worth the sacrifice. TLDR: Emphasize playmaking over blocking, because good WR blocking doesn't seem to be impacting our offense for the better.
  3. They're kinda running out of time if they want to do this. I would hope in a "win now" season, they would try it before the heart of B1G play. Teddy has one more game left before they decide if they want to redshirt or burn it. Give him the lion's share of the snaps at LT this week, move Turner inside. If Teddy > Turner at LT, and Turner > Piper at LG, stick with it. If it's no real upgrade then ride with Turner.
  4. Wyatt had 5 more snaps than Omar yesterday…..SMDH.
  5. Corcoran allowed 6 hurries, a sack and a QB hit. Graded out a 0.0 on pass blocking…time to try something else at left tackle.
  6. Honestly it could be the perfect scenario for both parties. If AM leads us to a bowl and continues playing at a 1st Team or 2nd Team All-Conf level, he goes out on top and gets his best shot at the NFL. Frost could use the momentum and stellar QB play to attract a transfer to compete with Smothers for the starting job.
  7. This game doesn’t make or break Frost really. If we build on it, it will be looked at as a turning point. If we finish last or 2nd to last in the division again, no one will give a s#!t about a close loss to a good team. I learned we have the talent to compete, no reason we shouldn’t be playing a game in December.
  8. I was on AM's case for turnovers before this year, but he has been money this season. Same electricity, and cut down on the turnovers. I wish he had a solid OLine...
  9. Seriously. Playing well against Oklahoma means very little if you can’t beat average B1G teams. They need to parlay this into actual conference success.
  10. We played well! Next two weeks are more important, go 2-0 and we forget about this.
  11. Scared for the rest of the season. We’re gonna be in defensive dog fights without a kicker. Could lose us a few more this season.
  12. I have a hard time blaming anyone on our offense outside the line. They’re making it hard to do much of anything.
  13. Our oline vs their dline scares the crap out of me
  14. 50% PUMPED, 50% sure we are walking into a slaughter house...
  15. What blood blood program (with a 4th year coach who hasn't even gone .500) - goes 2-5 against Illinois, NW, Purdue, MSU, Minny, Iowa, Wisconsin - and says, "Yeah, let's run that s#!t back with a green QB and a young defense"
  16. I probably sound like a broken record, but a 5th year for the sake of a 5th year is dumb. He has to show progress this year (6-6 or better). Prove you can beat MSU with a 2nd year coach and their entire roster turned over. Prove you can beat a Minnesota team down their bell cow RB. Prove you've built a better program than Brohm at Purdue. Prove you can beat Northwestern in what looks like a down year. Prove you can beat Iowa and (or) Wisconsin, something you've never done. Chances say we're gonna need 3 of those. If we can't get 3 of those with a 4th year starter at QB and a veteran defense, the f#&% are we waiting around for?
  17. Just to justify what I thought my eyes have been telling me, others seem to have noticed the left side being burned as well. Thats Turner and Piper.
  18. Here is Turner getting beat on a 1v1 by Fordham. This stuff makes our offense look like crap, no matter how talented AM and our skilled guys are. If you can't beat a FCS DE 1 on 1, good luck with Oklahoma and B1G lines. This is the only video I could find, but if I recall correctly he's been getting beat multiple times a game.
  19. I thought it was Turner they considered moving inside? Turner has been struggling a lot more than Bryce thus far...
  20. Agree, it is harder to track than a vaccine is the only problem. You can't rely on peoples word. I tested negative twice for COVID then had antibodies a couple weeks later. My wife had it and didn't test positive for antibodies. Just tougher to track than 'did you have a shot'. Hopefully once we get through delta we don't have to worry about restrictions or any of this s#!t, really.
  21. Trump started this s#!t after he lost Iowa to Ted Cruz 5+ years ago. Trump literally has cried fraud after every loss regardless of opponent, appears the rest of the party fell in love with that strategy.
  22. Currently killing 6x the amount of people than the flu is, annually. So as far as a virus is concerned, its killing/hospitalizing a ton of people, which in turn is a huge strain on the health care system. So unfortunately things can't be completely "normal" with that kind of strain on a health care system. Once enough people get vaxxed/recover from the virus, cases will probably work into a manageable range. We will develop other treatments, there will be boosters available if a nasty strain pops up. People will still be hospitalized and die from it, but it will look more like a flu season and we won't have to shut down things like elective surgery and send people in the hospital home early to ration beds.
  23. All you can do. Your guys are in place, 4th year QB, good defense. Sick of debating where he stands. Go show you can compete in the B1G, put up or shut up.
