I think the year over year total of all deaths period is telling. Hard to say it was this cause or that to skew your view when you simply look at the total. 200k more deaths than last year, what's changed this year?

That plus say the ACC/SEC/Big 12 still play. Seniors in front of me, plus these other teams actually still played. Why go to <insert Big Ten school here>? Ohio State just had a top 40 kid decommit today, probably headed to Florida. Does this all set the Big Ten back? What about current kids trying to transfer to play this year? I wouldn't blame them if they can get a waiver. What a mess.

I don't get the impression the Johnson's are too fond of Nebraska at the moment. Also, if he is transferring because FCS was cancelled gents he's not going to a school that just had their season cancelled also.

Hey now, you are getting way to close to the truth here. I WISH they would just give the finger to the NCAA, form a Power 5 league, start paying players and collectively bargain with a new players union. Make it a true minor league using giant universities who stand to gain a whole lot of revenue by being a part of this. The rest of the colleges can have amateur leagues/championships etc. still.

I agree, it's grasping at straws big time. I believe it all falls apart shortly and we will have to accept it yep. I also am going to enjoy the conspiracy theories while I can because it'll be a long dark winter with nothing to talk about real soon. That will be lame.

I think the thought is if conference sponsored games weren't happening but say the Big 12 still was playing, they'd attempt to play games for revenue elsewhere. If that is allowed under conference rules etc., who knows. But seriously, what are they gonna do, kick Ohio State and Michigan out of the conference for stepping out?

It is weird. The P5 should break away and form the top division. G5 forms their own and has their own championship. I'd watch that in a heartbeat. Competition on the same level is always entertaining. I think it meant the P5 pays the athletic budget of many schools with those OOC games. No games means no budget, no budget means no season.

It's a game of chicken right now to not be the first P5 conference to cancel. They will cancel before the season, this isn't happening. My money is on the Pac 12 going first, but I could see Mr. Warren taking the B1G first. I actually see the Big 12 being last, they seem more stubborn than the SEC right now even. I say within the next 10 days it happens most likely, definitely before 9/5.

I have a long history of being the overly optimistic one, I get it. However, my opinion is that optimism right now looks like 7-5, 10-2 is just in outer space. To each their own.

You're doing the same thing. I get the sentiment, I have done the same thing for years up until this one, but you're still making leaps about being able to win one score games and the recruited talent actually having developed into a 10 win team when we just haven't seen it yet. There have been reasons that NU loses those one play or one score games and I need to see it on the field before I even start to expect 7 or 8 wins again. There have been two 10 win seasons since I started college in 2003, 17 years ago. Those were in a much easier conference than the Big Ten is right now, and then you add in a top 5 non conference opponent to boot. I just don't see it, especially if there ends up being no football this year and all this young talent cannot develop further.
