  1. It sucks yeah. Lavonte David was better than any of those LBs but as the article said, only one year in the B1G. It's been mentioned before but I don't think we've had another first team all conference defensive player since then and for sure not another All American.
  2. This is an excellent way to sum it up. You're not gonna have the luxury of knowing the outcome to make your decisions right now, you have to educate yourself and act early or you can't retire! Except in this case you may end up with lung damage or someone you care about dying. Isn't it worth it to try to make things better? What is the harm in trying? Some people will argue simply to argue because they think everything someone else says is wrong even if they may get hurt by that decision. I see some folks get about an inch deep in a subject and make a decision based on previous bias and absolutely refuse to put any more thought into it. It's mind boggling and sad.
  3. https://theathletic.com/1889693/2020/07/02/college-football-most-dominant-programs-rankings-50-years/ 4. Nebraska Record: 468-154-5 (.750) Average: 5.26 National championships: 1970, 1971, 1994, 1995, 1997 Score: 0.26 Nebraska was so good on an annual basis from the 1970s through the 1990s that the past 20 championship-less years — in which the program has mostly had a 9-4 ceiling — don’t drag the Huskers down much. Even with a win percentage of .619 since 2000, Nebraska ranks fourth in overall wins in the past 50 years, and it’s also in the top five in SRS average (15.52), major bowl wins/appearances (13/25), AP poll finishes (38), weeks spent in the AP poll (78.9 percent), percentage of games won by double digits (59.3) and more. It leads all Power 5 teams in scoring (34.26) and point differential (+16.26) in that span, too. The Huskers began this period with national titles in 1970 and ’71. They had a Barry Switzer/Oklahoma problem after that, but Tom Osborne won national titles in 1994, ’95 and ’97 with an option-fueled dynasty churning out unbeaten teams. From 1970-2001, Nebraska was ranked in 99.4 percent of AP polls, according to College Poll Archive, and it finished ranked in all 32 of those seasons (top 10 in 24 of them). The past two decades have stripped a lot of the luster off Nebraska football, with lingering questions about whether the program can ever recapture past glory on a consistent basis. Regardless, the numbers are the numbers: When the past 50 years are viewed together equally, Nebraska has been one of the most dominant programs, even if it isn’t that today. Flip around the Huskers’ trajectory, and its placement here would seem obvious. 20 years in the wilderness and Nebraska STILL leads the nation in scoring and point differential over the past 50 years. Pretty incredible.
  4. Oregon and MSU over Ohio State and Michigan?
  5. I hear you, I was just making a joke about reporting things we don't know. It's hard to be sarcastic on the internet.
  6. He's saying the cases that no one knows about aren't being reported.
  7. Man it pays to not have to leave the tri-state area to recuit. Ladies and gentlemen count your blessings Nebraska was ever on top of the mountain, it's a bloody brilliant miracle that Bob Devaney came from my home state to NU and that he hired a guy named Tom Osborne.
  8. Thank you. Wearing a mask is about me trying not to spread it to YOU. It isn't about me being afraid or hiding, it's about caring about others, and doing my part. Wasn't that something folks used to pride themselves on? Sacrificing a bit to help the cause and their neighbors?
  9. Forward progress has got to be one of my least favorite things, I hate subjective rules. Why don't we allow the defense to drive a guy back 50 yards if he stays up also? Why does it only benefit the offense? Rules are made for scoring to cater to the casual fan, I get it but it is really lame.
  10. A very reasonable response. The bolded is what I feel like some people are underestimating and that may be a dangerous game to be playing if lung function is involved.
  11. Well if 2 bye weeks is an option then sure. I'd still say any game experience is beneficial for depth still.
  12. This would be an.....extra one. Get it? Play 2 decent non conference games, have a normal bye week, but break up the conference grind with one of these and let the backups and redshirts get playing time.
  13. Southeastern Louisiana is on the schedule in November 2021. What the SEC does makes perfect sense, basically a rest week for much of the team in the brutal part of the schedule. Playing the last 5 in a row like we do in 2020 is doing no one any favors, and since the conference sets that, the only way to break it up is a game like this in October/November.
  14. ^^^^ this is peak offseason stuff here guys, excellent work.
  15. No camps and no in person views this year. Makes sense rankings would be very different between services and coaching staffs.
  16. Luke has thrown 12 but a good percentage of Husker fans would start him above Martinez right now. Sounds a bit different looking at it from the outside eh?
  17. And only if degrading someone else's decision on the internet makes you feel better about your own shortcomings in life. Much easier to never look in the mirror.
  18. I have a coworker who uses ellipsis like this. They sign emails with: Thanks... Haha! Yep, sounds real thankful.
  19. It's pretty much a consensus that Purdue has the best tandem, and folks in Columbus are a bit biased. OSU has one proven good one in Olave, but Purdue has one better than him in Moore and Bell is close, if not better already. Garrett Wilson only shows once in all these rankings. Will they end up better? Maybe but they're not right this minute. https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/Big-Ten-football-best-returning-players-Justin-Fields-Micah-Parsons-Rondale-Moore-144236544/ https://nebraska.rivals.com/news/ranking-the-big-ten-wide-receiver-15?yptr=yahoo https://saturdaytradition.com/big-ten-football/top-5-returning-b1g-wide-receivers-in-2020/ https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/College-football-top-25-wide-receivers-JaMarr-Chase-DeVonta-Smith-2020-season-146197288/
