  1. There's a farm on my commute to work that has peacocks, and they wander in the road sometimes. I've almost murdered one a couple times if that helps.
  2. Maryland is going to be able to throw the ball on Saturday. It will be all about if we can get a lead and lean on them with the run. It is such a bad place for this team to be playing from behind. Both Wisconsin and Iowa will eat our offense alive, but especially Iowa. Folks looking for warm fuzzies there aren't going to get it in 2023, they are just too well coached. HH will be forced to throw and we all know that story.
  3. Ditto for me, but for different reasons. My dad had just died of a 2 year battle with cancer, attributed from agent orange during his service in Vietnam, when I was 24. That game was cathartic and difficult at the same time. He shared his love of the Huskers with me, and he was with the team that night still. Attended with my Uncle's season tickets, my Dad's brother, after an emotional phone call. Husker football is a family affair. I appreciate you all, even if I argue with you a lot.
  4. +1 simply for using the word banal, but thanks for the rest as well!
  5. I disagree. He does it a large percentage of the time. He was doing it in the very clip I listed and only moved to the second target at the last moment before he ran directly into a defender.
  6. I don't think it is as hard as you think to judge his ceiling. Lots of offensive injuries, but he constantly stares down his first target, doesn't see wide open guys, has happy feet, and has pretty poor awareness around him. Did you see the play where he was rolling out last week while looking up the field and ran directly into #4 without even knowing he was there? 5:50 mark of the video below. I both chuckled and cringed on that one. He then hesitates on what to do on the next play, thinks about pitching but doesn't, and takes another huge hit then fumbles. Some guys you can just tell have "it" as a QB, and HH simply doesn't. Nothing against him, not his fault, he is just not a natural at this position. Everything is forced and he has to think too much about all of it, making him hesitant to do basically anything.
  7. First, anything is possible in these last 4. Second, remember however that we are also decimated by injuries, and have overcome some huge mistakes in ball security recently to beat some not good teams. We are 125th in turnover margin the country. Wisconsin and Iowa are the two best defenses we will face all year outside of Michigan, I believe. We had a team set up to defeat what Iowa does on defense last year, a deep threat passing game. That is the exact opposite of what we have this year. Iowa will have little trouble shutting us down on offense, and that game will be a huge struggle for both teams. I am talking 3-2 type situation is very possible, unless we continue to turn the ball over at this rate, then they will win something like 12-6 from chip shots after we give them field position. We can go 3-1, but I think it is far from probable at this point. My bet would be 2-2, with MSU and Maryland being the wins, but Maryland may be able to throw on us more than some of you expect. Iowa will come down to ball security, and I expect to lose on the road in Madison. 4-0 would have me skinny dipping in kool-aid flavored jello at this point.
  8. This is a fair take, but do you really believe we are winning BECAUSE of him, or he is simply doing enough/not screwing up as much as Sims for the team as a whole to win? I applaud his effort, his heart and his want to. I simply think his ceiling is pretty low overall as a well rounded QB, and we should be trying to shoot higher. I also acknowledge that the same should be said for the entire offense around him, so yes he may be better with better performance around him. I think we want him on the field in some capacity regardless regularly, and he could be an emergency QB for the rest of his time here.
  9. To the bolded, we would all like to assume this happens. We are also all human (maybe a bot or two), and we have all dealt with other humans, especially in groups. Humans can be quite stupid, and therefore do stupid things, whether cognizant or innocent. Sometimes things need to be pointed out for our brains to grasp things . This staff seems much smarter than the last, so I am sure if it hasn't come up already it will, but to simply assume that it has may be wrong. Everyone start tweeting it out, so someone picks it up at the U. Also, why do we not have a football emoji???
  10. I read that Iowa has not fired a coordinator in something like 30+ years. They've had two coaches in my lifetime. It's bonkers.
  11. I really hope he is back to playing TE like they were leaning towards early in the year. Bring in 1-2 QBs and have Kaelin as backup.
  12. I've always said, if a team is going to run the option, to you should hit the QB as hard as possible on every single play.
  13. Better be taking a QB or all this mojo may be tempered in the offseason.
  14. You know it will be 1000% the opposite. Yeppers. Especially now that we are winning games again.
  15. And I'm pretty sure I will take Iowa and the under still.
  16. It will. This is akin to every other B1G school hoping we would continue to keep Frost around year after year.
  17. The last game was out of the norm scoring wise. I'm with him in where the over under should be. You can't count on things like blocked kicks returned for TDs or the opponent returning a fumble for a TD. That's your 14 points right there going from under to over.
  18. Adrian is 2-3x the QB HH is, mostly because HH should be a tight end. I would feel great about our division chances if we had Adrian at the helm. Funny isn't it how things never seem to line up? Adrian never had a defense and was always asked to do it all himself, now we have a defense and all we want is HH to not screw it up! I hope we can find a couple solid transfers at QB next year.
  19. Are you saying it's bad to try and rip the ball out from an opposing player? That NFL players would agree with that statement? Do you hear yourself?
