  1. First post on this thread and I am the winner. My Dodger's lost last p.m.- still 8.5 games up. Who needs Manny?
  2. Welcome to Omaha! Sorry to hear that you are going to be here under such circumstance, but I pray that everything will turn out well. Omaha is a cool little city with a great entertainment venue and some good restaurants. I would recommend a few things. Go to Amazon and get Bob Devaney's and Tom Osborne's book. See also if there is a video collection of important games going back to the 60's. You can't watch them all, so there might be a compilation of relevant game clips from each decade. You might try youtube.com, there is some good clips on there. Lurk around on this board and get knowledgable about the upcoming season and then just show up to games or bars on gameday.
  3. HAHA- I thought he was a tight end
  4. I don't know if it can be a bad thing, but the last QB recruit I remember to actually attend UNL and try to assist with recruiting was Beck. I prefer them to just be quiet, work hard and earn the right to play when its their time.
  5. I'd probably pull for a rival of a team I hate- like pulling for Kansas or Colorado State. I kinda figure if you pull for Kansas you get two birds with one stone. A few years back I was a HUGH Marshall fan I'd have to add in the local team in that state I sometimes reside in- the Rajin Cajuns. Outside of massive eating and drinking I probably wouldn't even watch the game. Or maybe I would just watch the 93, 94,95 and 97 seasons over and over again, take LSD and pretend they weren't reruns. This is probably the best answer as football season could be year around. I think I would end up looking like a female version of the priest in Caddyshack Or maybe might heart might stop and I wouldn't have to worry about it.
  6. Frank had that signature win vs. Oklahoma. And that's it. I'm hoping with Bo that we'll be winning our share of games vs. top 10 teams, not just a single win people can point at. Just ask Frank what one signature win gets ya. Off the topic, but IMO his first signature win was against Texas in the Alamo bowl. Point being you need more then a few biggies every now and then to be a long term success.
  7. I am not for running up the score intentionally- as in starters still in the 4th- just for BCS points. However I think a good pasting by the boys in the first two games might springboard them for VT. I would like to see it a well rounded effort by the first, second string, and if that comes with alot of points, so be it. But on the flip side, if one of the first games is lopsided (our way) you could argue that the starters need to stay until late in the game just because it's early in the season and they need the reps to come together as a team. I am knocking on wood that taking about us running up the score will not give us bad 2009 karma. Not trying to be superstitious, but I guess I am.
  8. Whew. IMO, a one year player is nothing more than a rented player that doesn't contribute to the building of a program
  9. I went to all four games, although I admit game 3 was a bit blurry due to the koolaid catching up with me. I must say I am pleasantly surprised by everyone, but the catcher. Maybe it was just the first series /games and he will improve, but his arm was not good this weekend. Regarding Cooper. This guy is the real deal. He just has one of those swings that ball just pops off the bat. He is truly an athlete and we are lucky to have him.
  10. I had to leave the game early, but I thought I heard that Khiry Cooper pinch ran. Is this true?
  11. It would have only been shameless if your prices were high and you had bad supply, but your site is great! I love your site!! But of course I screwed up my order. I left you a email for help on your customer site
  12. Need a flag to hang on our tent at the Husker's baseball game vs. Rajun Cajuns on Feb 20th. Bigger is better, but low price rules all. Where to find this on the web?
  13. Food is ok- just do not ask what it is. You would be surprised by what finds its way into the chili here.
  14. I have lived in New Iberia for eight years. New Iberia makes Lafayette look like the capital of health and wellness.
  15. haha, that is freakin great. I bet that dude had no idea he would get completly owned by a bunch of Huker fans. We are EVERYWHERE!!
  16. You could come for a day depending on how far away you are meh, lincoln is a little far. Yup, a little far. Although I have done a few similiarly insane things. lol
  17. You could come for a day depending on how far away you are
  18. I think we are renting the box on the first base side for the double header on Saturday. If anyone is traveling thru for Mardi Gra(its the following Tuesday), or coming for the game, give me a pm and we would love to have you at our Husker party! Its going to be blast and probably warm. Kris
  19. In hindsight I am not surprised that CU is on this list. It is an ESPN poll afterall.
  20. For the love of god, Do you have no respect, man?? You put Colorado before Alabama in a prestige poll just so Nebraksa can win?? Come on and have some dignity! Just voted, we are in 2nd and like 26000 points below Alabama.
  21. What in he$$ is Colorado doing on this list? We are number three, but very far behind Al and Ok
  22. bump Didn't listen to the game due to conflicts, but would like to hear more about it.
  23. That's a new one- mother wants him to go so he's staying. Sorry to go OT and especially since this during his senior season, but this gave me visions of Jammel Lord's mom crying after a game (don't remember which one-Colorado maybe) telling the reporters, "My baby's goin' to league, he's goin' to league my baby!" And then repeated that for every question the reported asked
  24. Check the Alumni association. THey may have a recognized group in your area.
  25. That's exciting! I was wondering about Dobson, is he known for anything- like a great motivator, a drill sargent, etc. I don't recall who was here before him, but I know fitness and fitness techniques have changed alot of the last ten years, and I was wondering if that area slid under the Callahan/Peterson era as well.
