  1. Lets just call it 3-24 and go into half and regroup. We can still pull this one out. SheepdogMark
  2. We are "sucking" this game down the crapper hole. SheepdogMark
  3. I'm not humored by the "only two turnovers" or "limit" turnovers. One of our biggest problems thus far has been turnovers. Those happen by a lack of mental toughness. For me, I want to see no turnovers. If they beat us without us beating ourselves then they truly deserve the W! SheepdogMark
  4. Texas is not ranked. They are rebuilding. We are perceived to win in a landslide. This is their Super Bowl. Reminds me of ... We must show up and produce to beat this team in any fashion. SheepdogMark
  5. Is this red koolaid or blue? I think some are drinking too much of the red thus far. SheepdogMark
  6. That really was a great read. Laughed a lot. SheepdogMark
  7. Won't surprise me to see a Texas win. We don't need to read the press. We must show up and play hard nosed football or we will get beat any week. We are now everyone's Super Bowl! SheepdogMark
  8. I just watched the first half. I thought is was much closer than the score indicated. I admire Snyder and what he did for that program. Personally, it's sad to see the "low" of this board. Let's not rabbit trail down this road after every win please. What's the point? People act like they won something here. We are just the fans people. It's a game ... you are watching it! This was a nice win. Hope our team shows up for Texas and gives a solid performance and wins it in the trenches beating them inside and out! SheepdogMark
  9. I've moved on from this guy. SheepdogMark
  10. Loved the thoughts ... I have us at 12th. SheepdogMark
  11. He will win the Heisman this year and be the first round pick in the NFL next year ... it is amazing how high people are on him. I don't see it that way personally. It's like Yoda talking to a young Luke ... much to learn you have! Let's give him a full season in the Big 12 and evaluate him then ... the kids head might explode if you puff him up to much ... and great is the fall! SheepdogMark
  12. More and more, it appears that we should not be recruiting Jamal Turner as a QB ... he should be brought on staff as a recruiter from the start! :-) SheepdogMark
  13. If we get AG this is true. Can you think about going green-less and missing out on Standard too? That is a scary thought. Exactly my concern T-Husker! With Green being non-committed to this point ... I personally would have been excited to nail down Standard, especially since he wanted to play for the Big Red. I do not question the coaching recruiting staff however ... but sometimes fans say things like "insignificant" that make my football savy take a double take. SheepdogMark
  14. Guys, thanks for your input ... it helped me. SheepdogMark
  15. EZ, so when you say he is ours when we want him, he is plan B ... are we saying we can make him uncommit from Iowa State? This is where Tevin was confusing me, some were saying we didn't need Standard, then I saw some were hot on this guy. I assumed RB since that was how people were talking about him. From what I know Standard is off the board. So what do we see at RB and in what order. Who are we looking at after Green, since it isn't Standard or Tevin? Just a clueless fan, SheepdogMark
  16. That's an interesting stat and application. I would think that if Malcom or Aaron went to Texas that they would get the running game going! Texas has been a strong running team with plenty of studs over the past 10-15 years. If anything, I'd say that the Texas "situation" is an opportunity for a RB to look at and say, "Hey, I can fill a void there at a Top 5 program". I think Texas will get it all figured out and fill up their pipe line ... just some minor rebuilding to do in their program. In the mean time ... just a few holes on my Husker team to rant about ... :-) SheepdogMark
  17. I'm not an "insider" in any sense of the word ... simply a fan. As I've followed recruiting, atleast at RB, it seems we want Green and from the Standard thread it appeared that we would slow play Standard as we really didn't need anyone else at RB. Standard seemed high on the Huskers with those he knew well following the Husker program ... it seemed like he would fit well. Now it appears that this Tevin Williams is quite the steal. Just wondering by our "insiders" how our board looks at RB for recruiting? Is Tevin and/or another another RB we are gearing for that is higher on our board then Standard? It seemed that those who discounted Standard committing to Iowa State as no big deal ... we didn't want/need him and had other fish in the pond. I think some said we were so talented at RB that we didn't need anyone other then Green and should use the scholarship at another position. So now I'm wondering why the excitement over this guy? Is he so talented he is worth a second RB scholarship after we get Green and worth taking away from another position of need? I have no "battles" to fight here ... I'm posting the comments above off of memory of things I've read in threads. In the end, just wondering how that board looks at RB after Green (hoping that doesn't fall thru). Any input will be read ... that I shall ensure! SheepdogMark
  18. Huge miss. Wanted him and Green personally. SheepdogMark
  19. We should pound the rock all day long until it opens up opportunities to pass. Suck the life out of those boys and make sure they know they are in a fight ... then pop em with the pass. Keep their QB off the field as much as possible and let your defense pop Hooker in the mouth a couple of times. We win the game by 2-3 TD's and impress the nation! That is my hope ... but I do think we are over rated a bit and are making way too many mistakes to be a Top 10 team at the moment. SheepdogMark
  20. I decided to not be lazy and just ask questions even though you all are very good about answering questions. Aaron Green: 170 yards 3 Rush TDs Malcolm Brown: 184 yards 1 Rush TD 1 Rec TD I couldn't find receiving stats besides that MB touchdown. Take away some bad tackling one run and Malcolm is 1TD and 88 yards down. He should never have gotten that far on that run. Don't take away from what Malcolm did on that play. It was nothing short of amazing. The Madison defense was much stronger than Steele's. If Malcolm had the holes and blocking that Aaron did, he would have ran all over the field. Give credit to Madison's defense for shutting down their run game. I thought Aaron made too many mistakes. I watched 10 minutes of that game and saw him fumble the ball at the goal line. He had fumbled earlier when Madison was getting ready to score again as well. Maybe the stats for Aaron could have been better without those mistakes, yes. I was just surprized to see him make them. Aaron's blocking was great, whoever that lead block guy was should have gotten the game ball ... he was a stud. From my limited watch of the game it appeared that Madison was certainly the better defense. I was also surprized at how small Aaron was. He certainly had good vision out on the field. I saw him more as a 4 star then a 5 star. Malcolm didn't really impress me in the time I watched ... but his offense just couldn't open up any holes. There's my two cents ... maybe it adds to the discussion ... probably not. SheepdogMark
  21. I'm not responding to Knapple's list here, just in general to all lists of rankings. It's just downright crazy to see Texas, OK and NU all ranked behind both Boise State and TCU. The Big 12 Teams just suck this year don't they! To me, it's a perfect reason why you wait until week 4 or week 6 to set these rankings. If the traditional use of the rankings occurs, these two teams have to win the two "real" games they play and then put it on auto-pilot the rest of the season and be in the championship game. I don't like the look of it thus far ... and I'd have to say that I like both those teams and what they are trying to get accomplished. I ranked my Huskers 16-20 in the poll. I feel good in spot #16 because of the defense and the lack of knowing how the QB spot fills out. We will see how good our D is against Washington and the probable #1 NFL draft pick last season and for sure #1 this season in Looker. SheepdogMark
  22. I look at it as another quality recruit that brings Florida State back to prominence. Why do we ditch a team for getting a 5 star recruit? Sometimes Husker fans puzzle me. I know, I see the "humor" of it. SheepdogMark
  23. I read somewhere that Middleton has impressed some experts with various skills that would make him a defensive end. Obviously, he adds depth to the TE spot ... just wondered if anyone has any info if we will convert him to the DE spot ... having a year to adjust certainly makes that an option. Any thoughts or insights from those informed? SheepdogMark
