Do you know anyone personally who has died from Covid-19?

@funhusker ... your comment is full of revelation to you and of you. I'm not talking about a "world to come". That isn't what "eternal life" is about. You know this dear one. Eternal life is knowing God in the NOW and enjoying His Life IN us. Frankly, it just sounds like you are pissed that I choose to keep all this in a perspective that violates your political view.
By no means am I okay with people dying, nor of Covid. I lost my Mom's sister to Covid the day before Easter at 6:40 AM. Did the funeral yesterday. My wife lost her Uncle at the age of 62 to Covid this past week. It is real. What I see differently is the lack of perspective [which seems to be of political gain]. Covid is NOTHING in comparison to others in the past. Look to the Spanish Flu as an example. So, when the "left" bloviates 2 million deaths in just America ... and then bloviates it to 3.5 million ... and then world wide the numbers are around 150,000 ... well that pisses me off. I spend most of my days trying to help folks deal with the fear created by the bloviation. And now, we have all sorts of financial heartache caused by all the fear.
Enjoy the day sir.

@funhusker, a good morning to you. This was on my heart ... since we believe in a different Jesus.
The Jesus that was revealed to me ... rose from the dead ... and now has taken up residency in me.
1 Corinthians 15:12-19 - Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.
May we both be found in His Resurrection and Life. Abba, if I have not come to know you ... and am deceived, I ask you to reveal Yourself and what I missed in believing your New Covenant.

@funhusker, hey, it's all good bro.
Wanted to share a reading I did on my personal Facebook page. Perhaps this is a chapter in a book idea. I compiled this on Good Friday, yesterday, and decided to share it on Facebook and get some feedback from both believers and 12 Step folks. It's 45 minutes long ... if you watch it. It was worshipful to consider "The Life" Jesus lived in that final day.
The 12 Step instructions are in the first 17 minutes [if you want to skip that] and will benefit any/all who watch. From the 17:00 on is the story of Jesus' dependence upon the Father and how He allowed "God to demonstrate through Him what God can do."
Hope it gives perspective to your Good Friday experience.

Hope you are well,

@funhusker, you gotta live in the brokenness of muck and mire ... before you can see the Life that is greater than you.
Starts at the 07:00 mark.

@funhusker ... and still ... He loved me so! I needed it ... I was certainly excluded from the Life of God and was without hope. Glad to rest in His righteousness. Grateful that the Just stepped in for me ... the unjust one.

How many people will die in the U.S. from Covid-19?
-
@Redux, there was around 14,000 new cases today alone, we now lead the world with most cases with around 82,000. The charts seem to say that around 1% will die of cases filed.

I'm gonna guess about the same amount of abortions every year ... which is 500,000 - 600,000 ... give or take. The "way out there" folks seem to say around two [2] million or worse. I like the numbers some of you guys said ... 20,000 or 100,000. I'd take either of those numbers ... given what the media is telling me. Then you get statements like what @JJ Husker just said, which means that we are gonna see perhaps double, triple or quadruple ... so what is your number JJ? Are you saying that we might see 4, 8 or 16 million people die [off the 2 million these polls and media are stating]?

@NUance, I caught a virus after being on a cruise in early February ... sickest I'd ever been. Knocked me out for about 21-22 days. Over the past year I've had a weak/compromised immune system and get have caught most anything. I've never gotten sick but a few years back after losing my folks, then my marriage of 25 years, working through an addictive mind, I discovered my body was in "adrenal exhaustion" and I was at level 6 heading to the final level. Had to even stop running as I was depleating myself in some of my core resources. So, I'll be curious to see how things are in a month or two for folks like me. I'm experiencing incredible peace and each day is full of love, life and liberty. Be well, enjoy the day.

Covid numbers are trending well with chart ...

@NUance, here is how I'm looking at it ... it looks like the percentages work where of those tested, it runs at around .08% of those infected die, or 1/125. So, if 10,000 are tested, 125 die.
The political football is that we are not testing enough, so, if the number/percentages run higher, to me, it means more people died due to lack of testing to not catch it early enough.
In the end, it will be the late catchers, when all the hospital beds and ventilators are taken and folks cant get the needed help to ensure the symptoms, that will propel the numbers higher.
We shall see. At this point, I simply cannot believe that we will see 1.8 to 2 million deaths ... can't see it ... just like I can't see us going 7-5 this season [if it happens].

@NUance, no debate from me. Additionally, I'm not going to jump into any political football game of debate.
I'm simply following it like it's another B1G team that I'm curious to follow ... and that is because I don't understand all the fear.
Here is the really good news ... America survived the Spanish Flu just find, even amidst its difficulties and World War I. I'm sure many doomsday folks were swarming back then as well. Life will go on and America will find it's way ... and I will find my way [regardless of what I believe about it], adapt and grow.

@teachercd, that's nothing. We are talking 1.8 to 2 million, which is equivalent to the Spanish Flu of 1918. :-)
Wonder if there are odds.
