  1. Herman is not going anywhere as an OC. He's looking for another top-tier D1 HC position. Heck, he might not have even taken our HC spot had it become available and offered to him. Zach Kittley is still my #1 choice, with Garrett Riley a close 2nd.
  2. I've reached out to current and past Nebraska staffs about some of our players -- including our current PK/P who has been 1st team all-state the past couple years -- but to no avail.
  3. I actually live in Prairieville (Ascension) but I work in St. James.
  4. I found out yesterday that I was selected as Teacher of the Year. It just so happened that yesterday was also Sports Day, where we could wear attire representing our favorite teams. Pretty certain I'm the only guy in Louisiana rocking a Nebraska Cornhuskers hat and a throwback Bucs SUH #93 Creamsicle jersey.
  5. Surely he can’t be serious. If so, it’s a perfect example of why we’ll never get over the hump with him at HC. An obvious problem, glaring him right in the face, and he chooses not to acknowledge it and put a band-aid on it and hope it’ll get better.
  6. I am a Woodlawn grad and my daughter graduated from DS. I've seen both of them in action many, many times.
  7. Zach Kittley would be one I’d pursue. One of the nation’s highest-scoring offenses, has ties to TX, coached Mahomes. I also like Ruggiero but he’s been at WF for 8 years and are finally breaking through. I doubt he’d want to make a jump right now. Garrett Riley is another but he might get passed over just because of his last name.
  8. Yeah but it's not that easy. Why would top-notch talent want to come to a sinking ship where the HC is on the hot seat? Maybe grad transfers or seniors with one year of eligibility...
  9. Mickey Joseph might be ready for an OC job himself. I know LSU fans don't think highly of Peetz and will be glad to see him go.
  10. Doesn't matter what our expectations are. If they make a bowl, that'll be considered a success. I'm a little concerned because while our offense should (hopefully) be better if we land a top transfer QB, our defense will likely take a step backwards.
  11. Go after Peetz. Former Husker with SEC experience and Louisiana ties. Maybe he can bring Myles Brennan with him
  12. Would love to see Jake Peetz brought in from LSU as OC. He can bring Mickey Joseph with him. Would also love to see former Husker Burton Burns (formerly with Alabama, currently with NY Giants) as RBs coach. Hoping for an NFL assistant to be brought in as QB coach. He's more like their Plan C or D.
  13. My biggest gripe is that we’ll go 6-6 next season and it’ll be considered progress, and it’ll only prolong the inevitable. Our current recruiting class has me seriously concerned. A few of them have Nebraska ties, so that’s not a bad idea.
  14. I’m OK with it, as long as Verduzco, Austin, & Held are shown the door, and we get a top-notch QB in the portal. Hopefully there’s some truth to the Myles Brennan rumors.
  15. None of that matters when you still lose to Illinois (with a backup QB, no less), Purdue, and Minnesota. In the end there's only two columns that count: W and L. There is no column for "close losses."
  16. Agreed. My motto going into this season was, "NO EXCUSES." We see how that's turned out.
  17. I don't see how we can possibly keep him unless he's able to show that he has a transfer QB committed to come here.
  18. No way do they allow Frost to return with the same staff. No way.
  19. He's gotta win at least one of the final two; at least that way Trev can say we've beat someone we haven't beaten in quite a while. If not, he's gone. If he is retained, obviously Trev will force him to make some staff changes. He'll also need to land a top-tier transfer QB, like Brennan or Rattler. Otherwise, next year will be much of the same.
  20. Our defense has been inconsistent at times, as well. They made the Illini backup QB look like a Heisman candidate, and Purdue's QB looked like Drew Brees out there.
  21. Carlos Polk would be an excellent guy to hire for special teams. Joe Dailey or Gerry Gdowski for QB coach. Burton Burns for RB coach. Jake Peetz & Mickey Joseph will also be available after this season.
  22. This offense will never be good enough to win on a consistent basis in the Big Ten.
