When is the last time we played well in OT?

Nebraska special teams sucks like no other. Worst in history.

Why did Martinez hold it that long?!?

Martinez should have ran that...or at least not throw high again.

There is no way we can get past 5 wins with that special teams. It is an absolute disgrace. You can't win close games with that. Between that and the o-line penalties, we wasted one of Martinez's best games in years.

Special teams is going to cost us at least one more game. While not as bad as the last game, I still seem some very red flags. Obviously they can't all be FCS teams and if you schedule 5 or more years out there is no telling how good they might be in the future, but we need to try to schedule 3 weak teams in our preseason a year until we consistently get at least 7 wins a season again. We don't need to worry about strength of schedule for national championships anytime soon.

I feel like we really needed that Illinois win to get to at least 6 wins this year.

I've learned that if Nebraska makes a game changing positive play on defense, always expect a penalty instead. I never get excited after any big plays anymore because I am always waiting for the flag.

If the ceiling with Martinez is 4 to 5 wins, does Nebraska really feel the need to stick with him the whole season? At what point should Nebraska look at another QB on the roster and try to build towards the future? Do we really want to start next season with a QB with no starting experience? Reading the AP article on the Illinois game, you'd think Martinez had an excellent game. He hit a couple good throws, but he also misfired on two wide open TD throws and misread a lot. His running game was pretty much one run. I feel like Frost is going to get another season almost no matter what and I'd like to see what will happen longer than one season with a new QB. At this point, I think we just need a QB that can hit all the mid range throws more consistently, can scramble occasionally for a first down, and not make killer mistakes. We don't necessarily need a stud athlete at QB.

There are just some games that all you have to do is not make any major unforced errors and you win, but Nebraska can never seem to do that. It seems like it is always 4 or 5 minimum. Between the stuff above and missing two wide open receivers for basically touchdowns, we just keep shooting ourselves in the foot. I feel like we should be prepping the next QB this year, particularly if Frost is going to get another year, we need to get a QB in there that isn't going to be starting his first career game next season. Illinois just won with its backup. If we have no one capable, that is a huge indictment on the coaching staff.

Campbell won't come to Nebraska. He has too good of a thing going at Iowa State. Unless it is something like Ohio State, he will stay put. We will have to pay Scott something to get out of the contract and avoid litigation. I don't see this violation as much of an out clause, particularly if we do not fire him right away because of it.

We should hire a Big 10 assistant at a successful program. I'm tired of coaches trying to make the Big 10 adjust to us, Huskers need to adjust to the Big 10.

We need a coach that will coach Big 10 football, not Pac-12 football.

Need our defense to get turnovers for TDs.

Those two missed wide open throws for TDs in the first half were horrific. Any D1 QB should be able to make those throws.

We should be up 2 scores instead of down 1 score. Once again special teams and Martinez are letting us down. We just need a capable QB that can hit the medium passes accurately. Really, any 3 star QB should be able to easily lead this team to victory today.

Phoenix would have been a good location even without the pomp and circumstance of a normal bowl year. I can understand why, but Nebraska is taking a ripping by some since they were so gungho about playing this season.

Penn State has opted out. It sounds like the opportunity will be there if they want it, but I doubt they want it.

It would have been nice to see the season end on a more clean game and the younger players get more in game experience, but I could tell from Frost and the players' comments from last night that they were pretty much done.

I wish our coaches could get through to our best players better. There seems to be a bit of a disconnect.

Unless he is projected to be drafted in the first 5 rounds or so, he would be better of staying a year.

Don't kick to returner of the year!

I saw that coming a mile away. If you can't kick into the endzone, kick it short to a nonreturner.

Martinez and Frost are sucking big time this game. Defense gives up another huge play on 4th and short.
