  1. He mostly played in garbage time, but #22 LB Mauga-Clements looked very good from my vantage point at the stadium. Good speed, tackling. Looks like a ball hawk.
  2. Iowa’s defense is good. Again. Phil Parker is a hulluva DC. Offense is okay. Good TE and RB. Indiana’s offense was horrible. Like worse than NU’s 2nd half vs Illinois.
  3. I agree. Any win from now on is a good win.
  4. So we finally come out and play well in a second half, but now it doesn’t matter?
  5. I’m not speaking for Trev, but when UNO hockey needed a jolt, he went out and hired a proven coach.
  6. Barry Alvarez. I’m only half kidding.
  7. I saw this too. Just nuts. For what? Autographs? That has boosters written all over it. And we're in trouble for an extra practice or weight lifting session. Good God. CFB as we all knew it is dead.
  8. Oh I heard it several times from people who’s opinions don’t matter to the athletic department. Did Trev say this? Chancellor Green? I don’t believe they did.
  9. I get it, but... It just seems to me like many, suprisingly, have given up hope and written off the season and HCSF's tenure already. I didn't get that general feeling from fans prior to the season that playing IL was a make or break thing. It seemed that many (on HB) were predicting at least 6 wins and this may be the season that we see how our improvements in size/physicality and experience get us to a bowl and make us more competitive in the West. And then we loose the first game, albeit in a familiar frustrating fashion. Now apparently we're done, Coach should be fired, we don't stand a chance against any good team,...... What happens if we win convincingly (as we should) the next two and then play competitively vs. OU? Are we still doomed? Or are we back to pre-season optimism? If we do only manage to eek out a win Saturday and the following week and then get curb-stomped by OU, then yes the outlook is definitely bleak.
  10. He now probably wishes he hadn't. But it's a great example of how when you're down, many will "kick you" by taking anything you say or do in order to get a headline or fit it to whatever narrative they want to push. Why can't we just focus on week 1 to week 2 improvement and how that's going to look. In many area's, there's clearly room for it.
  11. Now that the "media" has shown it will use Frost's words against him. I wouldn't blame him if he were to be rather curt with some of his responses going forward. Can we all agree that we've beat this whole "half the playbook" quote to death?
  12. The Red Carpet Experience is a great idea. I hadn’t read about it before. Good for those kids and their families.
  13. Adrian plays well in a blowout win. One of the backups comes in and looks good. I know it’s Fordham, but damn, we sure could use some evidence of player development.
  14. What if these rumors aren’t true. Or they are so wildly embellished that reality is much less damning. People tend to exaggerate. We all do it. Who doesn’t like a big juicy rumor? I get the disappointment with the game Saturday, but would so many still be hammering Coach the way they are if the alleged off the field stuff wasn’t there? Are we as a collective fan base becoming addicted to misery?
  15. I think we’re reaching here. He appears to be looking at the monitor showing the replays. Of course he looks disinterested, we just lost a game in which everyone had placed great importance on. I’d be a little sour too.
  16. I’m inclined to believe this too under the assumption that “the staff” means Coach Frost. I could see changes in assistants if certain position groups continue to underperform.
  17. That's pretty spot on IMO. I'm still not ready to move on from Frost, but I am ready to move on from his system as it has been and is now. Will he commit to getting things cleaned up (both on and off the field if needed)? If he realizes that he needs to approach his job differently and not have his hands all over the offense, just find the best assistants and manage the team and keep everyone accountable. Starting with himself. Then I think he can keep his tenure going. But as of right now, nothing on offense is working well. Two to three O coaches probably need to seek other employment. The D seems okay for now, but if major changes are made w/ the O staff, trust me, they will be on notice. But, honestly, I think all of the coaches are trying and doing the best they can, but at least 2 or 3 just don't have what it takes at this level. We all see it. I don't care how well they recruit. What's the use in that if you can't coach?
  18. Boy, I hope future opponent DC’s don’t add any wrinkles for us.
  19. If the downhill slide continues and certain things are in fact true, would you favor the inevitable “negotiations “ happen sooner rather than later? Finish out the season with an interim HC?
  20. If there ever was to be a coaching change and I'm not saying there should be. You go get a "proven" P5 (preferably with B1G experience or ties) coach who's had success before. We can afford it. Getting 8-9 wins sounds pretty damn good right about now. No career .500 guy, no fired NFL coach w/ no college experience, no more taking chances on an up and coming coordinator, no promoting from within. There may not be a ton of those guys out there, but that's what search firms and $$ are for. Plus Trev seems like the kind of AD a coach would want to work for. Since Devaney and perhaps ever, we have not hired this guy. That's 6 coaches and only one has worked out, and granted that one turned into a legend. But, to me that's pretty eye opening.
  21. I should have clarified. Regarding this all this "evidence" you mentioned that will prevent a buyout. Where is that coming from?
  22. Says who? Are you basing this on unsubstantiated rumors or a certain new member who created a now locked thread?
  23. Agree. Never has been or will be a good pocket passer, but can be dangerous (to the defense) on roll outs.
