  1. Wow - 4 of those 9 aren't even on the team anymore... I think Frost will not only do better recruiting new players, but he will do better in retaining players.
  2. Both the men's and women's teams are struggling to overcome poor starts to the season. If both of these teams could have their November/December games back, I think they would be firmly in the tournaments. Unfortunately, that's not how it works. They played the games, and weren't very good to start the year, which makes it all the more important to finish strong.
  3. This could very well turn out to be a good hire. He's experienced and probably has lots of connections. Unlike with Devaney telling Riley how to run things, I don't see anyone telling Frost how to run his program. That might be the fast track to unemployment.
  4. Yeah, they started with lots of preseason hype and haven't done too much to disappoint. They also have the right name on the front of the Jersey. Oh, and they have a few decent wins - especially that one over Nebraska, I hear they're pretty decent.
  5. If Watson can start clicking on the offensive end, this team can be more than a borderline tourney team, it could be a legitimate threat for a run in the dance.
  6. So to recap: 1. We may or may not win games this year. 2. Mike Riley and Bo Pelini may or may not have been bad recruiters. 3. Some fans may or may not have unreasonable expectations for this year. 4. Some people may or may not struggle with reading comprehension and grammar. 5. Coach Frost is awesome. Did I miss anything?
  7. This is great and all, but this edit probably took all of 3 minutes to make. I know they have a ton of these to get out, so they can't put a lot of time into each one. I've seen some good edits by the new staff, and some that leave me wondering if they are letting some kids learn graphic design during "bring your pre-schooler to work day". I realize it's not overly important in the scheme of things, but these days this is one way to get the attention of some recruits as well.
  8. I'm not sure why they used a picture of Memorial stadium when talking about attendance decline... Pretty impressive that Nebraska can sell out a spring game in a couple days, but many college teams have declining attendance numbers for regular season games. Greatest fans in all of college football for sure!
  9. Nebraska Home & Away Records Since PBA opened in 2013: Home: Won 56/80 = 70% 2013-14: 15-1 (only loss was by 1 to Michigan) 2014-15: 10-6 2015-16: 10-8 2016-17: 8-8 2017-18: 13-1 (3 remaining) - (only loss was by 1 to Kansas) Away/Neutral: 23/75 = 30.7% 2013-14: 4-12 2014-15: 3-12 2015-16: 6-10 2016-17: 4-11 2017-18: 6-7 (1 remaining) I think it's safe to say Nebraska is much better at home, which is true for most teams, but this is a large gap.
  10. I don't think it's even fair to be putting expectations on win totals for year 1. This team was a disaster last year, even worse than the 4-8 record indicates. This is a total rebuild from a culture standpoint, a work ethic standpoint, and a scheme standpoint. The roster is also going to have a ton of new faces. I think fair expectations for this year are playing hard, playing smart, playing together, and never giving up. Do I think they can win 8 or 9 games, yes. Do I expect it? Not at all. GIVE THE COACHES TIME. No I'm not apathetic, I'm just not impatient. I believe Frost will do great here, but he's also not a magical genie... that I know of.
  11. I believe it's also been talked about that Parrella was only really allowed to teach a bull rush - Diaco didn't want him working on any other moves. With his endless brilliance, I don't know why people aren't questioning why Diaco hasn't landed a top DC position anywhere? Maybe the XFL is hiring?
  12. Viewership and gamblers have absolutely nothing to do with making it to the tourney. If Nebraska gets in it's because their resume looks better than enough other teams. There's no guaranteed number from each conference either.
  13. Right, this guy would view a boycott as a win for himself. Speak out against him, but don't let him affect anything else. I just hope they can keep winning, then this guy can't even claim he got in their heads and distracted them.
  14. If it was up to me he would already be gone, but the University doesn't agree... Yet. I haven't watched all of the video on him, so apparently he hasn't crossed the line.
  15. While I don't necessarily disagree with you, a high profile lawsuit for infringing on first amendment rights wouldn't help either. Once he's clearly broken the law or the student code of conduct, they'll kick him out.
  16. Yeah and a win there might mean an asterisk next to Nebraska's win total in tournament history because there will be debate about whether it's really a win in the tourney.
  17. Well they didn't exactly blow up Auburn's DL. They did neutralize it though. They did blow up Auburn's OL.
  18. I think the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle of what we've heard. I'm sure they were doing a lot of lifting, including legs, but to what extent, we can't know for sure. It's possible this is an exaggeration also, though the results on the field definitely show a lack of skill and strength on the line.
  19. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/22382854/nebraska-cornhuskers-condemn-hate-speech-boycott-game
  20. Completely agree. Some great athletes at positions of need. Maybe Frost & Co. can start dominating Missouri again soon, he's got some experience doing that from his playing days.
  21. In all fairness, the last staff did the same thing. It's easy to offer guys. The trick is getting them interested and then on campus. I'm confident they'll pull in their share, but offering the guy proves very little.
