  1. That Irvin’s knee is having a flare up is a red flag. That questions whether his knee can hold up for the whole season. Good that N has other backs.
  2. Depending on this season’s success, if this works out with Wipple, and MJ sticks around, I tend to think Mickey would be the next OC. But if this season is a total failure, then who knows what happens all the way around.
  3. Is there a sense among most of us that this year D will be better than last year’s because of a better pass rush? It appears we have a less experience but a very talented secondary and a very talented yet unproven DL, along with a decent LB core. So can Eric and assistances put it all together? Stay tune.
  4. Appears like Belt then won’t see much playing time. You have Alante Brown before him. And with Johnson, sorry Brody.
  5. Yes, I tend to agree about Held. Yet that was Ozibo’s coach his last year. So go figure.
  6. If Gabe is able to earn one of the top two spots at RB, he must be pretty darn good. Because it seems either Grant or Yant have too much potential and talent not to be playing. I think Gabe could be solid, but I just didn’t see greatness in his potential as there perhaps is with the other three that includes Allen. And Johnson as we talked about will get his share of snaps because of his receiving ability and speed. But if Gabe proves me wrong, good for him and the team. DO never looked great — but then his senior season with Frost he looked special. You just never know.
  7. I think you are correct. With that said, I remember Frost blocking. He laid a hard one on a Texas Aggie defender in the Big 12 Championship. He literally leveled the guy.
  8. Each year there is always a decommitment or two. It will likely happen again in this class. Kids change their minds.
  9. Hopefully we now have some playmakers at WR, let alone RB and edge rusher. But I get where you are coming from. You want to see it before you believe it. I think that is where a lot of us are at right now. I see potential but that means nothing until it’s realized. The good news is we are getting closer to actually finding out.
  10. It sounds like Wipple and Pitt’s head coach did not get along very well. Last season Pitt ran the ball 46 percent of the time. There probably was a personality conflict between the two. It really is classless for the HC to run his mouth like that. And since 2015, he has had, including the new guy, five OCs. That doesn’t speak very well.
  11. Yant looks like a beast. We will see next season if he starts being compared to Braylon Allen. Not saying he is there right now. But we will see.
  12. The difference seems to be Nebraska is getting the commitments they really want this time around regardless of the stars. I just hope it shows up on the football field.
  13. That’s probably it— the losing doesn’t help at all. They will probably need a reasonably good season with maybe at least nine wins to improve HC recruiting. In the meantime they may still need to continue some with the transfer portal. But they need to win now.
  14. As for ND, I wonder if they would be enticed to play USC in the same conference every year. That is a big rivalry.
  15. Maybe not totally, but I think Wipple took over the offense for a reason. Perhaps once in a while to keep the defense honest, but I seriously doubt to anywhere the frequency that was in the simulation. And Frost had seen how beat up AM was by the end of the season from running too much. But with the RBs next season, I could see Wipple running the ball more than at Pittsburg but mainly to the running backs.
  16. Sorry I don’t know how you do that. All I see in the browser is YouTube.com. But look it up on YouTube. It should come right up.
  17. I saw this recently on YouTube. Kind of laughable that it shows Casey Thompson frequently running the option like his father. Who comes up with this stuff? We at least all know that Wipple will rarely, if ever, run the option. I think we are all in agreement that while Casey maybe a little better than average as a runner, he will not be an option QB. Who makes up these simulations?
  18. Maybe Nebraska should consider hiring him? Blah!!!
  19. The talk about Nash was he is slow. But is that still the case? Could he had not been training properly? This was an elite wrestler in high school. He was 166 and 0. You can’t be slow to be a great wrestler. You have to have really good quickness, along with great strength.
  20. Year four, there were no blowouts. I get it they were still losses and very frustrating, but the fact is they were close in every loss was different than the previous three seasons.
  21. Can someone please correct a mistake I made in the title of the thread? It should be Ervin not Irvin. Sorry about that.
  22. GE claims his knee is stronger than it was before the injury. So this makes the RB race even more competitive.
  23. Perhaps maybe we will see Johnson more in the slot, and the other three in the RB rotation? It seems RJ is more effective as a receiver than as a RB. But of course injuries can change all this.
  24. He seem to be headed in the right direction his freshman year. After that, perhaps due to injuries and loss of confidence, he was never as good. I hope KSU brings the best in him.
