    Hair.

Four of those guys with the longer hair look like Baby Boomers out of the ‘70s. At 63, I had hair that long.
  4. What on earth is Gerry DiNardo talking about that Nebraska doesn’t have a real fast deep threat? I believe that was a quote from the Lincoln Journal Star. Where has he been?
  5. He looks to have better moves than T-Mart. Plus at this level, he can throw better out of the pocket on a scramble. I remember as a freshman, T-Mart could not throw at all on the run. This dude will be tough competition for Luke.
  6. Now that you said that, a few practices ago, the offense struggled with the four- minute and two-minute offense. Being accustomed to moving fast, I can see how that will take time to master.
  7. If he commits, will that fill up the WR class or would they still take someone like Powers or Rice?
  8. The key is followup. Held, Frost and future teammates constantly talking to him helps seal the deal. Oh, and the TE coach plays a big role, too. The important thing is that he already thinks he is a part of the team.
  9. With 4.54 speed in the 40, the difference with that and a handheld held time is 0.175 — the average, anywhere from 0.15 to 0.20. That averages out handheld below 4.4 — as good as 4.34 to 4.39. I googled this.
  10. He apparently is all 100 percent back and is the number one center. That is huge for the OL.
  11. According to the OWH, it’s 21.03. Edit: Correction — that’s 21.3. Makes a lot more sense with a 10.5 100 meters.
  12. Of course as a Badger fan, you want him to visit, as we Husker fans want him to cancel. But I understand Wisconsin’s appeal. They have become tailback U of late, and Morrison could be the feature back and could carry the ball 25-30 times a game. Then Nebraska’s appeal and why he committed is he would be moved around to different positions, that he won’t be able to do at Wisconsin. Plus, Held has a big relationship advantage. But you never know in recruiting. I’m sure the Badgers have a couple of other great RB prospects Wiscy is in the running for. Thus I imagine they will get one who prefers your offensive system. But, yes, if OU comes calling, that would cause some concern, but doesn’t mean he would flip.
  13. Agreed. Hopefully OU raps up RBs and doesn’t offer. I am not as worried about Madison, WI.
  14. I will admit I don’t know a great deal about this upcoming Minnesota team. All I know is Nebraska has a very high ceiling with potential. I tend to think Minnesota doesn’t have as high of one, but I could be wrong. Some of it will be realized, and some may not. RB certainly has a lot with Mills (although he has already shown some at Georgia Tech), Robinson and Johnson. We already know about Washington if he plays. WR potential is huge. Again with Robinson, maybe Williams, Hunt, Mcquity, Jones, and possibly even Houston. We already know about Noa and Spielman. If much of this team’s potential is realized, I could see a 10 and 2 team but 9 and 3 wouldn’t surprise me.
  15. I liked to think NU will eventually force Iowa and Wisconsin out of their schemes, particularly on defense, as the Huskers’ superior speed of our skilled players run past their defenders. Perhaps even offensively as their offensive lines will no longer be able to over power our D lines. Okay maybe a bit of wishful thinking and fan bias on my part, but I still can see it happen. For you football experts, can you see Frost emptying the backfield with five speed receivers, taking out the TE, for a play or two? Kind of a run and shoot look I guess — and having Washington (if he plays), Robinson, Spielman, Hunt and maybe Houston or some other combination as the wideouts? Yes, I know I am dreaming some, but is this even possible, or without a TE blocking, would it be too hard to achieve?
  16. Marvin Scott said he is making his decision next weekend in an interview with Greg Smith. He said Nebraska really stood out with the campus and Lincoln and really likes the facilities. He has spoken to all the coaches. I would be totally shocked if we don’t get him.
  17. I wonder then if Frost will tell him not to commit yet.
  18. He looks fast enough with tremendous moves and great acceleration.
  19. Apparently a knee injury. I really feel bad for the kid. He already has burned a RS.
  20. He is making an early impression, according to Greg Smith. Green is willing to learn and has gotten “right to it,” as Smith described him. He believes Green will be in the rotation. We will find out.
  21. According to Greg Smith, Nebraska is still recruiting him, and he pointed out that the USC commit hasn’t taken his official visit to Lincoln. Also the coaches are still recruiting Reed, the Wisconsin commit. While he had officially visited Nebraska, both his parents have not been to Lincoln. As Greg Smith pointed out, it will be difficult to get them to Lincoln on “their own dime” but not impossible.
  22. I depends on how the question was asked. He hasn’t taken an official visit to Lincoln yet. Did I read somewhere that he visited Nebraska for only two hours on an unofficial? If we are behind, the official could change all that if he is wowed by the Huskers. While we did lose one big prospect to Wisconsin this year, Frost track record against the Badgers in recruiting has been good. But the way he was talking, we may eventually have more competition before it’s all said and done. So if an Alabama, a Clemson and an Ohio State come calling, it will become more difficult to get him.
  23. While Craig had decent speed, I guess I can’t classify him as a burner. Those who remember the 1981 game where Nebraska beat Missouri 6 to 0, Craig broke into the clear of what appeared to be a sure TD. But there was a DB who was at least 10 yards behind him and who caught up to him and brought him down without any angle. With that said, Craig was a great back.
  24. Unless I missed a post on him in this thread, Roger Craig should be mentioned somewhere. He had over 1000 yards rushing, along with Rozier, in 1981. Yes his injured-plagued senior season was a disappointment, but look at his NFL career — one year he had over 1000 yards in both running and receiving for the 49ers. His production in the NFL was similar to Green who was with the Packers. He had both power and finesse. A healthy Craig without Rozier in 1982 would amounted to over 1,500 yards rushing that year. If you remember, Osborne tried him at FB behind Rozier at the beginning of the 1982 season.
