  1. Game Day Guys/Gals & Kids.... Let's have some fun in the sun and hit that rock often!! So pumped for the season... LETS GO!!!!
  2. UNC & Notre Dame would be huge gets.. Neither will happen though as Notre Dame is entirely too self loathing and elitist. Kansas won't happen either as there isn't any real need. They're going to be pressured into at least 1 more West Coast team.. (Stanford or Cal likely) and honestly, the research dollars Cal generates is a HUGE factor. (Though Stanford gets a hefty amount too.) The East Coast Schools that make sense are Pittsburgh, Duke/UNC and don't rule out Virginia either... These 4 schools are HUGE research schools. The likes of Utah, Kansas, Oregon, Washington simply can't compare with the 4 east coast schools. If/when expansion occurs it will be in the east and maybe (though doubtful) Notre Dame. Truth is, Notre Dame holds all the cards and they know it. The moment they decide to join either the SEC or B!G conference fully then alignment changes will quickly follow. I can see the SEC saying "we're best in athletics" and B1G saying "so what, we out you 3 to 1 in research $.$$". Nobody wants to admit it though we all know it... the big money for the conference comes from the tax payers pockets through grant dollars and honestly... it's not even close. edit: couple mistakes but mostly a link through 2021 of grant funds for R&D projects and lastly, University of Nebraska's total Grant expenditures year 2020
  3. Hmm... for sure thought both OSU and Indiana would have been ahead of us.
  4. Neither will be interested in Nebraska... maybe creighton but that nebraska bridge was burned... Don't blame Coach Hoiberg if he passes!! To often past players have snubbed their noses at both nebraska and creighton basketball. Rather frustrating if I'm being honest. Both can rot on the bench of any school as far as I'm concerned.
  5. Yep, I'm sitting at my desk wishing I was in San Diego... not sure how much snow we have but I'm sure it's +7"
  6. That is an AWESOME picture... The player, the grit, the dirt, the clay... the give it all mentality of the image. They say a picture is worth a thousand words.. Well, let us hope this is a snap shot of the season to come and prophetic come season end!! It's baseball time!!! GBR!!!!!!!!
  7. Need to split with San Diego and beat one of the two SEC teams we face in Minny at a minimum. South Alabama in Mobile is a tough draw too.. winning that series would be a very good feather.. (can't get swept there). TBH, a .500 record heading into the S. Illinois series would be awesome!!
  8. Arian Foster, I mean "if it's on the internet it has to be true" ... yes
  9. I laughed so hard on this... best post I've seen for days!! Thank You @GSG
  10. @flatwaterfan Honestly, I think Bolt is going to put power at the plate so my guess is Hughes/Mozley (bats left so might be a first baseman with power, however they need to close the gap between 2nd & 1st so a southpaw 1st baseman would be preferred I'm sure). If defense is needed/wanted ... well then, it's hard to argue against Cerventes especially with his 6'1" frame. Dude can flat out get in the air and has flashed that glove more than once. Think Bolt is in a really good position with the Inf.. has power/speed/defense so like you I'd say "who knows". Personally, I want to see Mozley and Hughes battle it out with the late innings (7-9) given to Cerventes. Neither Hughes or Mozley have the height which a lot of managers want in their SS so there's that.
  11. We need a gap closer at second more that a run producer, yes? I mean, the DH is either an on base guy or dinger guy.. so, tightening up the infield, more important that bat potential. Am I wrong?
  12. Anxiously waiting for the sounds of baseball... Gotta a gut feeling this team has "it". Lots of serious potential in this group of ballers.. Should be a fun season, tough early schedule but it will prepare us well for the B1G!! Hit'em long, Hit'em deep, Hit'em often!!!! GBR!!!
  13. @Guy Chamberlin .. I say too each their own. Everyone has a news source they follow... that just happens to be one of mine. Outside of the cartoon post, the only article I actually read was this one.. Arctic Blast barreling toward America Interesting that you post a link of controversy though!! Feisty ole men, what are we to do with them?
  14. BEST depiction of identity awareness ever!! Enjoy
  15. Anyone know what the roster changes are? Also, when are college programs allowed to begin spring camp/training?
  16. Watching the Iowa/Kentucky game... Both offenses are offensively disgusting!!!

    1. admo

      admo

Iowa is awful.  But you do realize that Kentucky is right next to West Virginia and Louisville, right ?!??

      Stuff happens

  17. Nebraska and Trev chased again the hot commodity over loyalty to one.. I think the curse goes on until the university apologizes to karma by choosing the one over the hot!!! That said, a good coach can and will succeed here and I do think Rhule will rule the curse
  18. I think Rhule would have a mutiny on his hands if he doesn't offer the chance to stay. That said, I think MJ should weigh his options thoroughly. My concern is if there is a winning solution here. Many, many, many Nebraska fans really really Really wanted MJ to be given a chance. So unity might be a huge issue. Mickey will speak with the team obviously and because he's all class will do the best thing for everyone involved. (If he goes he'll do on his terms we hope and that likely should sooth most player emotions. It should also help fans move on too. If MJ decides to stay well.. this becomes a non-factor.)
  19. I'd very much like MJ to remain but I think he has too many loyal fans (me) that need him to move on. We need now to cut the ties to avoid internal strife. I am and will always be a HUGE Mickey fan. Yes I was hoping he'd become our next HC but now is the time to support the new staff. We'll know in a week how well Rhule can relate to young men when announced transfers and commits make decisions. Let's hope for the best for everyone here and give the new staff the support they deserve. On a side note.. I believe yesterday showed just how close we are to righting the ship and honestly, MJ can walk with his head held high. From the start he said he, this staff and these players would stay or go but the team would be better off and they are.
  20. Contract negotiations still going on.. everyone is all hyped about this and as it stands currently the only thing Rhule is coaching is his dog on ways to piss on his neighbors lawn. Time will tell but nothing is final yet.
  21. This imo is a repeat mistake of a hire. Rhule will be a bust here. Karma could have been flipped with loyalty to MJ from the administration but instead the administration is repeating past mistakes and canning a loyal coach. Gotta say this repeat mistake is getting old. On a hopeful note, maybe MJ gets a chance at ASU with BB and BA tagging along with him. Mickey is the right choice but the blind continue leading the blind.
  22. I'm thinking this hire (if it's absolute) is a wait and see. He has had success rebuilding programs but there's one thing everyone is overlooking... state populations. Texas #2, Pennsylvania #5 and then you have Nebraska #37... In the two previous rebuilds (Temple & Baylor respectively) Rhule was surrounded with talent. That's not the case here so we'll have to wait and see.
  23. Sadly, if it's Rhule I doubt MJ stays and that means many (if not most) of the recruits are gone too. Hopefully whoever is the next HC they focus on developing the ability to run the ball. I'm sick and tired of hearing this BS about wide open offense. Shorten the game, control the clock and RUN THE STINKING ROCK!!!
