  1. Won't happen. You need 1/4 of the SEC to vote no in order to block a new member from joining. A&M likes to think they are a quarter of the conference, but alas they are not.
  2. Can't 'get rid' of conference teams, they have to leave on their own accord....contracts, lawyers, and lawsuits and such. No way Missouri or A&M (or any other team) walks away from a top tier conference in visibility with top tier money. Clemson is not going to leave a conference that they rule to be second or third fiddle in a new conference. I think we go after Duke once ND declines. But with our current inept leadership, we may very well end up with Cinn, Pitt, Cuse, take your pick. That can change quickly once they start getting 30+ mill a year in Big 10 TV payouts. Who doesn't? But getting Kansas and Duke to join us would be the BB coup of the century. No way is the Big 10 interested in Colorado. Their sports all suck and they bring nothing academically to the table. Won't happen. The political pressure from SEC brass will be too high. A&M will prob be the only no vote.
  3. Time to do the right thing and admit I was wrong about us rejoining a re-imagined Big 12. The leadership of that conference are so terrible that they have turned the conference into a raging dumpster fire. Things are so bad, the leading bad actor Texas wants out lol. Official announcements from Texas and OU in the coming weeks that they intend not to renew contracts with the Big 12. We can now just sit back and relax (THANK YOU AGAIN TO!!) and watch as the Big 12 ship goes down. Meanwhile Texas with corkscrew in hand and covered in sawdust and OU get into a life boat and start rowing toward the SEC galleon. The two teams we should go after are easily Kansas and Notre Dame. Notre Dame does play hockey in the Big 10, but is mostly tied to the ACC. If ND declines, we should go after Duke.
  4. Forget being basement dwellers in our own division the past 3 years....Husker Homer says Adrian is the 3rd best QB in the league! Husker Homer also says Runza is the best food on earth and Dorthy Lynch should be used on every meal, even as an ice cream topping.
  5. Vals is a salt lick block with pizza flavoring. Try to eat Vals without anything to drink....I dare you.
  6. Forget states, lets level up to countries. You do understand there are International Businesses with their HQ in only one country right? Walmart - Bentonville, Arkansas. Microsoft - Redmond, Washington. Nike - Portland, Oregon and about 30,000 others. https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/walmart-locations-by-country.html
  7. Wheres the fun in that? Online discussion boards are meant for fun banter, inspire new thoughts and approaches, create new avenues of understanding and challenge thought strongholds. Online boards have become massive echo-chamber-group-think black holes with a bunch of borg chanting in unison the same ole "But money!" excuse. Back in my day when someone did something just for the money the were considered a "Sell Out".
  8. You did not get the memo? Texas OWNS the Big 12. The Big 12 HQ is in Dallas, TEXAS. The majority of people who work at said office are from TEXAS. When we were a part of the Big 12 conference, when there was a voting issue most everyone voted along with TEXAS with NU being the sole dissenter in many cases (per TO quotes). TEXAS was allowed to have their own competing network (longhorn network) against the Big 12 espn 'network' while everyone else cannot have this perk. Fan-bases who wanted to watch a football game against TEXAS were forced to pay-per view the longhorn network and literally send money to the University of TEXAS. The Big 12 Championship game is held annually in Arlington, TEXAS. To avoid there being any further horrific bias in the Big 12, changes need to be made. To avoid this same BS occurring just with another school, a neutral sight needs to be picked. Turns out we have these technological contraptions called a phone, internet, and fax machines allowing businesses to run other locations very far away from their HQ!
  9. NU returning to the Big 12 would come along with A TON of stipulations attached. We would not just crawl back through the dog door in Dallas begging to return. Here is a short list: Big 12 Network (comparable to Big 10) established (each school paying an equal share to get the network going) with equal team shared payouts for all conference members and no probation period We come back only if Colorado or Missouri returns. My money is on Colorado. Making the conference what its actual name is and an even split of 6 teams in each division. Move the Big 12 HQ to Indianapolis, IN. Veto Power that each member can use on any voting issue twice a year. School vetos can never be overridden. Each Alma-mater has an equal number of management employees at the Big 12 HQ. North (NE, CU, KU, KSU, WV, ISU) and South (OU, OSU, TX, TT, TCU, BA) divisions. Division cross play is equal and a preset pattern. Texas cannot force any game to only be on the Long Horn Network, must also be on the Big 12 Network or another National Channel. New conference logo/branding (current one sucks) Football Championship game for the division winners to be played in Indianapolis with a new trophy just like the Big 10 trophy but 24K gold.
  10. There are tons of advantages of going back. IF Colorado becomes the 12th team along with us returning to the Big 12, our teams will not have to travel half way across the country to play most of our conference with Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas St. all in our back yard. Having North and South Divisions would allow us to avoid playing Texas every year like we currently do with that East Division team in the Big 10. Would be nice to be recognized in the title of the conference we belong to. Would be nice to return to our winning records against our conference foes rather than our current BADLY losing records. Would be nice to return to a conference that is ran by sane conservatives who have the ability to make sound decisions....Warren not allowing non-conference games for baseball (which cost us a very bad seeding in the CWS) while simultaneously allowing non-conference games for basketball...Warren not allowing Football to start until super late taking us out of the national spotlight and a chance for any of our teams to be in the playoff....Warren running a dumpster fire of a conference HQ. All of the teams in our division having no respect for us...Wisconsin cancelling our Football game AND our volleyball games. They say they tested positive, but who has the official say on the test results...is it not the Big 10 HQ lackeys? Big 10 giving cupcake schedules to Wisconsin while giving us the most difficult schedule they could come up with. Lets face it, the bridge from Lincoln to the Big 10 HQ was burned and buried at this point by Moos AND Frost (don't remember their comments about destroying the Big 10 in football before they even played a game?). You think we are going to stick around in this situation and let this play out for a few extra bucks? Compared to our 270+ million endowment and NU booster money, losing 10-20 million a year IS a few extra bucks.
  11. Being able to watch events unfold, listen to inside sources and have an opinion is scary for some. Add Moos being fired and Frost losing his top recruits to the transfer portal every year to that list I just provided. Don't blink, you just might miss something.
  12. Ed Stewart. Big XII. Matt Campbell. Set your clock to it. Bet your retirement on it.
  13. If Matt Davison becomes our next AD, you might as well douse the whole thing in gasoline and light a match.
  14. At what point do you cut your losses and move on? Frost had three years (and now a 4th try) to spark a resurgence and rally this football program back into the national fray, but instead we have received one loss after another and one embarrassment after another. Watch Frost after the games and tell me that is not a man who has given up. I see no spark. I see no drive. I see endless excesses. I see him constantly throw his own players under the bus. I see a man counting his days until his return to Florida where every day is sunny and warm and work is easy and fun with a butt-kissing local media to boot. Plenty of schools in FL that would like to have Frost in charge. Frost even said he likes to recruit in the day and be back home by dinner. I bet his wife would love to see the NE winters in her rear-view mirror. Frost can walk around FL all day long and not be harassed or recognized by the locals. Was it not Frost who put out warnings to the media and locals that his "child and wife were off limits" before even moving here? Why the defensive stance against those he (supposedly) wants to spend the rest of his life and career around? Would he not feel more safe for his family in FL where very few people know who he is? There are too many positives for Frost to go back to FL and too many negatives for him to stay here.
  15. Like announcing that starting in 2022 we are going back to the Big XII?
  16. Yep, Ed Stewart is the next AD at NU. Ed is currently the Executive Associate Commissioner of Football for the Big XII. He will be perfect for negotiating our way back into the Big XII and securing us a Big XII coach who will do well in the conference. The Big 10 Experiment has failed. No amount of money can sweep away 100 years of tradition and the NU brass would much rather live in the shadow of OU than OSU. We are going back to the Big XII (Missouri and Colorado are also potentially returning). New member rules and a potential move of the Big 12 HQ to a more central (neutral) location on the negotiating table. Big 12 Network channel in the works, will eventually be making the money we currently make with the Big 10. North and South divisions for the Big XII are happening. Playing Texas will be rare for us. Matt Campbell will be replacing Frost after this season.
  17. I am not so sure development is lacking, but more role diversification. He tends to play the role 'Hector' a bit too much. With my favorites being 'Army of One' and 'Home', I do however think it is time for a more substantial major lead for Adrian Martinez. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0553440/
  18. Fans looking deep into the stats, looking for any increase in anything positive over the past three years.... Fans realizing that we suck and it's not changing any time soon....
  19. It's called the Wedontwanttoplay Bowl. Each player will receive a wedontwantto playstation.
  20. I fully agree with the break sentiment. That is why I want them to take the next two weeks off and then come back for one more week of practice January 4th and then play a scheduled 'bowl' game January 9th. This team needs any extra practices it can get and the fans deserve to see a bowl game since we have not got one since December 30th of 2016. I believe this is reinforcing a 'quitters' mentality in the team. Our players will be going home and watching other college teams play bowl games....even though the NCAA basically gave us the opportunity to schedule our own bowl game at a time of our choosing (after the holidays). An opportunity that will never come again.
  21. I want the players to take the next two weeks off and be home with their families. Your wrong. I want us to play a game in early January with a week of practice starting the 4th and ending with a game on January 9th. Did not the NCAA say we could schedule our very own 'bowl' game? Your wrong again. Wanting a team to play while 50+ other teams are also playing is not disguising anything as anything. Your wrong yet again, again.
  22. Yes, standing up for the program and wanting our team which has been brought together to play games, to actually play games is now wrong? Were you in a coma just a few months ago when Frost and Moos (and the fans/media) were fighting to have a season? Talk about a 180 degree turn in people's attitudes. At least I am consistent, and still have the balls to speak my opinion, rather than parrot the sentiment of the majority. Most Husker Fan websites would be an excellent study of group think.
  23. Translation (minus the adult tantrum part): "right, cause playing any game against a decent opponent would expose us as being a very bad team that would be insult to injury and would further degrade the program in the eyes of the just about everyone." Why continue to play games at all with that logic?
  24. Must of missed my other post about taking the next two weeks off (includes both holidays) to be with family and resuming practices the week of January 4th and playing our 'bowl game' January 9th.
