  1. Hit several nails on the head.. and that a lot of Husker fan seem to be dancing around and not addressing it head on. That last paragraph sums up the article. The article seems controversial to many Husker fans because it's not a sugar job on SF and it is written by somebody "out there" and not here camping out on the Memorial Stadium steps.

  3. I followed that link and the closet with all my Husker gear caught fire. Do not follow that link. Unless you're an Iowa fan, then by all means go ahead.
  4. That's us, Husker fans, spoken well. I also feel that being a loyal fan gives me the right to piss and moan about what I see occurring on the field (especially our home field these days; home win streak long gone). Lord, help us through the night.
  5. Interesting take. I confess to not considering that fact of the turnovers inflating defensive PPG allowed. Thanks. But please join the crowdfunding drive to remove Chinander. Thanks again.
  6. Yeah. Yeah. Where are the Huskers these days? Just where are they? Meanwhile, two wins ago (several weeks ago) the head coach said, "We appear to have turned a bit of a corner today." Yeah.
  7. I have been hoping for a shakeup. Especially after each home loss to teams we were favored to beat here.
  8. I'm with you in welcoming freshman starters these last games of the season. They're likely a bit less steeped in the "culture" SF keeps referring to (and some of us have noticed), and they're also in a position to realize that they can't perform any worse than many of their older team mates (sad to say).
  9. And that brings us back to my (hyperbolic) post up there about these players/coaches over the past years and several coaches. I'm with you on the spreading the blame thing; there is a lot to be said for players and coaches having to be on the same page (in addition to the talent of each of course). But my thoughts about the Huskers now always come back to what I see as I sit in my seat at the stadium: most of the guys out there are just not playing 100% ("on fire," "passion to win" etc) through the game. It seems to break down quickly and then we have the big numbers in yardage and points racking up for our opponent.
  10. Needless to say I disagree on the "a lot." Mainly because of my point(s) about this DC, Chinander. I don't get it with his schemes and his inability to develop consistent play makers/big play stoppers (other than occasional). They routinely get outrun in the open field. They are too often giving up big losses between D-line players. They make plays from time to time but too late; look at our d stats in the Big Ten. Suh could not have corrected this. A proven, seasoned DC could have. IMO. We haven't had that in ages.
  11. Just to illustrate my concerns: I admire what Suh accomplished and just admire him as a person. But... What difference would Suh make on this defense we have now, with this DC?
  12. Here and there .. even this season. But I know what you mean; as in motivated to win the game, not just to make a tackle or catch here and there.
  13. That list could be trimmed. But I do have great appreciation for those players. I'm guilty of a bit of hyperbole. But... Meanwhile, our defense over the two decades, has gotten gradually worse and our offense often has scored enough to win games that the defense let us down on.
  14. (googling banky) ... Oh, that Nigerian singer. Cool.
  15. $35 million. We get him for seven years. Another article by Simple Sipple wanders around the old "needs more time" mantra we've been hearing for twenty years now. Nothing about the defense, of course, just Frost whining about not sleeping and Sipple comparing him to great coaches in basketball and football who've had a few downs with their ups. Helpful hint to Sipple: One good year at UCF doth not a great coach make.
  16. Frost is admittedly offense oriented. So.. what gifts he has as a coach are lost on the other half of the team due to 100% trust in the DC. I can't trust a DC who gives up so many damned points. Neither should he.
  17. I don't know what Dr. Tom did, as to any changes in his (perceived) role coaching and running the team. I do know that HIS f#&%ING DEFENSE WAS AWESOME. And I also know that for twenty years now OUR DEFENSE SUCKS PURPLE DISEASED CROW DROPPINGS. Nice post. I gave you one of those trophy thingies.
  18. Yay. You've got to get the joke. Once you get the joke, why hell...
  19. Sad. Thinking we're so low at this point in time that the notion we need Minnesota as a "model for us" is actually being discussed.
  20. Post after post mentioning the linebackers, and then of course the Big Truth of the whole front 7 being garbage. We do of course see our safety get outrun on a routine basis. And we see our crap a$$ stats on third downs, etc. And our poor sets on every other play. Our defensive slowness, weakness, silliness, and lack of leadership. The thread is about the poorest defensive unit, though. Is the DC a unit?
  21. Just wondering; people don't bump topics here, do they? I sure hope not. I wouldn't even want to be a member of a forum where topic bumping was allowed. lol, lmao, har har.. etc..
  22. As if all/most of the over 2 thousand votes are from Husker fans. I can see Mizzou etc fans having a blast with this poll "..checked out.." response.
