  1. Dems are just as corrupt if not more so than the GOP, and now they've drifted so far left that their actual policies are radical. JFK would not recognize the Dem party of today. I can agree with the left on legalizing marijuana and a reasonable path to citizenship for illegals off the top of my head, but pretty much every other policy is pure idiocy
  2. I find these types of comments that litter the P&R forum on this board to be... not sure if the right word is hysterical, delusional, off base, or a combination of all those... not because the GOP isn't what you describe, but because people here seem to think that the Dems are any better. And this is the type of thinking (on both sides) that perpetuates the election of crap candidates with crap policies that continue to erode individual liberties, spend money we don't have, and expand the scope of the federal government far beyond a legitimate, effective, or sustainable size, thereby inevitably ensuring either an eventual collapse, civil war, or both. Yes, both parties do this.
  3. What incentive would i have to lie? If i were a Republican I'd tell you
  4. I've never voted for a particular party and never will. I've voted Dem, Republican, and 3rd party based on whoever's policy proposals are best. Voting straight party tickets is the ignorant view, and so is making assumptions that are incorrect, so i agree - ignorance is disgusting.

  6. About 15 minutes before kickoff, i started to wonder what the crowd would look like. It was definitely a late arriving crowd, but it ended up pretty much full which is incredible considering the circumstance.
  7. https://www.wsj.com/articles/firm-hired-by-ukraines-burisma-tried-to-use-hunter-biden-as-leverage-documents-show-11573009615 https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/diplomat-tells-investigators-he-raised-alarms-in-2015-about-hunter-bidens-ukraine-work-but-was-rebuffed/2019/10/18/81e35be9-4f5a-4048-8520-0baabb18ab63_story.html I'm sure there's nothing there at all...
  8. There's also a list of politicians who used taxpayer money to settle sexual assault lawsuits (both R and D). It's one of the more egregious things that I can think of, and every last one of those people should be exposed, prosecuted, and forced to pay that money back to the treasury plus interest. This is all I'm saying: unless all the other pond scum - elected and non-elected - who have abused the power of the government for their own benefit are prosecuted, I don't see removing Trump from office over this Ukraine situation as being something that will work out well for anyone... Even if all the claims that are being made against Trump are true in regards to Ukraine, most reasonable people look at the Biden situation and know there's something really fishy with that situation, so a lot of people view Trump asking Ukraine to look into it as not a big deal. Beyond that, there's a lot more nuance to the discussion that doesn't get brought up - the fact that the president has the right to hold foreign aid at his discretion, the fact that Trump didn't even get what he was asking for yet and the aid was released, etc Again, I'm not saying he shouldn't get impeached. I'm definitely not saying that he should get away with corruption because every president before him did. But I'm also not saying that he should be impeached either.
  9. Doesn't look good for Andy Janovich.
  10. Nice try, but I did not say I'm against impeaching Trump.
  11. Thank you for the strawman. That's not what anyone here has said.
  12. Heading to my first husker game of the Scott Frost era this morning. I hope this is the game where the team puts everything together :ohnoes

It should be a great day for a game.

  13. Well there are no judges in this case at this point - just a bunch of partisan hacks on each side blinded by their confirmation bias one way or the other. What Redux is pointing to is that this impeachment hearing has greater probability of riling up trump's base than it does of actually damaging him (unless he were to be removed from office). And in the meantime, the candidates at the forefront of the Democrat race currently are utterly horrendous to the point where reasonable people who do not affiliate with a party will either abstain or vote 3rd party before they'll cast a vote for a Dem... Moreover, the premise of the entire impeachment is pretty dumb tbh. Even if conservatives were to be persuaded that what Trump did with regards to Ukraine was wrong, the severity of what he's being scrutinized for pales in comparison to the bullsh#t that's gone on under previous administrations that never received anywhere near the outrage. Here's a list just from our last president, and there would be equally horrible lists from Bush, Clinton, & Bush Sr, etc. Which begs the question, where the hell was all this outrage when your "team" was in power?... cue the excuses... https://www.heritage.org/political-process/commentary/obamas-scandal-free-administration-myth
  14. Illinois and Minnesota.... ugh... can't wait till we don't suck
  15. Rudolph started it by trying to pull Garrett's helmet off after he got tackled, so at the very least, he should get a fine.
  16. Believe me, I wouldn't feel sorrow if we were to get a top notch DC. I'm just saying the PPG allowed by the defense is inflated by the offense turning the ball over, and a combination of the offense & special teams losing the field position battle all year.
  17. I don't think you're wrong, but i do think you have to take into account: - our offense has turned the ball over in terrible times and left our defense in horrible positions (3 times against S. Alabama alone) - starting field position for our defense has to be one of the worst in the country. These don't excuse the amount of points the D has given up, and how poorly the LBs have played, etc. but I've been far more disappointed in the offense
  18. If you don't want to vote for corruption, you might as well stay home on ballot day
