  1. Our inability to score when we we need it most is only complimented by our opponents ability to always score when they need it. Every team will always hit the shot they need against us, I know it happens to other teams too, it just seems like it happens to us more often than anyone else. Had the game in control under 2 minutes, should have won that one.
  2. Typical 2nd half start, turnovers, cant make a shot (not unlike the first half), and other team comes out unable to miss anything they throw up in the air.
  3. If Jaimes is the best we have, then we are in big trouble (based on 2019 performance). I don't recall how many replays I watched this year where Jaimes got beat resulting in a negative play or failure to convert type of situation..but I remember his name being one that I felt always missed or got beat when it counted most. Maybe I am being a little unfair to him, but it's just what I remember from watching replays this season.
  4. Yep, I watched the swing pass have some great success yesterday in a few different games. Every time a team ran it, it looked way different than ours though, at least in the way that the defense was defending. What I saw work to perfection was the team would have 2 WR to the side, they would run the outside WR on a fly and they would float the slot WR to the sideline. The only other defender out there was a LB or Nickel playing about 10 -12 yards off of the slot WR every time. The crazy thing is when other teams ran it, it wasn't anything surprising or exceptional, it was usually actually fairly slow developing. The main difference was that the person guarding the slot WR would never jump the swing pass route (something that every single team does automatically when we run it, not to mention they are playing about 3-5 yards off of us). All the guy would do is catch the ball, had 10 yards of open field and (ONE) slower less athletic defender on him every single time.
  5. That Oklahoma defense does look pretty identical to what we do...can't argue there.
  6. Looking at TAMUCCs W-L this season they have beat a lot of teams that I didn't even realize existed...but they've also had some very close losses to some P5 schools like Vandy and TAMU. The way we've played so far this season we could win by 20 or lose by 15..depends which Nebraska team shows up. Looking at TAMUCC roster they play a couple of guys that are 6'8 and a guy that is 6'10. I could see them, like every team we've played this year, destroying us on the boards and getting a lot of 2nd and 3rd chance putbacks...hope I am wrong. This is obviously one we should easily win, then again so was North Dakota.
  7. Only thing I can think of here is that obviously Tennessee smack dab in the middle of a recruiting hotbed. Now...same can be said for USC and look how that turned out..so your point is definitely valid. Tennessee has the ability to pull kids from Alabama, Georgia, The Carolinas, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri and still be close to being one state away for kids that want to stay close to home. Think of how many top end recruits are in those states and still can play close-is to home. The odd thing is after all of their head coaching issues last couple years, didn't effect them one bit in recruiting..
  8. Think this guys measurebales alone are worth it to get him on campus, find a spot for him.... big rangy athletic guy.
  9. he's talking about our fans for sure? if so thats messed up..
  10. I was literally screaming at the TV probably 3 different times to Yvan...if i remember correctly he had 2-3 missed wide open layups that he could have easily dunked...er, well i HOPE he could dunk
  11. Is Samari Curtis gone from roster for good or potential for playing time might sway to stay?? Anyone know?
  12. I don't disagree with you here....but if the problems last the entire season again they will crowing rightfully so.
  13. IF this is indeed the case, it really makes me question why when the other two were healthy they didn''t see more playing time. If it hindered him that much, in effect hindering the team, then why would you not play someone who isn't banged up. I realize that Vedral was banged up at times too...but not the whole season.
  14. At this point we will just take anyone and everyone who can make a shot.
  15. I think what it all comes down to is no one other than the 3 of them TRULY knows what actually happened....there a million and one ways this could have went down, who are we to say they didn't actually do it, maybe they really are terrible guys and are guilty...maybe the woman was mad at them for something else and they did and made some parts of it up or exaggerated, maybe it was consensual, but then she changed her mind, or they were all so blitzed or drunk they all didn't remember the details....who knows... I am not saying they are guilty, I am not saying they are innocent. Its he said she said unless there is more evidence coming from this. That being said you can't automatically believe her, and you can't automatically discount her...end of story IMO.
  16. Now it allll makes sense why we pulled the offer here .... someone on the staff was tipped off that TCU would be offering him, so we pulled our offer as the upcoming de-commit was looming inevitably..
  17. This is my number one guy I think for the success of this offense next year that is a must get. If we don't get him we better land someone very similarly built in a grad transfer otherwise our offense next year may look much the same as it did this year is my fear.
  18. Eerily similar to another Martinez....hobble an injured QB out there who can't do what he is supposed to do instead of playing a possibly not as talented backup (maybe debatable) who is probably at or much closer to 100%...guess we didn't learn our lesson the first time.
  19. I haven't ever claimed to know more than the coaches, I'm positive they know better than anyone, but it's odd to me that the guys on the field who haven't been performing aren't ever really replaced, no one else is given their shots when our starters can't do anything game after game...if they're given a shot and they're worse..so be it, put the first guy who already wasn't doing anything back in..what do you have to lose (nothing). Your last sentence also sounds like what we did all year already...so there's that.
  20. Ok, i get that....so why not use him on special teams, why not use him as a KR OR PR ..why not use him as a jet sweep guy... why not pass to him on our beloved swing passes? None of those require blocking. Would we really refuse to use a guy with speed in positions to allow him to try to be a game changer just cuz he can't block?
  21. Agree.....i feel like this staff..along with past staff as well...kind of stuck to who was going to play and wasn't really ever Willing to throw a guy out there to see if they could make anything happen in a game. There were a few games this year that woulda been perfect to see what the bench guys could do, yet we still stuck with pretty much our starters even when it was pretty evident they weren't doing much of anything either...this goes for several positions on the field...its head scratching for sure to wonder what these guys do ..or don't do to even get a fair look in a game.
  22. Absolutely agree here. I think this is one of the reasons our offense was so bad this year. We had NO downfield threat whatsoever. We need WR who are over 5 10 and can win some jump balls downfield and out on the edge. Every team we played this year knew we were only running it or doing a swing pass, makes it pretty easy to press and stack the box and defend when you know your opponent cant pass the ball more than a few yards downfield.
  23. I don't disagree with you at all here, for losses and poor play early in the season. Another factor I think in the early part of the season was just the O Line in general. The main factor in losses towards the middle to end of the year in my opinion as Jurgens and the offense improved AM seemed to just keep getting worse and worse. I think poor QB play alone accounted for at least 2 of our losses, maybe more...
