  1. It’s the first quarter you guys. Calm down
  2. He’s never been on anything but a garbage team. I think he’s a decent player.
  3. I’d feel a lot better about this game if Vedral wasn’t playing. Kid is a gamer
  4. Dabo Swinney is the obvious one. But he's definitely the exception, not the norm.
  5. While this is partially true that they act as an intermediary I believe sometimes they may bring candidates to the table that you may not even be considering. ie Lincoln Riley. If I had to guess USC probably didn't start their search with Lincoln Riley as a viable candidate. But a search firm might say, "I know you have these guys as possible candidates and we will certainly evaluate them, but what if I told you we've contact with ______ coach, and we think we may be able to get him to leave for ______ price. Then Trev might say, "No kidding, Lane Kiffin? Yea I'd definitely be interested."
  6. That's why "Just throw $15 million/year at Urban" is a horrible idea. Trying to buy success hasn't worked for the most part, in any sport. And honestly you throw that kind of money at any person it's hard to stay hungry. Also that's why it's easy to like Mickey right now. He knows he isn't owed anything.
  7. Is Garcia-Castenada hurt? He had some great plays against NW and I don't recall seeing him since then.
  8. Remind me, why didn’t we recruit him again?
  9. What is this measuring, points per play?
  10. TBH, Mickey could retain Busch and Applewhite and hire family members for every other position and it would be far better than what we've had for the last 10 years!
  11. I think you hire Mickey for his leadership qualities, his ability to relate to players and to manage people. You then go out and pay big $ for top notch coordinators that will run the schemes you desire. We already know Trev will clear Mickey to pay whatever he needs so I doubt he'd have any trouble getting guys to work for him. No doubt Busch would remain, but I don't think it would be as the DC. I could see him getting a ST coordinator associate HC type title. I think the only way you go this route with Mickey is if you hire a proven successful DC. My gut feeling is that Whipple is going to be one year and he'll go back to the NFL in some capacity next year even if Mick is retained. Joe Brady perhaps? I think in any scenario that Mickey ends up as HC, we would have a recruiting dream team at the very least.
  12. I'm going preface what I'm about to say with I never thought up until now that Mickey was a serious candidate for HC. But I'm going to do a 180 and say that I think he is VERY much being considered. Trev and Mickey played together so they go way back. In my opinion Mickey was hired by Trev, not Scott. If you put the puzzle pieces together it's easy to believe that Mickey ending up here when he did is more than a coincidence. He didn't leave the comfort of his home state, which is full of talent for the position that he coached for a tiny pay raise. He came here with the intention of being the next HC.
  13. Watching that was like watching your ex find happiness with another guy, who’s a douche btw. You try and pretend you’re happy for her but deep down your wallowing in your own lonely misery. Not that I know why that feels like or anything, I’m just assuming. Damnit Hayley please take me back!!
  14. I noticed on Twitter is lots of former players congratulating AM which is no surprise. Then it got me thinking, I never seen one single reaction or Tweet in support of Frost from any formers players either. Not a single one
  15. Will Nixon is now a running back at Washington and scored a touchdown tonight against Stanford.
  16. Not that we had any doubts at this point but AM finally proving are issues were beyond him. Finally doing what we could never do here.
  17. No it doesn’t. It states that he returns to his role upon the hiring of a new coach. The new coach is not obligated to keep him in that role though.
  18. Yea cause it worked so well for us before!
  19. Word is he’s tired of playing second fiddle to Chip and Joanna Gaines in Waco. Why did Lincoln Riley leave a perennial top 5 school to go to USC?
  20. Yea, for some reason there's been a lot of empty seats in my section this season so we've been able to spread out a bit at least.
  21. This is perfect in my opinion. It will increase revenue at basketball and baseball games. I'm not a big baseball fan but going to the ballpark on a nice spring afternoon and having a beer or two sounds appealing to me. But I'm not sold on having beer in Memorial. The seating is so damn tight I'm not excited about having a draft beer dumped down my back as people try and squeeze through the aisles. And the pisser situation is already dreadful.
  22. Personally I think 5 years ago it would have made more sense to do the latter. Get a defensive guy and focus on the development in the trenches. With this strategy you would probably be years away from competing at a really high level. But now with NIL and the transfer portal I think you go out and try and get a big name and as many great recruiters as you can. You can literally flip your roster in 1-2 years and be competitive right away. That being said if you go that route it really has to be a "home run" or it won't work and you just end up with a disaster, if that makes sense.
  23. I was with you until you threw out Zac Taylor. This is a great swing for the fences list otherwise though.
  24. Aranda is starting to make a lot of sense to me. I’m sure Baylor wouldn’t let him go easy though.
