  1. A little story about that game. My then girlfriend now wife left our tickets to this game on our table at Old Chicago. About halfway to the stadium I said, “you got the tickets right” as I always do half jokingly and she got this panicked look on her face. I sprinted back and luckily the waitress picked them up and was kind enough not to sell them even though they were great seats and hard tickets to get. I’m not certain I’d be with my wife today if those tickets hadn’t have been there haha.
  2. Honestly I attribute that mostly to better coaching/play calling. How did you like that Minnesota game last year? I think for the most part we've been physically outmatched by those teams pretty consistently the last 5 years. But luckily Frost has addressed it and I believe we've almost seen the end of it.
  3. Imagine not getting physically dominated by Wisconsin and Iowa year after year.
  4. It could be a part of it. But still, if we were playing today and he was on a special teams unit getting on the field we probably aren’t having this conversation.
  5. I fkn knew this transfer was coming, sucks. This next recruiting class has less start power but a lot of local flavor. Hopefully results in lower turnover so we aren’t left with a bunch of holes in the roster.
  6. That hatred to me makes them fun to play. I don’t feel that strongly towards any B1G teams
  7. Yea, but CU and Mizzou are gone, two of the funnest rivalries. That takes a lot of the luster out of it for me.
  8. The parents lawsuit is demanding that all of these details and recordings of these meetings be released so maybe there will be more clarity soon.
  9. Not surprisingly some parents of our players have joined in a lawsuit against the Big 10. They are demanding more information be brought forth regarding the “votes” as well as scientific data and medical information used by the council by Monday the 24th. If information is not brought forth they will be filing suit seeking the documents and and “immediate relief”. Probably won’t amount to much other than possibly getting a little more clarity but they’re just pissing in the wind at this point if you ask me.
  10. Doesn’t sound like a fun season, but I guarantee we’d be much improved next year.
  11. I was thinking a spring schedule would be March-April but yes point taken.
  12. Potential benefits.. No 100 degree September games. No 20 Degree Late November games. If we played a spring season we’d probably be way more polished going back into the fall season compared to the other teams.
  13. With current prices many may be willing to skip planting next year anyway
  14. I don't think there would be any kind of mass exodus because other places just don't have that many spots. But there are a handful of players on this this team schools would make room for that would really hurt to lose. I bet Omar Manning and Wandale Robinson could find spots elsewhere if they wanted too (not saying they'd leave). And I think there are a handful of young guys that are a long way from home that solely for the opportunity to play football here and now that's gone for at least the foreseeable future. Nadab Joseph, Keyshawn Greene are guys that could probably find homes that haven't really invested much into the program yet. But I agree for the most part I think our roster would mostly hold together.
  15. I also wonder how it could effect current walk-ons. With revenue will be taking a massive hit regardless what happens. Plus the possibility of having extra scholarship students for many sports, resources aren’t infinite. I wonder if they would start cutting some walk-ons loose.
  16. I agree that it just feels like changes are coming. I also agree that there is absolutely 0 appeal in playing Rutgers and Maryland in any sport, and as a whole I've just had a hard time getting excited about any B1G games, which may partially be because we've been awful for years. The Big 12 isn't really the same anymore either though. Mizzou and Colorado were some of the fun Big 12 rivalries and they're gone. Playing West Virginia doesn't excite me anymore than playing Maryland.
  17. According to your hypothetical graph that shows positive cases going parabolic, that’s assuming the same rate of testing. Now we are testing exponentially more people whether they are symptomatic or not. In that case the graph should be going EXTREMELY parabolic but it’s not. It’s showing a steady incline despite testing exponentially more people, your hypothetical graph doesn’t account for that l. In my opinion we did flatten the curve, but a graph that doesn’t account for the number of people tested is obviously going to paint a different picture.
  18. Correct but I’m asking why. I was under the impression we were closing everything down (and I realize it was not everything) not because the virus was so dangerous, but so we didn’t overwhelm hospitals. Ok we did that so now why are we making the decisions to keep schools closed and cancel sports. It’s simple, nobody wants the liability for this stuff so let’s just come out and say it.
  19. The original goal was to “flatten the curve” or so we were told. Somewhere we shifted to cancel everything until it is gone or a vaccine is found.
  20. I guess we just differ in opinion. I don’t think routine or “keeping busy” masks mental health problems. I think isolation and lack of meaningful purpose for some people can cause psychological issues. Really wasn’t the point of the post at all so we’ll just leave it at that. Point was I am confident that him and 99% of the other kids are better off there for a multitude of reasons.
  21. My point was really that there many factors to consider. And if we are really worried about player safety and health, we need to consider all the factors. But this isn’t about that, it’s about liability so let’s just call it what it is.
  22. What I just said was that this has breathed life into him and has brought him out of those places. And being a part of the team he has access to more help than he has his whole life.
