  1. https://huskers.com/news/2021/12/3/joseph-joins-husker-football-coaching-staff.aspx No mention of MJ as recruiting coordinator.
  2. A man can hope for no reason, can't he? Isn't this America?!?
  3. Guys, I think Kenny Pickett would actually be eligible for one more year at a different school as a grad transfer if he wanted it. Just saying...
  4. I knew Mitch Sherman was a clown the moment I started following him, sad to see him prove me right over and over.
  5. Yes they smoked us so bad to the point of 259 total yards of offense. They even almost matched our juggernaut high-powered 2009 offense, as we got 285 yards of offense. Look how embarrassing this beatdown was by Leach and TT's smoking offense:
  6. Imagine how stark these numbers would be if the Biden/Democrat counties weren't overwhelmingly urban and thus more dense. If you controlled for population density I bet the disparity would at least probably double.
  7. It's perfectly within expectations that folks who hide behind obtuse pedantic literalism would miss the lowest hanging fruit sarcasm.
  8. Trouble with this is it's very easy to be the second best team in your conference and not make the championship game. ie, Ohio State this year.
  9. Mickey was talking with NU at least a week or two before the Brian Kelly news. Doesn't mean he was guaranteed a spot since it was known that Orgeron wasn't coming back, but it definitely doesn't mean he made the decision because he lost his job.
  10. I don't think it's moving the goalposts. But I guess you're true that I would be pessimistic about the Army OC regardless, because I don't think it will work any way. The bias is against him as OC, imagining that there's little chance that will work out well. If he runs full triple option I don't think that will work well, and if he runs something other than that (the only offensive scheme he's ever coached for almost two decades) I don't see that working out well either. If you said "What if we get Mike Leach as OC?" I would say I don't think his air raid will work. If you then say "What if we get Mike Leach as OC but he runs a ground n' pound rushing attack?" I would then say I don't see why we would get the air raid guy to run an offense he doesn't know how to run.
  11. An offensive coordinator running a brand new offensive scheme he's never ran before with zero time to recruit any players for it is no cause for optimism imo.
  12. Georgia played Clemson and Bama played Miami in the non-con, not their fault those teams weren't great this year but they schedule tough marquee OOC matchups the same that we do. Do you really not think Georgia and Bama are in the running for the best 4 teams in the country? Who should be in over either?
  13. I really hope it isn't Davis from Army. Dude has zero coaching experience in anything other than the triple option. We wouldn't get good enough at it in 9 months with our current roster to save Frost's job next season, and even if we did, a pure triple option scheme is not conducive to high or sustained levels of success.
  14. Damon Benning has even less credibility than Mitch Sherman. Mitch Sherman is a very poor excuse for a journalist. Decent writer, awful journalist. As far as the 'drama', there is no drama; there's only unsubstantiated rumors of drama. I'm sure there's something there, but nothing to be worked up about based on what we know now.
  15. That kid is a genius. Leaves high school a year early to make millions of dollars in NIL and get elite training at OSU, now set for life and can go wherever he wants and get even more NIL from a different fanbase.
  16. How many of them are teachers or parents or fans who think they are national top 100 recruits? It's wild that you're so disappointed you never heard back without knowing any details on if they saw your email, followed up on it, were in contact, etc. What are you looking for, a text from Frost that says, "Thanks for the good tip The Scarlet Pimpernel, he looks like a great player but after being in contact (because of your great suggestion) he isn't interested in coming to Nebraska. Seriously though, good job!"
  17. Q Okay. And then, big cities are dealing with smash-and-grab robberies. A record number of police officers have been shot and killed this year. What is President Biden going to do about all this lawlessness? MS. PSAKI: Well, Peter, I would say that, one, the President proposed additional funding in his budget over the funding that had been proposed by the prior President to increase and support local police departments, to make sure we keep cops on the beat, and we ensure that local communities are working in partnership to crack down on crime and any dangers they see in their community. So, that’s one of the steps. We’ve also worked with a range of communities across the country on strike forces, as you know — something we’ve talked about in the past. We’re continuing to implement that from the Department of Justice. But the President absolutely believes that community police forces can have an important, instrumental effect in helping keep communities safe. Q And does the President still think that crime is up because of the pandemic? MS. PSAKI: I think many people have conveyed that, and also one of the reasons that crime — one of the root reasons crime we’ve — root causes of crime in communities is guns and gun violence. And we’ve seen that statistically around the country. Q But, to your point, so when a huge group of criminals organizes themselves and they want to go loot a store — a CVS, a Nordstrom, a Home Depot — until the shelves are clean, do you think that’s because of the pandemic? MS. PSAKI: I think a root cause in a lot of communities is the pandemic, yes.
  18. Do we have any examples of people defending their homes with guns being considered nazis/white supremacists?
  19. Name a national household name positional coach. Just one.
  20. Ron Brown had nothing to do with Roy Helu Jr., as he was the tight ends coach until 2011 after he graduated. Newby was one of his players but...uh, never did a single impressive thing in his time here as far as I can remember. Not disagreeing with whatever your larger point is, btw.
  21. Are they still looking at 12 teams as the goal? If so, I don't see how first round games on campus can work with the top 4 seeds getting a bye. Georgia loses out on $10mil easy in home game revenue for being too good and not playing in that round? Don't think people would go for it.
  22. "Here" doesn't have the OL, receiving corps, and coaching that OU does. Martinez outperformed Rattler when we went to Norman this year, while Rattler had the benefit of the best quarterback whisperer on the entire planet. I wouldn't mind if we take him, but he's not who you think he is.
  23. Before even worrying about the wall we need to fix our overly-punitive legislation that incentivizes illegal immigrants to stay here instead of heading back home. Making an iron curtain of security shouldn't be anywhere on a priority list if we don't fix the other parts first, because its actual effect is the reverse of its intended one with the laws the way they are.
