Nebraska really really needs this win. Actually, we really really need to win the entire north division and be in the Big XII championship game. Nobody respects Nebraska anymore, and hasn't respected Nebraska in years. The reason is that we haven't done much to prove anything. We consistently get beat by better teams, feast off of the lessers, and sniff around the 20-25 range in the polls on a frequent basis. Beating VT would have done a lot more than a win vs. Mizzou will. But they missed that opportunity. Now they need to step up and prove that they are a team to be reckoned with again.

VT's defense has the ability to make our offense look as if they were befuddled. our defense looks like it has the tendency to let the opponent get big plays where a big play shouldn't happen. That is what will happen in this game. I pick we win from the heart, but the gut says we lose because VT is just good at being VT. Which is creating havoc by their defense.

Even the standard definition picture on a regular tv looks awful. I understand the need for all of the equipment upgrades, but HD has been around for a while. And what is the #1 reason people buy new, big fancy HDTV sets? SPORTS

Did you HERE that the administration is thinking about getting rid of the skull and crossbones art, and "throwing the bones" after big plays? Not only does a black shirt symbolize the oppression of African Americans, but it also symbolizes the death of people, by having a skeleton on the logo. Then, if you throw the bones, it's disrespectful to the dead. You normally should bury people at a funeral, in a casket.

The show can be a riot sometimes, but sometimes it can get irritating. But overall, I typically enjoy listening to Jim Rome, and generally think he's a good guy. Oh, and the interviews are almost always fantastic. Can't wait for the season to start so we can stop all of the questioning & concerns and see some football already.

Bowl names bother me. I know sponsorship is important, but GIVE ME A BREAK. San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. (are you fing serious?) Why don't they say: "Poinsettia Bowl" sponsored by San Diego County Credit Union? It would be a lot less gay IMO.

Clemson has a much better "D" than Nebraska. We've got the better "O" than they do. I honestly think whoever wins this game wins by no more than a touchdown.

Based on stars, we should have been in BCS competition last year.

It will be close, IMO. We all knew Callahan was basically fired last season when KSU came to town, and look at what Nebraska did to them. Anything can happen.

I agree on PART of that statement. This is Pelini's first year here as HEAD coach. We should stick with our base defense most of the time... I mean, the 4-3 is our BASE defense, right? Why not drill that defense week after week after week until these kids can do it in their sleep? Once they start perfecting it, stop making mistakes, then possibly think about running your nickel packages or your 3-Man fronts. New year, new system, new coaches... But it IS still on the players to perfect what they do... That IS what they are here for, and they SHOULD have faith in their coaches no matter what the coaches have them do.
