    Wow, I don't think plays like that should be legal. If you line up an OT in the slot, he shouldn't be considered still a lineman.

      how do you define "over there" though? you can't really. So that rules "quirk" will never go away

      Yeah, that's the tacky part of it. I don't know if there's a solution. It was still cheap, as far as cheap plays go.

       

      But I mean, if they have requirements about "on the line" vs "lining up behind the line", surely they could have something that requires, say, even spacing within +/- __ yards for all 5 linemen, or a reasonable cap on the distance between two offensive linemen.
