Can someone explain? Were they running a fake field goal? I have no idea what happened there.

Cassidy was on the Red team. But he was the holder for both teams. So when the whites lined up for the potential game winning FG, he took the snap and threw it away on purpose. They gave Maher another shot again, but then he missed it.
