If you have an iPhone and Mac, do all incoming texts reach your computer, or only ones from other iMessage clients?

I think for SMS messages you have to be on the same wifi, but for iMessage you'll get those anywhere/anytime.
I don't have a phone right now but I can still text most of my friends.
